Just got back from a 4 night stay. Very good hotel with a small pool and the usual early morning race for the prime sunbathing spots. However, that should not detract too much from the stay because there are plenty of sunbeams on the terrace overlooking the pool deck. In addition, the lovely beach is just across the road and sunbeams and umbrellas are plentiful here. We stayed in a Level room and the upgrade is well worth the extra. The Level lounge offers unlimited soft drinks, alcohol and canopies throughout the day and the rooms have a coffee machine, huge walk in shower, upgraded toiletries, maid service twice a day and great sea views. We ate breakfast in the main restaurant mainly due to the wider choice than available in The Level Lounge but this was a personal preference. Wide variety of cooked and cold food available in a very large and busy dining room. I will finish by mentioning the staff in the Level Lounge. From the moment we arrived at the hotel they nothing less than superb in everything they did. Nothing was too much trouble and their friendly, helpful and humorous demeanour ensured we had a wonderful experience. Maria initially greeted us, explained everything and showed us to our room which was lovely. We then met Marlo and Jasmin and they too were excellent in everything they did. Finally a mention for Esther who was a brilliant waitress / hostess whose smile lit up the room. She worked tirelessly and always had a pleasant greeting and smile for the guests. Ladies, many many thanks for all you did for us Melia Group could not ask for better ambassadors. Sandra and I can't wait to visit you again soon.

A great hotel in a wonderful location close to the beach, shops and restaurants. We booked a Level room and were delighted when we greeted by Marlo for a tour of the hotel. The level gives access to a lounge area which additionally has an outside area where you can escape and enjoy a glass of wine or a beer and snacks. Breakfast is also available here. Nothing is a problem for the lovely staff. The rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds and pillows. We would definitely return!

Only marking this as average as the rooms we had were very dated, with old furniture, and tatty bathrooms with grouting and sealant missing around the bath. The hotel has refurbished the public areas and these are lovely, but the room was disappointing for the price we paid. Would not stay again in the old rooms. Buffet breakfast had a very good choice, but restaurant is like a factory canteen, and very cold and soulless.

We spent two nights here while on a tour of Spain. It was a very pleasant stay due to the ease of check-in, ability to easily find the stairs to walk up to our room and avoid the elevator. When you stepped out onto our deck you could see the beach and ocean which was nice. We found our room quiet, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was included with our stay and it was an impressive buffet with something for everyone. We were able to walk along the boardroom and up to the older part of the city. This hotel is ideally situated and we would stay here again.

We wanted a comfortable hotel right by the beach in the Costa del Sol and the Melia met it on all accounts. It's modern and clean with efficient and helpful staff. You're right across the street (little traffic) from the beach and can get beach towels at the pool. Breakfast is included at the restaurant and features a very large buffet with almost everything you could ask for. A dinner buffet was available at a price of 25 Euros. This sounded high but was reasonable compared to what you'd pay for a complete dinner and dessert, particularly given the variety of food available. There's an elevator next door that takes you up to the town of Torremelinos, saving a long walk up steps (although the walk down was easy and had a lost of shops to browse in).

Booked this hotel only 2 weeks in advance during mid August when the Torremolinos was almost fully booked - the hotel is not cheap but all the other available 4 star hotels were the same price if not more. The location is excellent right across from the beach, booked a Level room which are on higher floors and refurbished in a tasteful minimalist style, check in even at 3.00am in the morning was friendly and efficient, room spotless with 'pillow menu' quality fixtures, nice lighting, huge walk in power shower etc, great see view. The level allows you access to a lounge where you can have a scaled down breakfast, and snacks, canapes, fresh coffee and drinks etc all day - plus a private garden. The hostesses for the Level are excellent, very friendly, helpful and keen to make sure you have everything you need. Breakfast buffet offering in the main restaurant was good selection of hot and cold with attentive staff - found the restaurant very large and noisy with children so tended to use the Level lounge for a scaled down breakfast. i would definitely stay in this hotel and go for the Level on the next visit. you also get free internet, in room safe, nespresso machine and kettle with supplies in the room. Only issue i had was the Level is advertised as a child free area - the name Level indicates normally a floor set aside as an executive/club class floor - but that is not the case Level rooms are mixed with standard rooms on various floors which meant we had noisy children in the rooms adjoining us and you have to come down from the 8th floor to the ground floor to use the Level lounge which is a child free zone. The pool is very small just for splashing about in not swimming but as we went to the beach everyday it was not an issue.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights from 3rd to 6th Aug17, Our check in was very smooth. The front office persons, Eva and Manuelle were very helpful. We booked tours with Julia Bus and they did not allow us to board the bus. While talking to them, they were rude and told to take help from someone who can speak Spanish. The hotel people, Eva and Manuelle helped us talking to them in Spanish. Finally, Julia did not budge and that was another story. We ordered room service for 2 nights and the service was quite fast and efficient. Our room was quite comfortable and we were very happy with the AC. Breakfast spread was very huge and there were several items to choose from the display. We found this place convenient to go to train station. We have not done Caminito Del Ray and Alhambra Palace. Hence, we plan to return to Malaga and will stay here definitely.

I booked this hotel for a one night stay via hotels.com On arrival the hotel is presentable and after a 10 minute wait I was checked in. The hotel insists on a credit card swipe upon check in. The receptionist did try to charge me again for the stay despite prepaying ! I was given room 300. However upon arrival in the room I found that the main view was a rock wall and only a small view of the sea, despite it being advertised as an ocean view. A quick call to reception and I was offered another room in "the other block" This time I was given room 478. The room was a twin but I'd given up on further changes. The room is pretty dated and the cleaning was not great. I found hairs in the bathroom and half used bottles of water in the fridge. The rest of the hotel was of a good standard and has a lovely feel about it. The pool area is pretty small for the amount of guests. I had two meals, a snack at the pool which was very good and a buffet breakfast (12€ extra) Check out was simple and he concierge was really good in helping with transport since the taxis had gone on strike.

On this visit we upgraded to The Level. Found the private Lounge/Garden area very pleasant. However although open to 11pm all the premium spirits seemed to be taken away by 10.30pm. So when returning to the hotel for a night cap found the drink choice to be limited to wine only. Bedrooms were clean & well stocked with tea/coffee & bathroom requirements. Pool towels could be changed daily without charge. We find this hotel very well located & use the hotel's cliff lift regularly, but found this not really advertised within the hotel. Will return again but would have to see if the extra costs for The Level are worth while.

First off, apologies. My camera packed in on the last day before I could take some snaps.Always like to take some photos.Damn. We visited Torremolinos last year but opted for another hotel as we thought the rooms in the Melia were looking a bit tired.Big mistake but that's another story. We noticed on the hotel website this year that they have recently refurbished the rooms,so being our favourite hotel in Torremolinos decided to check it out.We spent a great week from July 28th until August 4th there. We weren't disappointed as they have done a fantastic job.Gone are the old carpets, the old furniture and the bath.In comes the light wood flooring, white minimalist(boutique style)furniture and a brilliant walk in shower with traditional shower head and the big square plate to really soak away the aches of a hard days sunbathing! The bathroom also has switched lighting so you don't have to illuminate it all, just certain parts. It does look though as if the upgrade in both blocks is from floors 5-9 inclusive.Floors 1-4 look like the old standard rooms still. The new rooms really are bright and cheerful. Free of charge generous sized safe in the room and they've also added a kettle, two cups and tea/coffee,sugar etc for the morning cuppa on the balcony.Oh,and two metal teaspoons are provided to save you buying the white plastic ones that melt when you stir your drink! They have the usual minibar in the room but you can still squeeze milk, juice and a couple of beers etc in it. Didn't eat in the hotel as we were room only but the staff were all happy, smiling and professional. Well done Melia Costa Del Sol.We're coming back next year for our fifth visit and we're staying for two weeks,or maybe forever. It's a great hotel and within easy reach of everything in Torremolinos.Check it out.Highly recommended.
