Spotless hotel in the soho area of Malaga. 10 minutes into old town and 20 minutes to beech passing port an route..also 10 minutes from Centro station..self service breakfast which consists of cereals, fruits, cakes, pastries as well as scrambled eggs and bacon..a good set up for a day in the beautiful Malaga.. Cannot fault it.

This hotel was in a great location. Central to main city centre and beach. The rooms were very modern and spacious. Everything was immaculate. The whole hotel was very modern. Staff were helpful and always available.

Wonderful staff with helpful advice. Chic hotel for my short stay in Malaga. Loved the decor in my room. Walking distance to everything. Breakfast had great options. Bed was very comfortable. Would stay again.

Really smart hotel, great location. Big comfy bed (two singles pushed together), nice big bathroom and great shower. Wifi worked well. Air conditioning in the room was welcome, and the buffet breakfast was brilliant! It had lovely fresh breads and warm pastries, squeeze your own orange juice, scrambled eggs, meats, vegetables, make your own crepes, fruit, yoghurts, all kinds of hot drinks, soya milk, fabulous! Only downside is sometimes noise from both inside the hotel (the bedroom doors close with a loud click but you'd only notice if you were sleeping) and sometimes from the cafe right outside our room. But only certain times of day, and not being beside a busy noisy road was more important. Yes would highly recommend!

Good hotel overall..friendly staff upon arrival who sorted out a wrong room allocation quickly and with good grace. Large room (executive) with decent size bathroom. Bathroom was big enough to have a seperate walk in shower as against a shower over bath arrangement which is slightly dated. Air con was generally poor even at full cold setting. Impression was that the team that own the hotel have plan to improve it but it is still a good place to stay..handy for the city centre and has plently of local bars. Some construction noise nearby so i would think a top floor room might be better at the moment. Overall the hotel has a nice feel to it and we enjoyed our stay.

We booked here looking for a nice hotel room that was not too expensive, and I think we have done very well, rooms and hotel are very clean, the position of this hotel is great its a 2 minute walk from the big wheel and 3 minute's from the Cathedral which in my book is very central. The hotel is in and up and coming part of Malaga but still very central, rooms are well fitted out with safe and minibar as standard, bathroom has a bath with shower over, toilet ,bidet, and wash basin. Finally I should say how friendly and helpful the reception staff are, they cannot do enough to help you.We will be back to both this hotel and the city of Malaga.

We traveled to Malaga for a friends wedding. To be honest, I barely looked at the listing on trip advisor as I knew it would be a short stay. The hotel turned out to be perfectly situated for all we want to do. The room is super clean and cute, the staff could not be nicer. I feel like we really lucked out on this one!

Lovely room and excellent location. Good breakfast We checked in two days ago and showed our passports to the manager so he could register both of us. When I asked if breakfast was included he said yes. He told us the times as well Upon check out today the woman at the front desk said we only paid for one person's breakfast and she wanted to charge us +8 euros per day extra because my husband and I both ate breakfast.. I told her that we were informed that breakfast was included and the manager who signed two of us in to our room clearly said so. She was insistent that we owed for the second party and provided all kinds of reasons why she was right. She said she's worked all over the world and knew what she was talking about. She said we only paid for one person to eat breakfast. Is this the way to treat hotel guests in order to leave a lasting impression? Who ever heard of providing breakfast for one member of a couple and trying to collect more money on the way out? Additionally if there was some kind of glitch in our reservation shouldn't we have been told when we spent 15 minutes checking in with the manager? Customer service needs work!! No apology was offered and certainly no concept that "the customer is always right" Not a smart way to treat paying customers especially in these times when social media provides opportunities for clients to share experiences, both positive and negative

I'm used to travelling, for business and pleasure, in tourist hot spots and I've seen fatigue among tourism industry professionals before. At Mariposa there was a detectable atmosphere of strain among staff throughout my dealings with them. I was in Malaga for four days for work, organising a 2 day event for which I was bringing 5 other guests to stay for two nights; I was bringing a not inconsiderable amount of business to the hotel. Wile the block booking process seemed a little long, convoluted and unnecessarily rigid, in the end myself and my colleagues got very decent rooms in a very decent hotel in the Soho district between the port and the train station. Two things marked me about my stay. While I had some very positive and engaging interactions with some staff members who were very helpful, for example agreeing to let me keep my rental bike in the luggage hold, I found the breakfast time asking for your room number a little too 'in-your-face' for comfort. The second thing was more disconcerting. When checking out I was asked had I used the minibar during my stay, when I said 'no' I was quizzed about this and asked "are you sure you didn't have a bottle of rum on one of the nights?". This has never happened to me before and left a bad taste in my mouth about the Mariposa. I am not sure I will go back there.

Just stayed here for 5 nights. It's a great hotel in a great city. The location is 5-15mins from everywhere you need to get to in Malaga. The hotel does not have a bar or a roof terrace but malaga is so great does it really need it Only slight comments We had room 402. It needs net curtains on the windows as the apartments opposite can look right in and a kettle / tea making facility would help
