It was very nice visiting, because hotel is located by the sea, there is such a cozy atmosphere, happy people around, good service, private place to have a sun bath and swim in the pool and the best thing is delicious food, especially in the morning:)
Poor isolation, old and ruined rooms, water keeps on running in bowl of the toilet, ventilation in the bathroom very bad, balcon doors can't be closed good so cold air coming inside.Towels not always clean if you leave them on the floor(check it),english breakfast(every day same beans, sausages and eggs) not much to choose from. Some of personal very friendly and helpful.Location great. As we were in December I must mention that the room was very good heated (floor heating plus radiator). All the rooms have partial or full view on the Sea.We Were not in a peak season so it was possible to park also on the street in front od the hotel for free, guess in Sommer season is that a bit more difficult. The hotel is good for a family with babies: there are elevators and its possible to get a bed for kids (no extra costs).
Building work 9 to 5 currently. Fine if you're out and about, but DONT expect a quiet day lazing by the pool. I would suggest its set at about the right price. Upper rooms first to have been refurbished.
went for a 4 night winter break , first let down was check in . no information about the hotel facilities ; like meal times .safe boxes. lifts . ect. not a word spoken from the miserable receptionist , so to the bed room , 4 floor room 419 . I was pleasantly surprise quiet a nice room warm and clean nice beds comfy . tv only sky news. fridge . sofa . plenty of drawer space and wardrobe. house keeping very good so scores a 9 out of 10 .down side was no sun at all on the balcony at any time of day you have to pay extra for the sun on balcony . bathroom very clean towel changed daily 2 nights between 5 pm and 7 pm no hot water .the balcony was dirty the table had seen many years. plenty of bird poo on wall. dining room very tired, untidy areas . needs a good clean and update. behind the hot counter really dirty .I used the micro wave 3 times in my 4 day stay and never cleaned .we ate one night. buffet 25.50 euros not worth it . food quite basic poor choice . and mostly cold.breakfast not bad fried eggs or boiled eggs . beans sausage , take note there using the cheapest brands. not fresh orange its diluted , the outside pool area . all the sunbeds need a good clean so do the chairs , location is quite away from centre of Torremolinos, great for the beach not far from marina with nice bars and shopping . we caught the bus up to town turn left from reception straight up to main road only minuets 1. 55 euros on bus. I think I would stay again but depends on price
Good value hotel, excellent location on the Benalmadena promenade. Lovely garden to sunbathe in with sea views. Bedroom a good size with a tidy bathroom and all rooms have a sea view. Breakfast plentiful with plenty of choice. Happy hour and entertainment every night was a bonus. Will come here again
I chose the Barracuda on line as we just wanted a simple week away in the sunshine. I couldn't have chosen better for the expenditure. The location, about 15 minutes walk from El Pinillo Station) is right on the beach and between Benalmàdena and Torremolinos centre with lots of bars nearby. The room was quite well equipped (***) and comfortable (but with the usual very low wattage lighting!), the water hot and the towels plentiful. Staff are pleasant and helpful. We hadn't booked dinner in the hotel but ate there most evenings as it is such good value (12€ buffet dinner) and the buffet breakfast is very good. If I have any reservations about the restaurant it is that I wish there was some sort of dress code as I don't want to see people in their beach wear at dinner.
Stayed at the hotel for 1 week, on B&B. The room are lovely, very big and spotless. Towels changed every day, big fridge and a side sea view which was good. The breakfast was nice always managed to get something to eat, but it was rather cold so put it in the microwave to warm up. The hotel is right at the beach, small walk to the marina or anywhere else. Staff very nice and helpful. Loved this hotel, will definitely be back.
Only stayed for 4 days. A short winter break. Lovely hotel. Spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food amazing!! Perfectly situated, on the beach and a short stroll to the marina. Rooms are large with free air con and tv(if that's what you go to Spain for!). Wifi available free in the lobby only. Can't wait to come back!!
I spent the last four days at la barracuda and whilst the hotel amenities and location were fine for the price they didn't warn us that building works would be taking place for our entire stay. The balcony railings were been replaced which consisted of a metal cutter continually been used between 8.30am and 6.30pm. We therefore couldn't spend any relaxing time in our room or sit on the balcony due to the noise. This was a shame as the balcony was a sun trap with a beautiful view.
I'm afraid I've stayed in this hotel last week for 4 days and I managed to get a severe allergic reaction to some kind of insect bites . I have stayed with my mum and sister only for 4 nights but unfortunately we have noticed tiny insects and little bloody spots on the second day. It was quite dark in the room to be honest so only during the day you can spot the tiby bloody marks on the bed sheets. We notified the staff straight away and they have send us insect inspectors of some kind to check on the call. Of course once I've show them the bedsheets they looked as if they already knew what it is all about but they just said we will need to change the room. Staff appologised and gave us a better room which was too late as I noticed some red spots on my sholder the same night. I've asked if the hotel has a doctor of some kind, but have been told that they can call one but it might cost me around £100, not considering that it was basically their fault I got the reaction. I had to go to the pharmacy as the spots multiplied and became blisters all over my hands, neck, later on the face and legs. I've been to my doctor in Uk and they gave me pills and suggested that i have been bitten by some kind of insects. 5 days later I am still waiting the blisters to calm down and I have taken a week off from work. The staff noticed my allergy but no refund or compliment was offerd. Yes, they've changed the room but the bedsheets, the cleanliness were just unacceptable. How can the staff 'clean' the room, make the beds and leave these bedsheets with the stains on them. It wasn't only my bed, there was some spots on my sistes pillow case as well. Now my mum has some spots. I am not sure what kind of insects they were treating the room against but definitely I won't be coming back.
