We booked this hotel for the end of a busy driving holiday. We paid an average of 150€ per night per room but were really disappointed with what was on offer. We had stayed in 6 other hotels during our trip but Ibersol Alay was twice the price and offered little. No tea or coffee in rooms. Not a shred of information in rooms about dining, how to call reception etc. The internet in room was non existent and wehad to keep going to the lobby to carry out some business. Breakfast was poor for the money, not even fresh orange juice. The guy who checked us in at reception was very unprofessional and needs a refresher course. I would not recommend this hotel nor will we go back to it unless standards change.
Returned on july10th after 7days lovely clean and modern hotel reception very friendly we asked by email for high room facing the marina and got exactly that brilliant views over marina and beach from 11th floor room was a bit compact with NO drawers at all we had two shelves in wardrobe and two small bedside enough coat hangers for 12 items total needless to say my wife had nine cleaner changed towels every day and made the bed not the worst we've had but certainly NOT the best ,one British channel on TVs BBC news but we don't go on holiday to watch TV big black marks are for NO HAND GEL outside resturant or anywhere in hotel food was plenty variety but not geared for British but always found something to eat so hence 3stars not 5 but would go back if changes were made in rooms excellent service from reception
Recently spent 4 nights on a boys long weekend.Rooms are clean spacious if a little sparse and the bathroom needed a refurb but both perfectly acceptable.Breakfast was pretty good also standard buffet type food but with little extras like Palma ham and bubbly available. There is a little bar Wilkies opposite which we tried but the food was expensive and hardly edible and the beer was dire.At the end of the road at the marina we tried the Chinese buffet all you can eat including premium seafood which was fantastic value. All in all a good trip with the room prices about half that of similar hotels nearby.
really really impressed with this hotel. Would highly recommend it. Lost my bag on the transfers to the hotel and the receptionists couldn't of been more helpful if they tried. Lovely clean rooms. Will definitely be returning!!
stayed here for a week early July. Rooms were cleaned every day and towels changed. Our only gripe would be wifi didn't work on the 9th floor (well at least in our room) for the entire stay. We complained a few times but nothing done about it. Great views over the marina and the sea though. We were half board - breakfasts were fine but the dinner could have had more variety - perhaps having an Italian night or a Chinese night would have helped. Could also perhaps have had some entertainment at night - they did have a "chill out" night but wasn't well attended from what we could see.
Just returned from a 1 week holiday with a family of 4. The decor of the hotel was beautiful and always spotless! Stayed on the 6th floor, Room was open plan and had no separate bedroom so a bit too small for a family. Room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels and toilet roll. The food was very basic, breakfast was cereals bread pastries fry fruit meats etc. Can't say much for the dinner as I ate out. I would recommend using the pool across from the hotel which had a poolside bar that was very cheap! The location was perfect any amount of supermarkets bars restaurants. There was lots to do outside of the hotel. We went on a boat trip to see the dolphins only €57 for 2 hours! Also the train which takes you to tivoili world was only €20. We also played mini golf which was great fun and very cheap €7.50 per person for mini golf+food+drink. Overall the hotel was lovely but not suited for children but I can not fault the location!
My boyfriend and I have just returned from a weeks stay at Hotel Alay. The location is the best thing about this hotel, right by the beach and just a few minutes walk from the marina. The reception staff were mostly friendly, and we rented beach towels for 10 Euro each and changed them at the desk each day which is a handy service. The rooms were small but modern. They've been recently refurbished and I thought the refurbishments looked a bit shoddy and tired in places as there were marks on the walls and scratches on the furniture etc but nothing too bad. I really liked the rooftop bar, especially Sandra who served great drinks and was really nice!! It's a lovely space but did feel a bit empty and dead most of the time. They play loud house music which is probably driving people away. I had a drink most nights so the noise never bothered me, but on the last night I went to bed at 10.30pm as we had an early flight in the morning and I couldn't sleep because of the music (we were on the 5th floor and facing the marina). I think it comes from the hotel bar and the bar on the street outside. If you plan on sleeping maybe try to get a room round the back where I imagine it's quieter. We had breakfast at Buffett each morning, and it's one of the best ones I've been to. There's lots of options, good coffee machines and the scrambled egg was amazing. Theres also sparkling wine available which I though was a nice touch! Defiantly value for money. Overall I had a great time and would definitely go back!
A very pleasant stay at the Hotel Alay ..it is a very contemporary hotel in a perfect location for the beautiful marina and the beach. All rooms and public areas were spotlessly clean and although we didnt book a sea view we had a side sea view which allowed a view over part of the marina and full view of the beach and sea room no.656..Though the food was not the best selection I have experienced there was a good choice for breakfast and we never went hungry in the evening as there was a good salad cheese and cold meat selection and plenty of fresh fruit and desserts. we would definitely stay here again.
Had a lovely short break here. The staff were friendly, room was clean and the food was good with plenty of choice. Stayed in room 872 and had great views af the marina and the sea. We will definately stay hare again.
Hotel in great location and Kim receptionist was great & very helpful. However hotel really needs entertainment roof top bar had music which is more suited to Ibiza not back ground music when you are having a drink. Food was really poor so I would recommend b & b only as there is ample restaurants near by.
