H10 Estepona Palace

The hotel was excellent, the staff friendly and helpful. the things that spoilt it was the location(no shops or bars near by) and the beach was terrible. The food in the restaruant was average. The rooms were very good and the beds the best hotel beds we have slept in.

We stayed at the Estepona Palace at the end of June for one week. We were on a bed and breakfast basis. The breakfasts are very good with plenty of choice for all tastes. The hotel is spotless with a nice pool area. There is a bar/restaurant at the pool area which is quite reasonable for food and drink. It can get busy though but staff cope as well as they can. The Lobby bar is ok as well and there is entertainment most night. Our room was large and spotlessly clean as well. We did not have a sea view but our balcony became a sun trap in early evening. All the staff at hotel were friendly and helpful. Our only gripe was having to pay 15 euros for use of safe in room.

Stayed for 6 nights on a tour of southern Spain after Jerez and Cadiz. First impressions are good with a great welcome by reception and a welcome drink. Our room was 266, it was average with a tiny balcony, no stocked minibar, no coffee making and on Ground floor level so limited views. Beds are comfy though!! I think paying for a safe these days is just too much in a 4 star hotel, they need to get with modern expectations. Breakfast was excellent with super choices leaving no option to chance, really good, but I am glad it was included for me cos at €20 each it is stupid expensive. Sun beds are like diamonds. If you are not up by 8 you will struggle and people are happy to stick a towel on and not bother all day, I watched one couple turn up at 5.15 after having towels down all day. This needs stopping. Talking towels, the hotel towels are only available by paying a €15 deposit each. At reception not at the pool. Never have I seen this before. They must have had some serious thieves beforehand!!! The hotel is right at the west end of estepona and about a 4km walk to the centre. You will need taxis unless you are quite energetic, it's a 45 min walk past the marina and into the old town. Overall, not quite average in my opinion - too many things I expect at a four star that were missing or at a cost. Hit the like button if this is helpful, happy to take questions.

We came to Estepona for our Honeymoon as I am 6 months pregnant and didn't want to travel to far and I am familiar with the area. We choose to stay at H10 Palace as it looked so nice online and the reviews were excellent. We had a piece of paper in our room that read 'HONEYMOON!!' on it. That was the only difference between our stay and other guests. We spoke to other privileged guests who confirmed they also got fruit and a small box of chocolates in their room and a drink upon arrival. That's all very nice that they do that but we expected a little bit extra considering it was our Honeymoon. Smokers were all over the place, even in the kids area. We had no choice but to breath it in constantly, maybe there should be a non-smoking area for people that can enjoy sunbathing or relaxing without having to breath it in all day. The customer service didn't seem genuine at all, from the reception staff, café staff or the restaurant staff. I did not rate the service from the Customer Service lady Karen who called the room. I had spoken to my Mum who kindly paid for our honeymoon as a wedding present, I told her that I wasn't to happy with the hotel in regards to them not making any effort at all for us. My Mum then sent an email to the hotel that I was unaware of making a complaint and asking if they could maybe do something to make up for it even though it was our last day so it was a bit too late. Karen called the room, informing me my 'mother emailed' in a not very nice tone and asked what more they could of done. I told her not to worry as it's too late now. She seemed satisfied with this as we didn't received or hear anything further. Karen then seemed to want to point out the 'privileged' benefits in an email, not really sure why?? Don't know how our ever so exciting 'slippers' and 'pillow menu' differ from the non-honeymooners ones but for some reason she felt the need to remind us what we paid for. Karen also included in the menu that we had a bottle of cava in our room which we did not. Even if they did put one in, it wouldn't be much good to me being pregnant. We did have fruit yes, but as mentioned so did many other guests. Our key fob didn't work at times, we had to go to reception to get it working 3 times. One time in the privileged room, 10 minutes before it closed for the evening, a member of staff who was clearing glasses away took my half filled glass of water away along with the half emptied bottle. This I found very rude, she made it quite clear she wanted us to leave the room so she could get on with clearing up. We found the spa/pool area very disappointing, especially the changing rooms. We just wanted to get of there, it was too dark and dingy and not a very nice atmosphere. I couldn't of been less satisfied with the breakfast. These are the comments I have to say about breakfast * Hardly ever any clean glasses around * When there was glasses available, they were chipped at the top so you could easily cut your lip * Plates and cutlery were not replaced, so you had to put your used ones on a different table whilst searching for clean cutlery * The staff were very grumpy * Never saw water, always empty bottles but never actual water in them * Poor selection of food * Scrambled eggs and Mushrooms were a terrible taste * The only thing I could manage to eat was the pancakes with chocolate sauce - which were lovely but not very nutritious every morning for a week! I tried the fruit but it was all tinned so not fresh at all * Most the time I would have to ask the unhappy staff behind the counter to cook the pancakes a little longer as they were not cooked The hotel itself was very clean and impressive. Our room was a lovely size and was cleaned very well every day. Unfortunately cleanliness isn't enough to make me want to go back. The bed was comfortable and the walls were thick so we couldn't hear the rooms either side. There was however an annoying flash in the ceiling that went off every 10 seconds.

We've stayed in two other H10 Hotels and been impressed with them so decided to try the Estepona Palace and weren't disappointed. The hotel is up to their usual standards i.e well furnished, stylish, spacious, very clean and tidy with friendly, helpful staff. The pool area was good and there is acccess to a small beach. The hotel is on the western fringes of the town so reasonably quiet and a bit out of the way which suited us. The harbour is about 1.5 miles away and the main part of town / beach beyond that. The room was excellent, the beds are always very big and we had a nice large balcony. We had to pay for the use of the room safe (2.40 Euros / day) which I thought was a bit unnecessary but if you join the H10 Membership when you book, you get a discount and we received complimentary fruit, chocolates and cocktails so, all in all, no complaints. I had problems with the internet ( Is that just me!!) trying to get our boarding passes printed but the lady in reception was very helpful and printed them for me. Breakfast buffet was good but we only ate there once in the evening, as the evening buffet was average / OK and we ended up eating in the harbour restaurants. We'll definitely try some more H10s in the future and will probably go back to the Estepona Palace.

We arrived to a helpful receptionist, although as we were transferred from another hotel due to overbooking, we stated we would like our rooms ready on arrival originally we were told they were not but 2 seconds later they were ready. We were upgraded to the privilege. Private bathing terrace but no direct private pool. The privilege lounge was very good with optional alcohol and snacks. The restaurant (Half Board) gave a good selection and different choice each night. Pool was suitable. The room we were given which was meant to be a privilege room, was some what to be desired I think they put us in a standard room and added a fridge/kettle. Tiny balcony and one sun bed. Bathroom was suitable but dated. Cleaning staff were great. We went to use a bar area but as we had drinks from another area we was not allowed in??? Even though we were in the hotel premises and walked 20 steps from the previous bar. On checkout we asked for late departure and told no. We were able to use the spa shower room which was hotter then outside so not really that refreshing. Location of hotel is in a quiet spot. With a man made beach not the greatest but good for breeze.

This is our 6th visit to the H10 Estepona Palce, and it never disappoints us. The staff definitely make the hotel, which is why people return year after year. Everyone likes different things about hotels, for us - we like to hit our holiday running, knowing our way around the hotel and ensuring the Wi-fi is reliable so my husband can run his business takes the stress out of arriving somewhere new. Onto the hotel - we have never has a bad room, the majority overlook the sea and are spacious and immaculately clean. Big queen size beds in double rooms where you loose your partner in bed. Lots of pillows and comfortable beds. I'm allergic to feathers, so have learnt to email beforehand to ask for hypoallergenic bedding, to save a couple of days of sneezing. For those people whom Wi-fi is's a great reception throughout the hotel, we've never had a problem. People - it's a complete mix of people. Groups of families, groups of golfers, couples, wedding parties...there really is something for everyone. Golfers can be a bit of a pain, turn into children escaping their wives for a few days, but never any trouble. We have met the same people there over the past few years, whom return again and again. We have met some lovely people whom are now close friends that we keep in contact with at home. Entertainment- the entertainment starts around 11am everyday, from Tai Chi to Paddle tennis. Ezio has been there for years and has a great presence around the hotel and this year Jose joined. The entertainment staff are very warm, friendly and welcoming. I love watching their dance after aqua gym. We haven't been there in high season, but they were training hard for the show they perform. Ezio/Jose - this is from Bryan Paddle Tennis Champion ( you know who we are😀) Staff - it's been the same staff year after year. The all work really hard and are a huge credit to the hotel. As you will see from other reviews Juan is an outstanding Bar manager. He's a genuinely nice guy who sees all hotel guests as friends and is very efficient at his job. He's a complete credit to the hotel. Antonio works in the pool bar and again is outstanding at his job. He works tirelessly and serves you exactly what you want without even having to ask. The fact the the majority of staff are the same as when we first went 7 years ago shows what a nice place it is with happy staff which shines through. Food- the restaurant is a part of the hotel that is ready to be updated. We haven't had a poor meal, but the hotel is quite modern and the restaurant is in need of updating, the outside area which is most popular especially. The hotel is perfect if you are just wanting a hotel based holiday as it a good walk into Estepona itself. We love it however and are looking forward to return again next year. Thank you for a great time once again!

Over the years I have stayed and played golf in Spain (Costa del Sol & Costa Blanca) but this year instead of going back to Belek Antalya in Turkey we tried mainland Spain again. No way was this Hotel as good as the Turkey ones. It was an all inclusive deal which was good as there were no restaurants or shops nearby. The food was adequate but not nowhere near the quality or selection of the H10 hotel in Gran Canaria which was used by us last year. We were a group of 8 and managed to keep a table in the restaurant so we could all sit together. The trouble here was there was not enough staff to take away dirty plates etc. which didn't leave enough room on the table for other food dishes and drinks. We had to keep calling waiters to come and take the used dishes away which is not basically their fault as there were not enough waiters working so I presume it was cut backs with labour. I can't complain about the cleanliness in the Hotel as it was always in a clean appearance. The room I had was very large and overlooking the sea and part of the pool area with a nice Sofa, desk and a couple of chairs. Alas no tea/coffee making facility in the room and you had to pay for safe key. However there was free wi-fi after getting a code. The bathroom had a Bidet, Toilet bowl, wash basin and Bath with shower facility but it was a big step up to get into the bath with no hand holds to steady yourself. This was the cause of one of our group slipping and hurting himself luckily it could have worse as there were no anti slip Mats in the Bath. Towels were changed daily as were the rooms kept clean. I had to kill a couple of floor bugs that I noticed in the bathroom. All in all out stay was average but doubt if we will go back there.

After getting married last year in this beautiful hotel we went back again to celebrate my husband and sons birthday this year, and yet again we were very impressed. All the staff were very friendly especially Juan and Ezio who went out of their way to make our stay very enjoyable. It's safe to say we will return.! Highly recommended

Joined some friends who were already staying at the Estepona Palace for a 3 night break. Loved the Estepona ... lovely spacious rooms with adequate ensuite...lovely warm showers! Right on the sea front ... a lovely pool with plenty of sun beds ( did need reserving early with towels!!!) we also enjoyed aqua aerobics paella demo & eating, & table tennis comp!!! Breakfast was lovely ... loads & loads of choices & good service! Only ate at lunch time but enjoyed a delicious salad & must try there sangria very moorish!! Yes you leave a deposit for towels/ safety box no big deal! We had a car which I think you need as there's not a lot close by... but would definitely return! We have young children ( didn't take them this time!) but would definitely take them here as it seemed very family friendly! No kettle etc in room but we asked to borrow one & one was available xx
