We are just concluding a six night break to this hotel. Having stayed in a variety of Melia hotels, this is probably the best in terms of location, facilities and housekeeping. I cannot comment on the swimming pools as both outdoor pools were closed (due the time of year I suspect) and we didn't use the small indoor pool. We have stayed half board and both breakfast and dinner have a wide range to choose from off the self service buffet (though it may be limited for a two week stay); we found the choice and cost of the wine very reasonable (18 euros for a decent bottle of rose). Service overall has been good at both breakfast and dinner though smiling appears non -existent for some members of staff. Likewise, Reception staff range from the very helpful to the downright abrupt. It is housekeeping where this hotel really excels. Our room has been kept spotless by the housekeeping team and toiletries always replenished. Public rooms are also immaculate despite the inclement weather we have experienced. Location is perfect, only ten minutes stroll from Puerto Banus and around forty-five minutes walk from Marbella, along the very flat seaside promenade. As we booked this break quite late, we did not have the choice of paying extra for 'The Level' though I don't think we would have gained much by the paying the extra. This might be different in the summer when the hotel will be much busier. Previous reviewers have mentioned the noise from the corridors; as the hotel is currently quiet this has not been a problem, though the walls are thin and doors do slam even when being gently closed. Overall a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend to future guests.
Stayed in a twin room on the fifth floor with access to The Level. Room was clean and quiet. Staff were very friendly and we were well looked after in The Level lounge. Used the indoor pool which was nice but pool is very small. Out door pool was freezing! Easy walk into Puerto Banus and lovely walk to Marbella along the sea front. Hope to return again.
The Melia Hotel is in a great location easy walk into the port and the beach is less than 5 min stroll away. The breakfast is plentiful with many choices including delicious freshly made omelettes. The hotel is spotlessly clean everywhere and the staff throughout the hotel are excellent. We were here with our young boy swimming pools are beautiful and the indoor pool was handy as we had a few days of clouds and rain, however we are returning in August. Great holiday great hotel.
We had a hire car without sat nav and trying to find the place was a nightmare. The Google map is absolute rubbish,in the end after driving around for 2 hours, paid a taxi so we could follow him. Went to bed around 11-30pm,person in the room above scraping their chair across the floor making horrible noise with no regard for anyone else. Square pillows the most unconfortable I've ever encountered, and I've slept in many hotels in my time. After midnight, then the real noise begins, people returning talking loudly, slamming doors, making noises in their rooms. 1-20am now now and still awake after all this noise;will I get to sleep, who knows My request when booking was for a quiet room, not near the lift. What a joke' Won't be back, ever! Melia ballshit
This is a nice quality hotel and after a year I stayed here again. The recent renovation of some areas and rooms has not brought the desired affect. In my opinion it has been for worse. The rooms are really very normal, without any personality and taste. The staff were good, helpful and professional. The Level lounge has now two separate spaces but again, the food and times are not suitable at all. The lounge is compared to other Meliā lounges just very regular. The breakfast was good as always and the staff there improved their attention. The worse part of the hotel is insulation, which is non-existent. You can hear every step or movement from the corridors, not to mention the slamming doors of the housekeeping all morning and poor window and balcony door closures. The management should seriously consider the following elements: carpets, new appliances, bathroom updates, furniture, paintings and pictures on the walls. The quality-price was correct, but the price can double or triple during some dates.
Limited choice of hotels in this resort but the Melia Banus ticks most of the boxes for us. Helpful, professional staff, lots of facilities including indoor pool, gym, beauty salon, tennis courts etc. Landscaping is really well done. Hotel is in a great location . Very close to beach and only a 10minute pleasant stroll along promenade to the Port and fantastic shops.
Nice hotel, good location for access to A7 - bit tricky to find at first....would be helpful if hotel gave directions on their website! Easy walking into Puerto banus along seafront. Comfortable room although would have preferred large double bed rather than two small doubles. Chairs on balcony overlooking nice gardens. Great breakfast choices. But bar meals, coffees and drinks expensive. Would recommend.
This hotel is rated as 4 star and for the life of me can't see much that they need to do to be 5 star with the exception of reducing the ridiculously expensive prices at the bar. School boy error first night ordered large beer (half litre) and large gin and tonic which cost €27, but would this stop me going again .. no way. The service, food, cleanliness are all excellent and the spa is very good. Free parking on street just outside the hotel.
Superb surroundings and situation.A lovely stay with no disappointments. On the contrary, a delight.Comfort and service excellent, food likewise. Guaranteed a success every stay, every time. The overall first impression is a good one and the decor is modern and sophisticated. The staff are polite, discreet and most help, couldn't do enough. The food tastes as good as it looks, both traditional and innovative in selection.
This hotel was absolutely beautiful and so accommodating to our requests and needs. For our anniversary weekend, we got complimentary champagne and chocolate treats on arrival as well as a hand written card from the staff. Really very sweet and although our stay was short we would love to come back some day, when its even warmer so we can make proper use of the outdoor pool! The indoor pool and spa facilities were great though. Thanks again Melia, really amazing experience.
