Pretty decent place. Nice decor inside and pool area pretty decent. Rooms fully equipped although no tea and coffee in the family rooms. Although they did just sent one up when asked. Very close to Puerto Banus and the beach.
Please read in original English. The hotel offers a special called "the Level" and the capital V in Level signifies that it's the fifth floor and that's the "top" floor. We booked it and were not disappointed. The special treatment starts with the separate check-in where attractive, intelligent young women explain the list of benefits. And there were quite a few, uh, benefits. 1. The room - view over the pool (516) - the beach is over a block away and a sea-view room could disappoint as there is a parking lot and apartment buildings between you and the surf. Our room was comfortable, clean, with a bathroom full of amenities, hair dryer etc. TV offered a huge selection of stations ranging from Chinese, French, English, German, Russian, and, of course, Spanish. 2. The staff was always friendly, attentive and professional. 5 Star people throughout the hotel 3. The Breakfast buffet was the MOABB ( Mother of all Breakfast Buffets). Separate large areas for fruit, juices, cheese, cold cuts, pastries, a selection of bread and muffins, cakes, cereal, Kid-food, English breakfast staples like beans and bangers, Belgian waffles, and a wonderful chef cooking your eggs/omelets exactly the way you like them. The MOABB and dinners in town gave us two kilos extra as a souvenir of our 5 days here. We did not have lunch or dinner at the hotel so can't comment. 4. The Level privileges include a lounge where food and drink are available in varying amounts throughout the day. We saw some folks who had camped out there and were always eating and enjoying the sparkling wine and occasional rum and coke most of the afternoon. It's a very good deal and reminded me of the constant availability of food and drink offered on cruise ships - without the ups and downs. 5. Two pool areas (adults here - families with kids there) is very inviting and pleasant. So there you have it folks: Beautiful hotel, special service, clean comfortable room, outstanding breakfast ( I suggest giving the waiter a good tip on your first day and he will watch out for your needs the entire time) Great pool area. I gave 4 stars because I thought the room could have been a bit larger - junior suite-like - for the price. But the Melia Marbella Banus is a fine hotel in a lovely setting.
Very nice and modern rooms. Breakfast is very nice as always at Melia and the gym is very fresh. The staff are very professional and "The Level", the VIP section is awsome. The hotel is situated clos to the beach and just a couple of minutes walk to the harbour.
Just spent a week at the Melia and we were really delighted with the hotel. Our kids and co room was ideal and so nice to have a proper bed for children instead of sofa bed. Little treats left everyday and I was left a surprise bottle of bubbly and cake from the hotel for my birthday, and we hadn't told the hotel, so that's real attention to detail. Every member of staff I encountered was polite and smiley. Breakfast was ample although I think items looked nicer than they tasted. Lovely pool, cold in April but I bet in the summer it's bliss. Nice to have separate adults area so I don't worry about my kids annoying anyone wanting silence! I'd definitely return! Thanks to all who made our holiday special.
Stayed here again in April and still cannot find any fault. We stayed in a level room and it was beautiful, the lounge was also very good with a nice selection of food and drink. The breakfast here is lovely there is a wonderful selection for all. The grounds are always kept clean and there is lots of room to sunbathe. One of the best things is the location, just a few minutes walk to Puerto Banus and all it has to offer. Thank you for a wonderful stay and see you soon.
Stayed at the Melia Marbella Banus and it is a nice hotel. It is in a good location, a minutes walk to the beach and around a 10 minute walk to Puerto Banus where there are some nice bars and restaurants. They have renovated a lot of the hotel and you can see it has been updated. If I was being overly critical you can see that there are areas they have cut corners in the rooms. We stayed in a sea view Level room which was nice, clean, good size and had everything you needed for a nice stay. After spending all the money on renovating I would have thought they would have changed the bath tubs and fittings to finish off and match with the rest of the room. As I say a minor criticism. Everything in the room was nice and the view stunning and worth the extra to get a sea view Level Room. Another advantage of the Level rooms is that you get a dedicated check in but access to The Level and this served complimentary drinks, snacks and cakes during the day. This also included wine and cava which was lovely but challenged my resolve mid afternoon! The Level was very nice and a great idea. The only thing I thought was strange was the timings they served the snacks and canapés. It seemed to be timed after breakfast and lunch times or when people would be going out to dinner. Again, if I were being overly critical I would say there was sometimes a lack of food and snacks and it wasn't filled up enough. When people are rushing to the food when they bring it out then that is a hint surely! The staff and hotel facilities are good. Pool areas are lovely and we had a massage each and that too was great and good value. We didn't eat in the hotel apart from breakfast but that was nice and a varied selection. I am not sure what it is like during busy periods but there seemed to be a lack of sun beds but maybe they were not all out as not all the bars and pool facilities were open. The one key thing we didn't like was there seemed to be a bit of a lack of atmosphere, it was a bit stuffy. Maybe as many of the guests were older they think they don't want any music etc but there was none round the pool, in the bars and in The Level, just silence and most evenings golf playing in the bar with no sound! I just think a bit of background music would help bring the resort to life. They have a gym but a little small and not a lot in there for such a large hotel but given that I was the only one in there when I visited maybe that is why! My final criticism is that the hotel charge guests to park a car. We rented a car and as there are limited spaces outside they have an underground car park and I just thought to charge an extra €10 per day seemed a bit mean. Overall I would say the hotel is lovely and in a great location. We visited one of the sister hotels in Torremolinos and that had also been renovated and looked great so I would say you get a good standard with Melia and good value for a four star hotel.
Nice modern hotel with clean and spacious rooms. Lobby was not impressive but the Hotel has nice garden and pool area as well as good size parking lot. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast buffet was excellent with good variety of options.
I can't fault this hotel. Superb staff who were all helpful, friendly and efficient. The rooms are more than average in size with a small terrace. We had views over the pool area. I booked a twin room which has two double beds. The beds were comfortable and the room spotlessly clean. Breakfast served until 11am and was buffet style with a good selection of hot and cold food. The pool bar served a good selection of food and drinks. A short walk to the beach and Puerto Banus.
This Meliá Resort has a great location next to the beach and Board Walk to Puerto Banus. Well worth the walk to people watch and see the luxury yachts. Rooms are pleasantly large I believe only some rooms have been refurbished. I was fortunate to get one of those. Plenty of facilities i.e. pools tennis courts Spa.I would recommend eating out at the plentiful restaurants although breakfast was good. Unfortunately there were no tea/coffee making machines in room. Ideal location for Golf, plenty of amazing courses. Wonderful. The hotel parking at €10.00 per day which is quite good for the area.Although there is free parking on the street. I would stay here again
We used to live and work here so we know the area, what service and standards can be like in Spain - not always as hoped. We've also travelled a fair bit internationally and stayed in great hotels. I can honestly say that sitting on our 4th floor balcony with a pool view, a glass of wine and sunset is idilic. We booked a premium room and its spacious clean and well appointed with a good bathroom and terrace. It's our anniversary and we had a bottle of cava and handmade chocolates and rose petals on the bed - really nice touch. Also a turn-down service. The staff have been really helpful and friendly, hotel decor and facilities brilliant with gym, small indoor pool, tennis and padel courts, two big outdoor pools - one adult only and one bigger with waterfall and kids play area. Buffet breakfast is a really good selection of fresh fruit, juices, pastries, and Spanish favourites with the usual cooked things too - all well done. We've eaten lunch at the poolside restaurant a few times and it's good quality and a decent price - recommend the mixed salad. Also with the Paseo Marbella - 6km walk to Marbella on your door step - it's a perfect compliment to all the food and drink! And it's only 5 mins walk to Puerto Banus harbour. All in all a perfect base for a sunny relaxed but active stay.
