Smart and modern hotel. We elected for junior suite to take advantage of the full sea view which was stunning from high floor. Balcony was vast and helped in grabbing sun or shade to taste. The old town is just behind the hotel but a steep climb be warned with lots of steps. Taxis are available just beyond the hotel ( turn left and you will see the rank in 40m) A range of chiringuitos are on the doorstep offering the best fish and sea food at sensible prices barbequed over an outdoor fire pit - not to be missed. A paved esplanade offers endless strolls either way with watering holes at regular intervals to sample a cold beer or tapas. The town has not really changed in the past 20 years and still has a traditional feel missing from other Costa resorts. Well worth a visit.
My wife and I decided at very short notice to take a short break in the sun. We are Melia cardholders and chose to stay at the Melia Costa del Sol. We booked directly via the Melia website and got a great room rate. We booked a Level sea view room however when we checked in online we were upgraded to a sea view suite. The hotel is 10 minutes or so by taxi from Malaga airport. Our flight touched down at 7.15pm and we were checked in at the hotel and preparing for dinner by 8pm. Check in was very smooth, friendly and efficient. Once we deposited our luggage we went to the level lounge where we got a warm welcome and a run down of what was on offer as level guests. This is our 3rd visit to a Melia hotel offering the Level experience and we were familiar with the range of services and facilities offered with a Level package. We were impressed previously with our Level experience and certainly Melia Costa del Sol did not disappoint. Our room was fantastic with great sea a pool views. The bathroom and toiletries were of a high standard and the air conditioning was good. The hotel restaurants were excellent and we found the food to be plentiful and of a high quality. Service was friendly and first class. The Level lounge was a great facility providing a very cool calm oasis where you could access an excellent range of drinks and snacks. The Level staff were extremely attentive and welcoming. As Level guests we also had access to a very pleasant sunbathing area. One observation was that some of the Sun beds were slightly bowed which made them very uncomfortable to lie on. However, the area was not too busy during our visit and we simply changed any sun bed we found to be below standard. All in all we had a great stay at the hotel and have no hesitation recommending it to others.
Just had a week here and it was superb staff friendly and courtious lovely area to be in everything at the hotel was great room clean ondaily basis everything you would expect from a Melia hotelwould not hesitate recommending it to anyone there is also a fridge kettle and safe all included in the price which I thought was very reasonable
A very well run hotel, close to the beach/restaurants/shops. Common areas are all marble and glass, well lit, well maintained. 3 lifts service the 9 floors, so very little waiting even at peak times. We booked the level service and weren't disappointed ( a big thanks to Jasmine in the lounge for her help and professionalism). The 8th floor room (818)was large and well equipped, the only downside being single beds instead of the double we requested ( although the beds were very comfortable). Pool towels provided in the room, bath towels changed daily, bedding every other day. Although small, the pool was never too busy, and the upper deck was a perfect place to relax. Premium branded spirits in the lounge from 6pm, all self service, plus a good selection of nibbles and wines throughout the day. Meals in the buffet style restaurant were what you would expect, nothing spectacular but a wide variety, plus free cava at breakfast. The only downside was having to pay for water with the evening meal, which I thought was a bit penny pinching considering we had payed extra for the level service. Also penny pinching was having to hire a bathing cap and flip flops when using the spa, even though we had aklready payed 20 euro access. Strange! A small but adequately equipped gym is available free of charge. Free wifi in the room and public areas, speed surprisingly good. All in all a very relaxing stay and we will probably class this as our hotel of choice on the coast.
I stayed in the hotel with my daughter and wife for a few days. It was not my first time here, but it was the first time after refurbishment. What a change! They have been able to keep the atmosphere of a traditional fishing town but with very modern and comfortable rooms. Views from the balcony are great and the buffet breakfast was outstanding. Location is obviously great for a convenient time in Torremolinos, every spot at walking distance. But what I really want to highlight is how much they made us feel special guests. Every single touch point with hotel staff was great. Reception, pool, restaurant, and the great guest experience manager, Gilberto. They looked at every single detail of our stay and made the best possible for us to enjoy the facilities and our time there. Only improvement point I would mention is that the air condition system in the room was more noisy than it should, hope they fix it for next time. Thanks Melia staff!
This was our second visit to The Melia Costa Del Sol and after such a good 9 nights here in September, we had booked 14 nights this time, again in a Standard room. We had a fantastic warm and friendly welcome from CONCHI on reception and she allocated us a nice room facing the pool and sea on the 4th floor in Block B. (475). What an amazing view and really comfortable carpeted room. Each time we saw Conchi as we passed reception she said hello and asked if we liked the room. She was also on duty when we checked out of the hotel and wished us a good journey and a cheery goodbye. It's things like this that help to make the holiday :) The standard rooms don't have tea/coffee making facilities, but I took my own little travel kettle and there is a mini bar where you can store some milk in. There is also an ice bucket in the rooms, to stock up on ice cubes from the machine on the 5th floor ,by the lifts. Our room had a good shower over a bath, but the refurbished 'executive / deluxe ' rooms have a walk in shower. I prefer the standard room as it has a plug in the sink, which the others don't. Safes in the room are also free and a decent size. And the free Wi-fi worked really well. Toiletries replaced and towels changed daily and the sheets changed regularly. The maids were very friendly and one even showed us around a master suite that she was cleaning ready for the next guests. Very impressive, and wow what a view from those balconies! Would love to book one of those in the future. We stayed half board, and the vast choice of food for both breakfast and evening meal was fantastic and well cooked and presented. Even had the toasters running in the evening to heat up the bread rolls if you wished. The friendly staff in the dining room worked really efficiently to keep the tables cleared . The head waiters lead you to an empty table at busy times, otherwise you choose where you want to sit. Works well! We usually go out in the evening, but returned to the hotel bar a few times before heading to bed. Our last evening there was a really good with guitarist / singer on (Sunday 18th June) . Made even better by a couple of guests getting up and dancing at one point , they were also fantastic and added to the nice atmosphere. The swimming pool was a lot warmer than it was in September, and although small I managed to get a decent swim . We used the gym this time on a couple of occasions. Good quality equipment and water available. Need your key card to gain access. So perfectly placed by the beach for walks either way along the seafront, walks up to town (or lifts which we didn't use) , and a couple of minutes wander to the headland to watch the cats . Plenty of bars and Chiringuitos with minutes of the hotel. With perfect weather, an excellent hotel with fantastic food and staff, it made for a really lovely and relaxing holiday. Well done and thanks to the management and staff yet again. We will definitely be back :)
We have just returned from this Hotel after a 4 week visit we have used this Hotel many times over the last 12 years and each time we are extremely happy with the wonderful service given to us. This hotel offers everything you could possibly want for a relaxing stay, beachside location, excellent food and professional staff. "TEAM WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK" is the key to this Hotel being so popular
Have stayed at this hotel 4 times now and love the location etc. On this occasion however we found the food very disappointing. I think the problem is they are now catering for large touring parties / conferencing that stay one or two nights. The food was almost the same choice every night. Same pasta/ sauce. Salad.Meat.Fish. At breakfast unless you asked for the omelet well done it was uncooked in the middle - very off putting as they were rushing due to the large queue's. On a positive note the hotel is immaculately clean in all areas and the room cleaned to a high standard every day.Staff are friendly and welcoming and plenty of them as well. The best member of staff for us was the pool attendant Ruben who worked tirelessly every day to make sure people had beds and umbrellas. if any one tried to move there own bed he was there straight away doing it for them. We watched him closely as we felt sorry for him because we felt that people were quite rude to him demanding beds umbrellas towels at the busy periods and when he had return from his break at 4pm but he just smiled was polite and just got on with it he deserve's 5 stars 👏. The only other think that got us down was how many people told us they had been upgraded to the Level !!! It would have been nice to be asked as regular visitors but they still got and extra 400 euros that we spent on snacks and drinks from us Would we stay again yes but B & B however we are going for a long week end next May and are considering a change to the Vincci in Benalmadena....maybe they have a Level !!
Great location on the seafront but also not far from the town centre and less than 15 minutes from the airport. The Pool is a little small but other than that this is an excellent hotel. I travel very regularly and the food is the best I've had anywhere - outstanding. I earned rewards and hope to stay at another hotel in this chain soon.
Arrived yesterday earlier than the check in time, we had booked 'the level' got checked in and shown straight to our room which was ready. The room is quite spacious and well equipped. Don't really understand why there is a price list for the mini bar when the drinks are free in the Level lounge. Tea & coffee making all worked well, nice shower and Bluetooth music tower. The Level lounge was good for drinks and snacks, it also did a small breakfast which was all good. The pool was quite small but big enough for me. Overall an excellent hotel close to the beach and town. We are coming back for 8 nights at the end of September but we have booked a standard room. So we will see what they are like (unless Melia have an upgrade for us😉)
