Hotel Baviera3.0 out of 5.0

We booked into hotel baviera for one night. Unfortunately there was no electricity when we arrived which was not the fault of the hotel. The room was well decorated, comfortable bed and very modern with a big balcony attached. The stay would have been good only for the roadworks that began at 7.30 the next morning. The manager who greeted us on our arrival and was there for checkout could do with being a bit nicer and friendlier to his customers.
Although this hotel was beautiful/clean and friendly and the restaurant was incredible, the balcony was a real let down. It was overlooking the busy roads of Marbella and backed on to Burger King so we was always inhaling that fatty smell and smoke. Other than that the room was incredible and the shower was bliss. But it was a bargain and minus the balcony was a good buy for the week.
Picked this hotel for a last minute stay. Room was clean and modern and the wifi was good enough to play Netflix however the big let down was the terrace/balcony. This room should not have been advertised as having one because the door out lead to a small strip of floor which backed directly onto another building. As in you could touch it. The building was of the commercial kind because the generator was also within touching distance along with industrial type stairs which I'm guessing lead to the roof of the other building. The noise was so loud that was couldn't even let fresh air into the room. There were no chairs or tables on this "balcony" either. The room was also very very dark even with the lights on it was difficult to see what you were doing. Reception staff very helpful on the other hand so can't really pick any other faults other than the room we were given. If you want a good location then this hotel is pretty much in the middle of everything.
got a good deal for this hotel in November, the weather was gorgeous. lovely clean and new refurb room, reception couldnt do enough for you, great location. 1 point take tea coffee and sugar, they provide a kettle and cups but nothing else. Great stay
I must say when me and my boyfriend booked a room at the hotel Baviera, we didn't think it would be anything wow after seeing the photos. But we were positively surprised, the room was just excellent. We got a balcony facing the city and sun shining on it. The room was nice and simply, and the bathroom had a really nice big shower. We would the heater in the room also and that you could regulate the temperature in the room. Since we were there in December and at daytime is hot and nighttime quite colds, it was really good we had the possibility to change the temperature in our room. A really good hotel for a quite small price, absolutely worth it!
My wife and I have just arrived home from 2 weeks at the Hotel Baviera and overall we had a really lovely stay, but be aware there are a few issues. So the good points. We stayed in a room that had just been refurbished so everything was new. The bathroom is well equipped (with 2 different shower heads with good pressure), beds are super comfortable. We also had a mini fridge which was nice and a free safe. Staff are really friendly and helpful aswel. The hotel itself is well positioned, less than 10 minute walk to the beach and old town. Our room was at the front of the hotel so had lovely views from the balcony of the mountains. Now for the not so good bits. The hotel does not provide any ironing facilities in the room, however you can obtain an iron to use from reception. However......they have no ironing boards whatsoever! That might not be an issue for some but I wear lot of shirts that I like to be well ironed. Ironing on a towel laid on the floor was not good! Few other issues such as the shower temperature went from hot.....to warm....to cold....and back to hot on a constant cycle. Also be aware that there is no outside handle on the balcony doors, so if it slams shut when you are outside then there's no way of getting back in!! Oh and there is not outside light on the balcony but the wiring is there so maybe they've not got round to that yet. There were other things such as no mirror above the desk and chair so the wife was displeased, also if you don't speak Spanish the t.v won't be of much use in the room as there are very few channels in English. You might be wondering why after all those issues I have given this hotel 4 stars. That is because of the price I paid for our 2 week stay (I got a very very good deal). Had I paid full price for the room the rating would unfortunately be much lower....which is a shame because it is a really nice hotel, with lovely staff and is well positioned but the facilities really let it down.
Stayed here in June 2016 with a group of blokes as one of the cheapest places to stay in the area! Hotel itself is really small. No bar at all was a bit of a shock! Though there were random minitures in each persons room on arrival which was a nice touch (some had gin, others vodka). Room was relativley small but catered perfectly for a group of guys who just needed somewhere to sleep. Room was immaculate and cleaned everyday to high standard. Shower was great - huge walk in. Biggest problem with hotel is the location. Its a 15minute cab ride from port banus and local area is VERY spanish. That being said, they are welcoming enough for Brits nonetheless. You re around a 10minute walk from the old town with some real good Spanish eateries. Overall...... great for budget group holidays.... but dont bring your Mrs! :)
A great place to stay; immaculately clean, regularly serviced, central location for beach, food and bars. Only down side was that we couldn't Pay to stay in the room later in the day but there was storage for our bags do we could still spend the day at the beach. Very helpful staff; a lovely hotel. Would definitely stay again.
My friend and I stayed here for 11 nights but for the last half of the trip, we did all we could to be out of the room during the afternoon. About half way through the trip, my friend (who is Malaysian Chinese-Australian) was alone in the room as the cleaning staff (one named Rosa and another unknown) came in to do their job. They asked where she was from and when she said "Australia" they said no, she was Chinese and began pulling the corners of their eyes back to mock or "imitate" her East/South East Asian features. This went on for some time as my friend, who was shocked and confused, tried to end the conversation but they just kept pointing at her eyes, pulling their eyes back and saying "China! China!". Needless to say, we weren't exactly comfortable with them from this point onwards and started planning our days so as to avoid conflict, even going so far as to wait in the lobby while I went ahead to check that they weren't there. There's really no aspect of a hotel that can overcome being subjected to such awful and blatant racism and I hope that not only will the hotel address this behaviour but other tourists who may not be at risk of being treated this way will consider if they want to stay somewhere that's only polite to them because they're white.
My first trip to Marbella for a girlie weekend. I was a bit apprehensive by reading some of the reviews and the fact there was no pool but was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is conveniently located to the old town, beach and a few shops. 15 mins taxi ride to Puerto Banus 16 euros or a 25 min bus ride for a couple of euros. The room was clean and comfortable. It had a nice big balcony and large bathroom which is always a bonus. Downside no tea/coffee making facilities in the room or hairdryer but thats no major issue. Cheap and cheerful and would definately stay here again. No frills does the job perfectly
