Everything about Banyan Tree was perfect--the view, the pools straight out of a fairy tale, the rooms, the service, the plantation-like main house. The cocktails were delicious, made only with real fruit and alcohol, not sugared up. The Thai restaurant Saffron was hidden in a marsh, a location I had never experienced before, and was perfect from beginning to end. The food was incredibly flavorful and the service was perfect. Our one recommendation for improvement was the main restaurant's buffet nights, which were not that good, cost $100 a person, and did not allow you to just order from the menu. After one mistaken night of that, we just ate elsewhere, so it was fine--we would absolutely come back in a heartbeat!!!!
Extended Easter Break. Location & accommodation fantastic but disappointed by service & food for 5 star. Did not leave water in room & replace tonic despite asked 3 times. No more beach towels by lunch time despite being half full. No coconut drink 2 days running which was on the drinks menu despite the island full of coconuts ! Concierge staff were just like things were an effort, Food so so for a 5 star resort. Really needs a refresh so overall disappointing.
Just honeymooned there and couldn't have asked for a better experience! Everything was amazing! Villas are great, restaurants phenomenal, and amenities spectacular. Only annoyance was the number of wanna-be models doing photo shoots at the pool.
Me and my husband absolutely loved our stay at the banyan tree. The grounds are beautiful and very secluded just what we were looking for. The staff were very personable and very helpful. Our personal favourite was Victor :) We really appreciate all staff that tried to make our stay a pleasant one! We didn’t want to leave!
Wonderful place in a great environment! Beautiful beach, Villas and Pool! Only the Bar on the beach could be bigger and better. Just loved every minute! I'm sure one day we will return! Buggy service was also perfect!
I've longed for another Banyan Tree experience after encountering one in Thailand a few years ago. This did not disappoint. My plunge pool in my room ( a chalet really) was a highlight. The property is a beachfront one and the beach and pool are nice but after a day of work, plunging in my pool and watching the sun go down could not be beaten. The staff is attentive, the food is good and while there is another 5-star resort nearby, this one absolutely rocks!
We absolutely loved The Banyan Tree. The hotel always feels discrete, private and intimate. The location is a dream. The staff were always wonderfully helpful and polite - no request was too much trouble. The food was always excellent whichever restaurant; the Thai (Saffron) totally authentic and delicious, we needed a longer stay to try everything on the menu. The Beach Pool villa’s are great with loads of room and facilities. We have a 5yo Boy who loved the pool and the beach. After holidays in the Maldives and Mauritius I was nervous about how Mahé might compare, but it was better. Loved it all, very sad when it was time to go home and will definitely be going back asap. Would recommend to Couples and families.
The place is unique, the Banyan Tree is an exclusive hotel. The quality of the welcome and the exclusivity of the services make of it human and respectful of the rhythm of its guests. We recomend the Banyan Tree without any hesitation.
I have not experienced such useless staff in my life. They are slow and unresponsive and connot follow instructions. The front office staff should all be removed, they have absolutely no idea how to deal with guests. It really spoiled my stay.
The location on Intendance is quiet, private and beautiful. The most relaxed I'd been on my trip to Seychelles was at Banyan. At the edge of the pool watching the waves, listening to the ocean while getting a massage at the excellent spa facilities, walking in the soft white sand of the beach, everything was almost hypnotic. Intendance was one of my favourite beaches of the trip, and had no problems with seaweed unlike many other beaches I saw. The view from the hill villa was fantastic. The only disappointment was the food. The quality of the lunch and dinner was below my expectations, and the breakfast buffet fairly minimal compared to other luxury hotels. If you're looking for a vibrant atmosphere it's not the right place, but if you're looking for relaxation and chill then it's fantastic.
