I loved this hotel. The service is excellent, all the people helping me were friendly, smiling, helpful, kind, patient and doing a great job. The breakfast was outstanding, they fry the eggs in front of you, the self service area is always filled with new items, there is a choice of european or thai breakfast, loads of fruits, yoghurt... Oh, and the swimming pool, and the quiet room and the nice garden! I want to go back as soon as possible! Only bad thing: the water temperature of the shower was difficult to get: or too cold, or too warm. Wifi was weak too, a new password needed the next day.
I'll start by saying that by Mae Hong Son standards this hotel it pretty good and grandiose. But by international standards is a little lacking. PROS: - Lovely communal areas/grounds - Quite spacious bedrooms - Ok breakfast for the area (not by international standard) - Shuttle to/from airport CONS: - About 1.5km from the centre - Dated bedrooms (but passable) - Dated bathrooms in need of modernisation (shoddy sealant job everywhere to hide damp, yellowing shower curtain, my hot water wasn't working) - Put in rooms with interconnecting doors so sound leaked from other rooms, could hear voices and the TV - Loud fridge, old TV - Put in a room with two (separated) twin beds even though it was just me - Did a bag of laundry and it cost 900 baht!!! That's £20. Absolutely ridiculous I would maybe expect this in the most expensive hotel in London.
This hotel is located just outside of mae Hong son, so it is not ideal if you want to walk around town. The rooms are ok and the shower was great although the bathroom was tired in appearance. Breakfast was self service and acceptable.
This hotel may look big on the outside. The service is at an average level. Room is pretty clean. Very convenient for traveling to other places in Mae Hong Son. The breakfast is a so-so. The parking lot is a bit too small, considering the number of people who are staying at the hotel.
This is a lovely old building that must have been fantastic in its heyday. It's set off the main road in lovely grounds. The room was large and comfortable if somewhat dated and I'd recommend it if you're in the area
The resort, set in a lovely forest gives a relaxing feel . Staff was friendly and warm. Though the location is a distance away from the town centre, there is a free shuttle service that takes the guests to and from town. This is a great plus point! The shuttle bus schedule is displayed near the reception counter. The last bus back from town was 10 p.m during our stay. The breakfast area is very nice, overlooking a small forest, Breakfast spread was great too. Breakfast started early by 7am. and worked out well for us who had to set off early in the morning. The rooms are big, though a bit old and dim. The room had a mouldy smell when we first entered it. The shower was either too hot or too cold, though we followed the steps displayed next to the shower spray, on how to adjust the taps to get the right temperature.
Big hotel with fairly decent amenities off of the main Mae Hong Son road. Room was spacious and surroundings very nice. Unfortunately, the hotel was completely empty and it also felt like it could do with a refurb.
Hotel is beautiful and the rooms are big with a balcony the the pool! The breakfast was very good! The location is far from the center but they have a shuttle bus that takes you to the center and back. No clubs or bars.
I was doing the Mae Hong Son loop on a motorcycle and was tired when I got to the hotel and had not booked anything in advance. But a quick reference to trip advisor while near town got me pointed in this direction. The hotel is probably 30-35 yrs old, and to a degree maintained, but it works. The service was excellent, the breakfast started early at 6am, and was far enough from town center to be quiet but not too far away, all in all a good stay and one I would repeat.
We had a night here as we travelled the Mae Hong son loop as it was a close enough to the town centre. The bed was lovely and comfortable, very quiet hotel and a free shuttle into town. Although I agree it could be updated a little. Yes the floors are wooden and creak a bit, but not exactly a show stopper. It’s very clean and tidy. The pool was lovely and warm even later on in the day and the breakfast was very nice. For the price I couldn’t find any problems with the hotel.
