TRYP Madrid Centro Hotel3.0 out of 5.0

Room quality is not good for price paid. Very small rooms, poor internet connection, old beds and cleaning irregular. Hotel has Fitness area which was closed (empty all the time). Safe box in room was not working.
The feeling you get when, some days after posting your review, you go back to check whether the hotel has responded and you find a completely copypasted response that has so little to do with your review that you actually start laughing… That’s what happened to me some 16 months ago at Tryp Centro. Thanks, ”Joaquin”, and please feel free to copypaste the exact same response once again. Your ”detecting the areas in which we have to focus our effort to improve our services” must have been left undetected, though, because nothing has changed in these 16 months. The hotel still enjoys a great location, the rooms are still small and cheap, the elevators slow, the wifi fast and reliable and the bathtub a plus. Heating is a bit too effective – I found my room far too hot and not even opening the window helped much. Tryp Centro is a very basic three star hotel that you won’t remember once you get back home. Staff still speak good English and breakfast is relatively varied, with some good fresh fruit and a few hot items, too. Let me do some copy-pasting as well in saying that I would recommend the hotel to anyone who appreciates a prime location and doesn't need pampering. A solid and clean three-star city hotel, but don't expect any extras.
Hotel in excellent location. View from the rooms giving to the main street are fantastic. Rooms rather small but comfortable, clean and luminous. Corridors need an urgent refurbishing. Big problem accessing the upper floors because the hotel has only two small lifts to serve the 11 floors: access to breakfast in peak hours is really slow.
Was very hot and the air conditioning was virtually non existent. However the staff was very nice and accommodating 😜🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸the location was ok but if you are in the street side and need the windows open noise is a factor.
Functional hotel with n OK breakfast for a good price but generally looks old and forgotten except the lobby. The chairs and furniture are like some things NG that has been in use for 100 years. Some of it ripped or damaged. The room was clean though and I have to say the sheets were heavenly. Overall an OK in and out hotel in a good location with great value breakfast.
As early senior travellers we found the hotel to be comfortable with very attentive and helpful staff. We were on the 11th, top floor, but found the noise from plant and equipment above us noisy in the early hours making it difficult to sleep. Reception staff arranged for a move to a lower floor without any fuss which was much appreciated. Only has two lifts which are very small and you sometimes have to wait a little time. Breakfast was adequate, if a little the same each day, but nice fresh produce. There are a number of restaurants and tapas bars within walking distance and access to public transport close by. We purchased a 2 day ticket on the city tour bus (hop on/hop off) which gave a good overview of Madrid. Walking tours are also available and you can book spots via the Internet. Guest stays could be improved by provision of a small refrigerator and tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. Would recommend for stays of 2-3 nights
We were there a few days ago. The hotel is clean and is at a great location. The rooms are tiny bit have all you need. It was an extremely busy week in Madrid, so the price was highly than in the regular season. In summary, for a good rate you have a great location and a clean, friendly hotel.
First of all this hotel is in the best location. Being in a city, you'd expect some noise, from the road outside, though this is not that intrusive, except for passing emergency vehicles. The staff are helpful and welcoming. However the rooms, are well, somewhat dated. Having tried another other Tryp hotel in Cologne, this is an unfortunate theme. Given we were in Madrid in 30' heat, the air-con was unfortunately a little hit and miss. To be honest though i have had to experience much much worse in other countries. Move away from this, and you get a good nights sleep at a reasonable price. You pay for the location in fairness though. The breakfast buffet was nice. Lots of fresh food to choose from. If you are adventurous, try the Tapas bar two days away on the left. All in all i would use and recommend this hotel again. Thanks.
The hotel is in great space, in the downtown, near main squares, shops, cafes. Nice bedroom and bathroom, very good breakfast, and polite personel. The lifts are very small, so it takes time to get down to the lobby for a check-out. I forgot something in the room and could not find it when I returned back, a few days after. All in all, still I would say, the hotel is nice for busines or sightseeing in Madrid.
Bright cheery welcome. Staff speak good English and I found them very helpful. Clean room, spotless bathroom. Shower worked fine and steady temperature. Breakfast choices excellent with something for every taste. Would stay here again.
