Senator Gran Via 21 Hotel

4.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Senator Gran Via Hotel is located in the center of town. You can easily walk 10-15 minutes to get to anywhere- Museo Prado, Palacia, Plaza Mayor, Retiro Park...the staff at the front desk could not be more helpful. They arranged dinner arrangements for me and my friends twice- both times the restaurant was great! Rooms are small- but very clean. Lobby area needs a renovation as does the rooftop pool and restaurant.

Friendly staff. clean rooms. Noisy mornings from cleaning staff. Slow WIFi unless you pay extra for better speed.

The location of the hotel was perfect. It was within walking distance of the downtown sights and right next to a metro station. The rooms were very nice -- an older hotel that has been upgraded. The staff couldn't have been nicer. I will definitely go back on my next trip to Madrid.

Clean and simple hotel (interesting internal architecture), great locations, free water and soda daily. No frills really, but affordable and super convenient. Great spot to stay to see the city.

Just right for visiting Madrid. It is close to everything. You feel right at home

The staff was nice. Very small hotel lobby not up to par based on the area located. The rooms are clean but small and there are two twin beds put together to make a queen bed, they would separate in the middle while sleeping. Also they placed one individual shampoo and body gel in the bathroom per day, even though we were a couple. There was no hair conditioner and i regretted not carrying my shampoos for my long hair overseas. I didn't understand why some hotel guests had breakfast included and others didn't! Location is fantastic, you could walk any where from there. Do not travel with children there, there were escorts in every corner!

We liked the location . It was very conveniently located. Hotel staff was very helpful. It was a nice historic building, but it could be little better decorated.

I spent a lot of time on line looking at hotels in Madrid.I was traveling with my mother so I needed two rooms. I chose this one based on past guests and location. You can't beat it. The rooms are plenty big. large closet to put your clothes. A safe. Mini bar with soda and water at no charge and restocked daily. Bathroom with a FULL tub and large. Right outside the hotel is the metro. A few blocks and you have entered rambalas and all the restaurants and shopping you could ask for. Street performers and a short walk to Plaza Mayor with some great outdoor dining. The staff was just wonderful. Assisted my mom with an adaptor to use her hair curler. LOL. What we brought would not allow her to plug in the 3 prongs. I can't say enough about this place and its location and staff. Elevator that zips you right up to your floor. More than expected all the way around.

doesnt have parking lot. public parking lots around are 32 euros ($50 dollars) per 24 hours.

Wonderful location, nice staff with great restaurant recommendations

This hotel is perfectly situated in the city. The rooms are small but that is Europe. Enjoy your stay here!

Very close to shops and the metro, as matter of fact right out of metro station. very convenient. walking distance to theaters, shops, restaurants. Busy area, lot of things to see.

Only one night, but the location is superb. Very clean, nothing fancy (no need to), great to sleep and take a shower. That becomes a plus because you have to go out and enjoy La Gran Vía. Taxis, metro station, 30 to 40 euros to the airport. Watch out with the breakfast not good for the value. We will stay again because of the location and cleanliness, but will have breakfast in a better place.

It's a very good hotel. A little bit old, but in a very good shape. The location is very good. It's in a central location and to be closer to the subway the it is, just being inside the subway... The only thing to consider is that together with some very good bars are some scort girls all the time in the streets in front of the hotel. If it doesn't bother you (it wasn't a problem for me) then this is a perfect hotel.

The location of the hotel is its best feature as it is very near Puerta del Sol, the center of Madrid. It is a very easy walk to Plaza Mayor, another popular tourist area. The staff are very helpful, but do not expect for help with your luggage. The rooms are clean and tidy, water and orange juice drinks are free from the mini-bar. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

Hotel was adequate to below standards. Air conditioner not working first night-very hot and uncomfortable-staff did not fix it until next day. Centrally located on Gran Via within walking distance of shops and restaurants-but you cannot drive up to the hotel to drop off luggage. you have to drive around one-way streets to pull up to the side street which is a prostitute/hooker corner. Their "bosses" and "customers" are also there 24/7. Not a good impression and not a feeling of safety. Personally I do not recommend this hotel environment.

The Senator Gran Via was exceedingly comfortable and the room had so many nice amenities. The hotel room provided free bar service, first time for that experience and the bathroom was large with all types of cleaning supplies. We thoughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this to anyone. The breakfast was superb and the hotel lobby was breathtaking.
