I’m absolutely in love with this hotel! First of all, I read a lot of reviews prior to booking, saying that it’s “in a seedy area,” and the people outside are sketchy/up to no good. Whoever said that is pretty nuts. The area is extremely well-lit, bustling with people all day and night, and while there may be a prostitute or two in the area, you are in a major city, and this location feels like the safest place you could get. It’s convenient to everything; most of the tourist sites are within a 15 minute walk, and the beds/rooms are super comfortable with great touches (a gift tote bag upon arrival, and a complimentary notebook with the hotel logo). Super cool place to store your toiletries hanging in the bathroom, easy climate control, and because I had an inside room, it was extremely quiet (though no view, but that’s why there is an incredible, two-level roof terrace!!) The layout of the hotel is a bit labyrinthine, and it seemed to me like the building was apartments or offices before being a hotel - you need a key to get into each floor, and the hotel shared the building with two other hotels/hostels, though Praktik takes up the most real estate. It’s quirky in a good way, fun, central, and I want to stay here again - and the toiletries are awesome. The ONLY complaint the hotel REALLY needs to address is how slippery the shower floors are. I read other reviews here about it and was like “Seriously this is what people are complaining about?” But as an able-bodied man in my early 30’s, after slipping twice and almost crashing through the glass, the hotel is just asking for a liability lawsuit by not putting a good grip on the floors of the shower stalls. Other than having to watch your step in the showers, it’s a perfect place to stay! Also make those toilette bags available for purchase!

Conveniently located next to the McDonalds at Calle Montero and Gran Via, this hotel is a short walk from the Sol transit station. Reception is on Floor 1, rooms are above by stairs or elevator. There are also hostel rooms in floors above the hotel. It has a spectacular rooftop space for relaxing and viewing the city. Staff was helpful and friendly. The room was rather small, but had an ample bed and excellent bathroom. There was no desk for computer work. Overall an excellent location and a physically attractive hotel with a cosmopolitan youthful vibe. Easy access to the vibrant Gran Via scene. Perhaps a touch high on the price.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and it was great! Beautiful hotel in the Middle of town. We had booked a "Gran Via Corner" and it was simply gorgeous! I was worried about the noise factor, but it wasn't a problem at all. The breakfast was good as well (they stop serving breakfast by 12.00h). Over all it was a lovely hotel. And we will come back for sure!

The location of the hotel is great. I usually like to walk around the cities and this location is perfect. The museums, the place, sol, and good restaurants are all in about a 15min walk. It is about a 30 min drive from the airport, but you are right next to the gran via metro station which connect you to most parts of Madrid. The hotel entrance is hard to find, there aren't any signs, but its right next to the McDonald's. The rooms are quite small, even by European standards. There was not much room left for me to move after my put my suitcase down. As it is said in the hotel description there isn't much in the room, not even coffee machine, water glasses. So don't look for them or complain ! Besides the location, the staff is very nice. Helped me with my visit, directions, calling a cab. The bathrooms are small too, you get the usual toiletries. My bathroom had a weird smell, which did tend to go away after I left the windows open. I read some reviews about the noise level. I didn't find it to be that bad. You are in the heart of the city, on the main road, its bound to be noisy. Overall, it is a decent hotel to stay ...great location, friendly staff

This is my new go-to hotel in Madrid. Located just next to Gran Via it is perfectly located for everything - yet quiet. The staff is very friendly and it has a cosy large chill-out area if ones arrives early.

This is a very nice 3 star hotel with some very nice rooms. Wonderful lobby. Very good for either business or family. Location is superb in the very centre of Madrid. Web page is efficient for booking and what is told abt the rooms is exact. I recommend double room with views to gran via. Big and comfortable and also convenient for working with a nice little table.

Few months ago i heard about Praktik Hotels due my last trip to Barcelona, i followed the instagram account who shows hotels very modern and funky. Finally i had the chance to visit one, Praktik Metropol, the Hotel is well located in Montera Street, one side you'll have Gran Via and other side Puerta de Sol, so you'll be surrounded by touristic attractions, restaurants, tapa bars and coffee shops, no forget lots of shops. Yes, the Hotel it have that funky style and modern decor, on the 9th floor they have a Terrace with nice views from Madrid, open from 9:00am to 00:00hrs. My room was 417, is in a corner at the end of a hallway, right next to the staff door so will heard all the noises from the Maid's cart. Rooms are really small comparing with others in Madrid, after a few hours you'll start to feel claustrophobic, also you can decide if you want to be cold due the A/C or Hot nothing in between. The worst part was the Bathroom, i didn't have sandals to go into the shower so i went barefoot, as soon as closed the door could move due the floor, is really slippery! I slipped and fell down hurting my elbow and leg, so after recover myself, i went down to the front desk to inform what happened, they just asked it was ok and that's it. Those floors are really dangerous, they need to put some plastic mat to avoid this kind of accidents, i have to used a towel as mat. Now i coming back home with souvenirs in my body, bruises in my leg and elbow and lot of pain. Thank You Metropol!

We found this hotel quite basic, very small rooms with no coffee making facilities. The cost was high for the space and standard of the accomodation. It was centrally located. We arrived by taxi which was lucky as there would be no way we could have found it by ourselves. There is a tapas bar downstairs, I can't remember the name but I wouldn't recommend that either as the staff were quite rude.

Amazing value and a great place to base yourself in Madrid. The staff are really friendly and give great recommendations and tips. Cool decor in the lobby and halls and the rooms are nice. The roof is worth a visit for the views.

Great hotel, perfectly located in Madrid. Gran Via metro station right outside. Our room was large with a double balcony, which the only one negative was the flashing lights from the building opposite creeping in through the curtains each night. Bathroom had a big shower and stocked with fresh towels daily and small toiletries. Friendly staff on reception. Huge bonus of a rooftop terrace which we made full use of, comfy lounger chairs and an outdoor shower if needed. Overall a great stay would recommend!
