My wife and I stayed in a lovely corner terrace in this beautiful hotel from 14-19 April 2018. It would be good if there was a small bar fridge in the room and/or cutlery to enjoy snacks in the room. Cleaning of the room was inconsistent, room/bathroom was cleaned daily but the cups/soap were never replaced. The bed was too hard for my almost 15 weeks pregnant wife and as the room looks out onto the street, it would be good if the curtain covered the entire window to block out any street light. Never worked out how to use the room air conditioning either, which never cooled or warmed the room, so we had to open the balcony window for airflow. The furnishings and bathroom facilities were all great, clean and comfortable. Great wifi. I would recommend that due to this hotel’s location, that it would be more better suited for younger travellers. Cheers Adrian & Jonita from Sydney, Australia 🇦🇺
I loved the corner terrace room, nice, clean and airy. The hallway is less convincing, less clean, the internal hall being very hot, the external one very cold. Did less appreciate having to go outside for breakfast in the tapas bar, would have loved a small desk and fridge in the room, or on the same floor.
I traveled with my mom, who uses a walker. To enter the hotel you must upload a couple of steps, which can cause problems. On the other hand, given that the hotel reception is separated from the rooms, for a person who requires assistance, this hotel is not recommended. The room was very comfortable, with a nice view towards the street. The problem was that the reception service was extremely friendly in the mornings (when a girl attends) and very bad in the afternoons and evenings (when one of the boys attends). On the other hand, since the hotel does not have a restaurant, it is desirable that they have utensils so that guests can eat yoghurt, fruit or soup, but they have not thought about this type of detail or are not clear on how to convey to customers what can do or not in the common areas. The location is very good, but if you go out at night it can be unsafe. We tried to take a taxi at 6:30 a.m. to get to the train station and since it was early morning, the atmosphere was very busy and the taxi drivers did not stop. None of this was warned at reception when we asked if it would be difficult to take a taxi to the place at that time.
Awesome hotel! I had a room on the 9 floor where I could see all of Madrid from my room. They also have a 2-level rooftop deck that is AWESOME! The staff is AWESOME! The rooms are comfortable and clean! Excellent location! Will definitely stay here again!
We only had one night in this hotel but we were really pleased with our choice, it's in a great location for the walking round the city centre. We loved the decor and the roof top terrace offers fantastic views across the city.
location is everything, and this location can not be more perfect for walking EVERYWHERE (shopping districts, Caffe's and bars, museums, any and all sightseeing. So was the design, the helpfulness of the staff, everything actually. great hotel, highly recommended
What a wonderful week! We were on the 9th floor (room 904) which has an incredible view south toward Plaza Puerta del Sol. Moreover, we were a dozen steps from the rooftop patio, which looks down upon the plaza where Calle de la Montera meets Gran Via. The main room itself is dominated by a king sized bed, leaving roughly enough floor space to fit a yoga mat comfortably. Curiously, the bathroom was quite spacious. But hey! Who's going to spend all their time in Madrid hanging around in the hotel room? Spare, modern furnishings, but hanging knobs around the room's perimeter were very convenient for stashing backpacks and coats. The staff was very helpful and understanding, following us in English when we were too jet-lagged to speak Spanish, and patient when we did try to speak Spanish. We couldn't have asked for a more affordable place that is central to everything in Madrid.
Brilliant, loved my stay and right in the center of everything. Beautiful decor, wouldn't change a thing. I had an exterior room and had an excellent view of the street. Couldn't recommend enough. The rooftop view is also amazing.
A great choice in a fantastic location on a pedestrian mall just steps away from the Gran Via, the major shopping boulevard. From the street, the hotel looks like an old office building. You have to take an elevator one level up to the reception, where friendly English-speaking staff await. The rooms are spacious with very high ceilings and appear to have had a recent renovation in a modern but slightly rustic style — more Pottery Barn than Ikea. Those overlooking the pedestrian mall have French doors that open onto a small balcony. The room had a comfortable king-sized bed (albeit comprised of two mattresses pushed together — mind the gap) with good quality sheets and a blanket, not a duvet. There was a huge wardrobe and safe, and wooden hooks all around the room for hanging clothes and towels, a surprisingly handy feature for travellers. The bathroom was gorgeous with a modern, rainfall-style shower. (Management should consider putting in some no-slip surface in the shower.) There was occasionally a slight sewage smell in the bathroom. Not sure if that’s a hotel problem or a function of Madrid’s older sanitation system, but not a huge deal. Reliable WiFi but not much English TV, if that matters.
The hotel has a fantastic location just off Gran Via and just moments from Puerto Del Sol and Plaza Mayor on one side and Malasana and Chueca on the other side. The rooms themselves are large with comfortable beds, all necessary in-room amenities and a minimalist Scandinavian design. The staff was super friendly and helped us with our itineraries not to mention a few gratis cups of coffee and tea. Overall we would highly recommend the hotel. We certainly enjoyed our stay.
