Novotel Madrid Sanchinarro

The room was not so big but very cozy, I was on business with my family and they offered me an upgrade to a family room. The breakfast is excellent, with a lot of variety and good products. The atmosphere is modern and the decoration is nice. I hope I will come back to enjoy the swimming pool.

Although this hotel is typical of the Novotel brand, unfortunately my experience of customer service and satisfaction was left wanting on the this occasion. As a Platinum Accor member I'm usually assured of certain benefits: automatic room upgrade, free welcome drink. Neither of these were offered. The smoke smelt badly of smoke even thought there was a no smoking sign. I was glad that I only stayed for 1 night, next time I visit Madrid I will book the Pullman.

Myself, Mum and Sister visited Madrid for 3 days last August and stayed here. It is in a great location as it is a few minute taxi ride to the main centre. There were shops around the corner too. The hotel was lovely inside and out. Even though our room was supposed to be a non-smoking room, it was smelling like smoke from the people who were in there before us when we arrived, but it finally went after a while. The room was a decent size with a double bed and sofa bed. The bathroom was a good size too, but we had to be careful with the shower as it would leak out the front onto the floor, but only a little. The staff were all lovely, and so helpful! The breakfast was very very good, different varieties of pastries, cereal, fruits etc. Outside at the back of the hotel was the pool, it was a good size and had a sunbed area, was never busy and no arguments for sunbeds. The pool was good to cool off in, but it was freezing in there! I don't think I managed to get in fully hahaha! The hotel restaurant was really nice in the evening, the food was lovely and I tried stuff I never had before. A little pricey though, but worth it. All round I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to visit Madrid for a couple days! :)

Given that this is a Novotel it actually has some character and when I arrived around 2300 there was definitely a buzz coming from the bar. The rooms are pretty standard for a Novotel. When I arrived my room had the sofa made up as an additional bed, which I didn't need and was quickly re-assembled as a sofa. A criticism of the the room is that there wasn't anywhere really to put my own clothes away if I didn't want to hang them. The bathroom was quite basic with a shower over the bath, but the shower head was reasonably large and the water pressure was good. There is free wi-fi available and the speed is acceptable. The bed was comfortable with the mattress on the firm side. There is a major road running outside so the higher rooms are more protected from the road noise. Breakfast was the typical Novotel style with a good but not exceptional range of choices and good pastries. The staff were friendly and helpful and were able to organise a taxi when I left.

Staying one night for a business meeting in Madrid city center, location is not ideal due to heavy traffic to and from the city. But if you have business in Sanchinarro offices, great location! Hotel is good for business and clean, and has an ok bar. So I would recommend it if you're working nearby in an office for a couple of time, but not for families and not if you need to meet business people there.

family hotel, FINE, but dont go for their food, its expensive and terribly poor quality its suppose to be a gourmet bar, but if you are a gourmet person and are use to travelling around the world for 100% authentic place for gourmet - this is not a gourmet experience. poor burgers and really a joke to serve . THE place is so pretentious, served by staff who dont have a clue of what they are doing, they definitely need some training in how to be around costumers and to be professional, we ordered a Drinks card as they have a big bar. the waiter said that they did not have a drink card but maybe in 2 weeks time they will have one! i said OK! but what special drinks can you make ? he asked hmm i dont know . hmm ok i asked can i have a glass of champagne, he sid No, then i continue " can i have a glass of Cava" he said .. NO. ok. "what kind of beer do you have" , he answered i have the draught you can see. i said "hmmm but i can see a lot more than draught ones , i see some special beers?" . he said ok and waked away . then he came back with whatever kind of beer they had. i said i did not order a beer but i asked if you had different kind of specials.. in the ed i gave up and he left very RUDE. the rooms are very Ting and the SOFA bed in the rooms are SO poor without a top mattress that is not suitable to sleep in for humans. i WONDER if the staff is aware of it or they just have the opinion thet is only ment for children to sleep so it does not matter! we are chocked. i dont have much positive to say about this hotel than its cozy and suitable for families EXCEPT than the sofa beds are not suitable for no one) the breakfast is OK but if you are used to more attention to details DONT stay at this hotel ONLY if you are travelling and have 1 sleepover until your next flight!

Nice hotel near to offices.. there is also a shopping mall close by 10 mts by walk. Break fast is also good.. however the spring beds in the room are not so comfortable and squeak which is a bit irritating.

always friendly and welcoming staff both on reception and in the bar/restaurant great food $ comfortable room & secure parking. We generally stop off here after docking in Santander on our way south to Vera in Almeria.

After a perfect stay in Granada we expected things to only get better with a 4* Novotel in Madrid, how wrong we were. We stayed for just one night with a series of mishaps. Firstly, one of our rooms was for three persons which meant we needed to use the sofa bed in the room. We had to open it ourselves as the staff didn't come to do it despite complaining. The whole reason why we booked this hotel was it being an accredited establishment on the Warner brothers park website, as my sister wished to take her two children for the day. The positive was the hotel included park entry tickets in the hotel package. The downside - you would expect some sort of shuttle service to be taken to and from the park since the hotel is featured on the website- no such service was available. When we asked the staff why the hotel was affiliated with the park apart from being close(ish) they answered 'we have relationships'. Clearly these relationships don't benefit their customers! The taxi each way was €45 which pretty much makes up for the savings made with booking the Warner bros+hotel package. As for the service, there's a small reception desk which for a Novotel was a bit surprising, one could mistake it for a security guard stand. Getting staff attention can be tricky. The air conditioning in the room was poor, I woke up several times during the night because of the heat despite setting the AC on the coolest setting. The bathroom offered a bar of soap instead of proper liquid antibacterial soap!! The breakfast was the cherry on the cake - it was ok but certainly not 4* standard. I've had Much better in 3* hotels. There's no English breakfast tea, only herbal. I understand the Spanish aren't too big on English tea judging by the offerings outside but a 4* hotel should be catering for this. Overall, quite disappointed and gave me and the family a bad impression of Novotel as an established company. The kids did have fun in the play area at least but I don't think the adults will be returning anytime soon.

The hotel is rather nice. Good pool and excellent food although massively inflated prices - you would be lucky to come away with change from a Ton (100) for a meal for 4 (2 adults 2 kids). We are also talking tapas sized portions which is OK as the food is so rich but for that sort of price you expect a bit more actual food : ) A word to the wise, there is a good deal of food to be had outside of the hotel in Sanchinerro and around and about which surprisingly the hotel search system ( a large touch screen in the lobby) does not highlight (quell surprise)! Staff at the bar are quite clueless - but not totally inoffensive - had an interesting experiance when they thought I did not speak Spanish and decided to deride English people while I was standing at the bar. Not wise people. I guess thats what tripadvisor was designed for ! Overal a good hotel if stupidly pricey for food and slightly so for drink.
