What a great value hotel. Very Clean rooms and very helpful staff. I would suggest learning a few Spanish words as their English is not amazing but it's very easy to communicate. We found great links to Madrid via public transport or taxi, and we found it very cheap too. I would recommend not booking a transfer but just get a taxi from the airport as it's cheaper and there are lots at airport. There is shops for supplies near by and would suggest stocking up on water and milk ect.. hotel was a bit pricy for the essential stuff. It has a vending machine on site and the wifi was acceptable and not too slow. We had a great stay here. I wouldn't necessarily agree with the family friendly status. However if you have older kids the clean pool is great. I would suggest making sure you had footwear at pool tho as it gets very very slippy. We had a one year old with us and unfortunately because there was no entertainment or catering for smaller kids I wouldn't recommend here for kids under 10. However we enjoyed our time here and would go back... minus kids. Thank you for making our trip fantastic.
OK so the hotel is fine - standard etc - but for 190 euros for an overnight stay you really do expect to be able to iron a shirt in the morning so that you don't look a complete mess when you attend your business meeting. There are no irons/boards in the rooms, and when I went to reception at 6am to ask for one he just shrugged and said all 25 were out on loan. This is crap. So, thanks to Novotel I had to stand up and give my business presentation in front of 500 people with a crumpled shirt looking a complete mess.
Nice stay in Novotel. Room clean air conditioning working fine. Staff extra friendly and professional. The location is 10 15 minutes far from the city centre easy to reach with a taxi 15 euro. Breakfast very nice and a small pool outdoor. Overall positive experience
Though the rooms would need an upgrade, the quality is very good for the price. The staff are very friendly, spoke all the major languages, and are efficient, always trying to help. The bar is very convenient for quick drinks and bites, not too much expensive, and of good quality when compared to most of the bars around. The swimming pool is small. There are often big groups from every where in the world, and depending on those groups, the hotel may be very crowded and noisy.
It was the second stay (the first one was in Y2016). We all ( including me, my wife and our two grand children) would like to express our deep satisfaction with what the hotel did for us. Keep hoping to stay in Y2018. Thank you very much!
Spent 4 wonderful nights in Madrid staying here with husband and 2 teenage children. Overall great hotel and would stay here again . Pros ; Lovely pool area , always somewhere to sit whether by the pool or on the terrace . Pool open til late , 9pm, much appreciated as we were there during the 40c heatwave . Very effective air conditioning in room . Excellent choice at breakfast , good service . Never had to queue . Well priced cocktails from bar. Efficient and helpful reception staff . Nicely decorated communal areas downstairs . Hotel near to public transport, area felt safe . Taxi rank nearby, cost us 13€ to get to centre . Tea and coffee tray in room , and fridge. Hairdryer in bathroom Supermarket nearby , aswell as Bugerking Nice 20 mins walk to Bullring Cons; Family room had pull out sofa bed which was slightly smaller than a double , so bit of a tight squeeze for older or taller children. Room had a musty smell. However , excellent value for money for what we paid . Would definitely recommend for families.
Stayed here for a week with my family and ww were delighted with our stay. We found the staff exceptionally friendly abd the interconnecting room we had was perfect. Not quite sure why people complain about the location as its a 2 min walk from a bus stop abd 10 mins from the metro(which is fantastic by the way). We had no issues getting anywhere we wanted to go(and our kids are 10, 8 and 7). Local area very safe and hospitable and easy to navigate. The pool area was great, one of our days we had a pool day and the kids loved it! The only thing we were expecting tgat they didn't have was a working xbox as when we were there the controllers didn't work?! But it hardly ruined our holiday! Overall, a great holiday was had abd I would definitely return.
Clean hotel with lovely, friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent. Pool was chilly but nice. Get there before 10:30 if you want a sunbed!! 10 minutes cab from airport and 25 minutes from Parques de las Avenidas Metro station to centre of Madrid (10 mins safe walk from hotel). €13 for a sangria, beer and a Diet Coke. Recommended.
No nonsense hotel located 15 min from Atocha (~12 Euros) and close to Las Ventas bull ring. The area is mostly residential, but you can find couple of restaurants up the road within 5 min walk. Mostly connected by taxis and bus. The hotel itself was quite comfortable, good breakfast buffet etc. The rooms do not provide body lotion which you may want to buy from outside. Helpful staff.
This hotel can be summed up by the photos attached - its the simple things that are broken and shouldn't be. We went away for a few nights break in Madrid and already knew the hotel was in a location out of the city centre and so ruled out enjoying the nightlife easily or getting a really nice meal. All we wanted was to see the sights of Madrid in the mornings (which we did - fab!) and then head back to enjoy the sunbathing and maybe relax in the pool in the afternoon/evening. Sadly we were very disappointed. Pool area is way too small for the number of rooms and guests the hotel has. Totally insufficient amounts of sun loungers and poolside umbrellas (half of which were broken - see pics and to which the pool attendant/lazing sunbather shrugged his shoulders when asked if he could help me fix them. Note he also asked my partner to cover up even though she had a bikini and t shirt on when going to the bar, yet other parents let their pre teen daughters openly walk round topless and the pool attendant said nothing to them.) Basically its just hundreds of kids using the hotel and pool as their own private playground. Rooms were dated bog standard Novotel fare with tiny TVs, worn out beds and a lovely smell of sulphur/drainage each time you turned the sink tap on. Air con fans need an overhaul as way too loud when on highest setting in the room. No air con either in communal hallways and landings on each floor. As to food, repetitive menu and even lacked affordable tapas in the Spanish capital of all things or a decent help yourself buffet offer that other Novotel's in European capitals often do provide - especially when they have captive audiences due to poor locations. In summary, other than a small handful of staff who tried their best, this hotel is definitely best avoided - unless of course, you have a load of hyperactive, screaming kids you want to take on holiday...
