Although it took me a while to locate the entrance of Madrid SmartRentals (signage not big enough) however we had a fantastic stay in the highly secured and comfortable apartment. In fact i will definitely book this place again the next time I am at Madrid. Complete home facilities are available for those who prefers privacy but also the need of daily necessities like a washing machine cum dryer. Location is perfect and the train stations are within walking distance. We took the renfe from and to the airport and saved a heap on taxis.
The apartment was clean.. And spacious we will surely come back. Its in a great location. The only thing was that we had to wait over one hour to check in but they gave us vouchers for free breakfast during our stay. All in all we are satisfied with the rental. Can't beat it for the price
We were looking forward to our stay in your apartment. Unfortunately, we can't recommend it for various reasons. 1) we were unable to travel because Hurricane Maria devastated the Island of P.R. where we live. 2) the airport was closed for several days as it was inoperative and all flights were cancelled. (We were able to cancel all other travel arrangements receiving a refund or a credit since we were victims of an Act of Nature. 3) We WON'T recommend your facility because your policy of no refund no matter the circumstances. It is be considerate with the misfortunes of others. Not recommended.
We have stayed there me, my wife and my two kids for one night and here is my feedback First the hotel not easy to find and you need a driver who knows madrid very well so he could find the hotel in the middle of the buildings Second the area not suitable for kids since the area is famous for the LGBT and specially in the night . The time of check in and out is not fair, check in time is 3 pm and check out 11 and you have to pay for every each hour you like to stay, the reception is till 7 pm so if you need any thing you have to call out of hours No cleaner in the hotel and you have to through the garbage before you leave. For me its not good service and i don't recommended unless you can't find any place to stay.
(+) The property was in a good location, within about 20mins walk from pretty much anywhere of tourist interest in Madrid. Therefore it makes a good choice for a city break. The apartment was clean and tidy, and the staff were very helpful. It was well equipped with kitchen equipment, and the wifi was decent. The property also arranged to pick us (3x adults) at the airport and take directly to the apartment at a fair and reasonable price. (-) Its a small thing, but the apartment had only one mirror - in the bathroom. This can lead to delays as doing hair and makeup can take a bit of time!. A problem that is easy solved with the addition of a mirror in the living area and/or bedroom. While not the responsibility of the property, there can be a lot.of street noise - especially at the weekends, so intending travellers might consider requesting an upper floor or inwards facing apartment.
I am just back from a recent stay 5-night stay in apartment 4D. The major advantage of this apartment is that it is situated a mere 5-minute walk from the Gran Via (the main street in Madrid). Additionally, you can walk to the apartment from the bus stop at Cibles where the airport shuttle bus goes through for five euros, a great service used it twice. The apartment itself was reasonably equipped, we just ate breakfast in but there was scope to cook lunch and dinner. There was plenty of space and the room felt airy, I liked the New York loft style layout. There was also plenty of storage space for clothing and suitcases, the a/c was a bonus as it was very warm. My only criticism would have to be the lack of handrail on the staircase which resulted in a fall by one of the older people with me. This is quite dangerous as there is no support when ascending or descending the stairs. I would most likely return but to a different style of apartment there was one that took my fancy on the first floor.
The apartment was very nice and well located near the Gran Via, plenty of restaurant around for breakfast and dinner. Very noisy at night, even with ear plugs. Staff very nice, they try to help you as much as they can. Be aware that besides the noise, check in is at 3:00 PM. The apartment was modern and well furnished, bathroom clean, kitchen had all basic utensils.
Great location and clean apartment. Difficult to sleep without ear plug because of noise from the streets which is very common for apartments in downtown of Madrid. Supermarket, drugstores, and all facilities are within 200 to 300 meters which is very convenient for everyone
Booked direct as was cheaper than a well known common bookings site. The staff were unfailingly helpful positive and great. Loved the apartment well equipped designed great location air con new kitchen really high standard . Had read in a early rewiew hot water was limited not the case power shower and washing machine if that's your sort of thing. You could have drained the El Atazar and still had plenty left. Would recommend & the WiFi was high speed so you could travel toons of the most dynamic and beautiful cities in the world and stay in yr room tweeting lol
We stayed during World Pride in apartment 1D in Calle San Marco 8. The bedroom balcony looks straight down Calle Pelayo which was certainly the center of the street party in Chueca. To us, it was amazing. You could sit in your own space and watch the whole party. If you wanted a quiet get away this would have been a problem. The noise levels when we eventually wanted to go to sleep was easily overcome with a set of earplugs. I would most definitely stay here again during such an event. The apartment is modern and furnished with flair. The bathroom only has a shower but that suited us. The kitchen had all the utensils that was needed to make basic food including an oven. The bed and bedding was very nice. There were 2 pull out beds under the couches in the lounge that had rather thin mattresses that I thought could be rather uncomfortable for a fair sized adult. There is no full length mirror in the place. The staff at reception were always friendly and helpful. We arrived in Madrid early in the morning and left late at night. Before and after check-in and check-out we were able to leave our luggage at another of their properties in Gran Via at no charge that certainly made our lives easier. The property is about halfway between Chueca and Gran Via Metro stations and within easy walking distance from either.
