I came to Madrid t see the stadium. This is a good choice fro one-night stay. there are no special stairs for luggage so this is a little buzz. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. comfortable, good price, breakfast is not complimentary small, old furnished rooms. they are good for youth. no need for more. About 10 minutes walk from the Santiago Bernabeu football ground and 15 minutes from the metro.
Comfortable hotel, not luxury but good value for money. Plenty of bars and restaurants in the area. Also, a choice of nearby metro stations. About 10 minutes walk from the Santiago Bernebeu football ground and 15 minutes on the metro from Alvarado station to the centre.(Sol.) I would go back.
Very friendly and helpful staff. But everything is old, dark and had to be renovated urgently. The breakfast was fine but the room terrible more like a train station. For one night okay but not for a longer stay.
If you are a soccer lover and need a cheap place to crash this will be ok for a night . Friendly staff and a good breakfast , within walking distance from the Bernabeu. Good choice of restaurants in the area, but the place is dated and confortable beds are non existent.Better sleep on the floor ! The place will close and remodeled in April . Let's hope so !
This hotel is dated, the lobby isn't too bad when you first come in but let's be honest and say the rest of the hotel needs a complete revamp. They have however replaced the TVs in the rooms to more updated ones. The rooms are quite small but are ok if you're only going to lay your head there. To be fair it's pretty clean around the whole place and the cleaner came in both days we stayed. You get a couple of essential toiletries including soap, a toothbrush, toothpaste etc. The beds are pretty hard to lie on and the 'duvet' if you can call it that is like an old blanket from Grandmas house. There is no kettle in the room which would have been nice but there is a mini fridge. I would say the hotel is ok if you're only staying a night or two but personally I wouldn't book it again. The area around the hotel is nice and there are plenty of shops. There is a shop called 'Dia' around the corner which we found ok for some snacks. If you're staying in the area please visit the shop called 'MUNDO BAZAR' it's got so many cool things in to check out. We spent nearly €100 in there because everything is a bargain! Really recommend it. Also 'El Corte Ingles' is really special so check that out. Back to the hotel, didn't sleep great to be honest because of the walls being so thin and the beds so hard but anyway it's ok so if you're on a tight budget then book it and try for yourself. I'm not fussy when it comes to hotels but my honest opinion is it's not good really. The breakfast is a bit of a dud as well so I wouldn't get that either. Anyway I'm going to go back to my room from the 70's now so see ya bye
It's not a modern one but Not bad at all, the room and bathroom is quite big and clean. The thing is you never really need an alarm clock to wake you up, early in the morning.. you can hear every 6am on the other room preparing, talking taking shower etc....it's good also for transpo.
...or better say, the time stops here. From the outside, ok. But when u step inside...hotel looks like, back in the days of Chicago mob days. It is not 4*, i say it is more, really bad 3*. Only one thing is good, it is close to the Santiago Bernabeu, and that's it. Need to change something...not much...but think JUST ALL what is inside. The view from the room :-(, terrible, you look to another building. Room...old, carpet...old...TV is old as my grandparents...u don't need to bring USB if your kids want to watch cartoons. What else U can say...hm. Breakfast, ok, here is nothing bad to say. U got a lot to choose. So..after all, to visit Madrid football game or just visit a museum and that's all YES. But if you want to see more, stay longer... in that hotel NO. And one more thing...if you send postcards...DO NOT LEAVE IT AT THE RECEPTION...find the post office. I was there in begining of november...still no postcards. ???
If you are going to watch Real Madrid its a great location for 1 night, just a 10 min walk to stadium, but otherwise I wouldn't stay here again. The hotel itself is presentable and clean and the staff were friendly enough but as others have commented its hard to believe that this is a 4 star hotel. My biggest issue was the poor soundproofing of rooms, you can hear everything in rooms either side and above so I heard a couple talking on Skype late at night and could hear their conversation. Flushing of toilets, showers and baths running and coughs and sneezing could all be heard. Also the beds are far from comfortable and together with the noise did not get good quality of sleep. It was not a bed you could come back to at night and really feel comfortable lying on even to relax. I didn't have breakfast, 12 Euros seemed expensive when you can get coffee and pastries elsewhere for less than half the price. Its also a fair way into the city with a 10 minute walk to metro and a further half hour journey so you need to factor this in and in future I would stay nearer to the city. It is easy to get to directly from the airport with the Nuevos Ministerious metro 10 minutes walk away and direct link to airport.
I can't really understand the hotel ratings in Spain, have stayed at the 4 star NH hotel and stayed at this 4 star Hotel and they are the opposites! For me this is a definitely between a 2 to 3 star hotel. As a hotel it is not that bad, you have all amenities, staff is helpful and friendly. Food was good, hotel is clean. It gives you the impression that it is an old hotel, doesn't have any modern fittings or furnishes, tv is very old. We have had an early check out and they prepared a packed lunch for us, as we left before breakfast opened. a good choice of food for breakfast, believe me I stayed in a far worse hotels. Rooms are big. Bathroom is also spacious.
We have just returned from this hotel it looks nice in the web picture but believe me its not as nice in the real world, the hotel is very dated, when we arrived we managed to check in without a word of English the reception staff were not willing to try.it advertises that there is a bar there is a door that says bar but when you ask you get sent over the road to a cafe bar, there is no mini bar as advertised, breakfast in the morning's were awful scrambled egg was cold even the fresh stuff that was put out, getting a fresh pot of tea when the pot was empty was a task the two waiters just looked and nodded, I don't think they enjoy their job. This is NOT a four star hotel as advertised..
