It's not a modern one but Not bad at all, the room and bathroom is quite big and clean. The thing is you never really need an alarm clock to wake you up, early in the morning.. you can hear every 6am on the other room preparing, talking taking shower etc....it's good also for transpo.
...or better say, the time stops here. From the outside, ok. But when u step inside...hotel looks like, back in the days of Chicago mob days. It is not 4*, i say it is more, really bad 3*. Only one thing is good, it is close to the Santiago Bernabeu, and that's it. Need to change something...not much...but think JUST ALL what is inside. The view from the room :-(, terrible, you look to another building. Room...old, carpet...old...TV is old as my grandparents...u don't need to bring USB if your kids want to watch cartoons. What else U can say...hm. Breakfast, ok, here is nothing bad to say. U got a lot to choose. So..after all, to visit Madrid football game or just visit a museum and that's all YES. But if you want to see more, stay longer... in that hotel NO. And one more thing...if you send postcards...DO NOT LEAVE IT AT THE RECEPTION...find the post office. I was there in begining of november...still no postcards. ???
If you are going to watch Real Madrid its a great location for 1 night, just a 10 min walk to stadium, but otherwise I wouldn't stay here again. The hotel itself is presentable and clean and the staff were friendly enough but as others have commented its hard to believe that this is a 4 star hotel. My biggest issue was the poor soundproofing of rooms, you can hear everything in rooms either side and above so I heard a couple talking on Skype late at night and could hear their conversation. Flushing of toilets, showers and baths running and coughs and sneezing could all be heard. Also the beds are far from comfortable and together with the noise did not get good quality of sleep. It was not a bed you could come back to at night and really feel comfortable lying on even to relax. I didn't have breakfast, 12 Euros seemed expensive when you can get coffee and pastries elsewhere for less than half the price. Its also a fair way into the city with a 10 minute walk to metro and a further half hour journey so you need to factor this in and in future I would stay nearer to the city. It is easy to get to directly from the airport with the Nuevos Ministerious metro 10 minutes walk away and direct link to airport.
I can't really understand the hotel ratings in Spain, have stayed at the 4 star NH hotel and stayed at this 4 star Hotel and they are the opposites! For me this is a definitely between a 2 to 3 star hotel. As a hotel it is not that bad, you have all amenities, staff is helpful and friendly. Food was good, hotel is clean. It gives you the impression that it is an old hotel, doesn't have any modern fittings or furnishes, tv is very old. We have had an early check out and they prepared a packed lunch for us, as we left before breakfast opened. a good choice of food for breakfast, believe me I stayed in a far worse hotels. Rooms are big. Bathroom is also spacious.
We have just returned from this hotel it looks nice in the web picture but believe me its not as nice in the real world, the hotel is very dated, when we arrived we managed to check in without a word of English the reception staff were not willing to try.it advertises that there is a bar there is a door that says bar but when you ask you get sent over the road to a cafe bar, there is no mini bar as advertised, breakfast in the morning's were awful scrambled egg was cold even the fresh stuff that was put out, getting a fresh pot of tea when the pot was empty was a task the two waiters just looked and nodded, I don't think they enjoy their job. This is NOT a four star hotel as advertised..
This hotel is not worth of 2* by all means. Definitely my worst hotel experience of my life. They should close it - immediately. Staff at reception terrible - not attentive st all - rooms super old - I did not sleep not one night due to lowest quality mattraces - and what was really dissapoiting or I would say a real disaster - breakfast. You as a guest are nothing there I had a feeling that us the guest we should satisfy the staff needs. I did not complain - as in a hotel like this I can imagine the general manager and this is something I did not want to experience. This hotel is a bad joke !
Arrived late at night to be told nothing available to drink, mini bars not in use - all we wanted was water - offered nothing at all. Breakfast good if you got down when hot food available, as it was not replenished very often.
Old hotel near Real Madrid stadium, needing urgent reform. Bathroom with poor conditions. Poor breakfast. To have a cathodic tube TV set and a small fridge in the room shouldn't be enough to grant four stars...
The hotel is very old with fitted carpet everywhere. It looks like a 1970s movie set. Bath gel comes in blisters, and this says it all. Well positioned though, but definitely.not a 4 star hotel. Luckily there's a nice pastry just in front of it that allows to avoid the pretty average breakfast buffet.
I stayed there last September for five nights. The room was in second floor a small one bed room without balcony, with only a window without view...The bed was good and has a small mini bar,a safe with key,a big wardrobe and a press for trousers. The bathroom was clean and big.The furnitures are old and all the hotel i think is not 4* but 2*.Maybe was 4* before 15 years but now not...For five nights i payed 240 euros,i think is expensive...The area is safe and near to mero station "Nuevos Ministerios".The stuff is friendly. The big disadvantage in rooms is the nonexistence of insulate. You can hear all the noises from the rooms beside...
