The location was great close to everything, but the shower was either moldy or dirty then silicones over it. The bathroom door stop was right where you stepped out of the shower/tub combo. The toilet was literally 3 inches from the wall once you sat down. The beds where extra hard & the next door rooms light came right through our vent & shined on your face as you tried to sleep.

Good as always. I've stayed here for Thee years nic

This hotel needs a refresh, it's in tired condition. The rug in my room had holes worn into it, and the hallway carpeting was dirty & stained. Aside from that, it was comfortable, in a good location, and very quiet (I had a fourth floor room). The wifi connection was very limited though.

Staff in the hotel not very nice. Carpets in corridor are very dirty. Nice restaurant but food was not very good.

Excellent stay, staff helpful, close to major attractions

This is certainly not a 4-star hotel. I tend to subtract two stars from whatever Orbitz assigns. Good points: lovely staff, wonderful location (just off gran via, 15 min walk to museums), elevator, free wifi, blackout curtains, and a shuttle service to airport (12€). Bad points: terribly uncomfortable bed and pillows, very outdated, miserably inconsistent water temperature (for every 15 seconds at the temperature I wanted, followed 15 seconds of cold, regardless of time of day). Overall, for the price I paid (65€/night), it's probably hard to beat.

Without any questioning us , they put us in the "japanese floor", where the beds were uncomfortable, the furniture very small and cheap and the lighting very low also. When we requested a different room they said that is all that was available

Very good hotel and the staff was great. We asked for a quite room and were able to keep the windows open and we slept soundly.

Very good location. Friendly staff, great 2nd floor bar, small but clean individual room

This small but breat hotel met all my expectations. I notice some great modernization like a 2nd elevator. When on several day tours while in Madrid. Great location!

Nice locations , friendly personal, Brekfest continental , recommend for Business trip

We were satisfied with our stay and we actually missed it after we moved on to other hotels when traveling through Spain.

When we arrived we were so exhausted from the Madrid heat. The front desk employees were very personable and helpful and got us on our way promptly. When we reached our room, the cold from the air conditioning was exactly what we needed, followed by the shock and awe when we opened our curtain windows and saw the view we'd have of the gran via for the next few days. The room was the perfect size. They have a cute lounge area with computers and printers at your disposal on the 2nd floor that came in handy when printing our boarding passes and breakfast was delicious (although it was a bit pricy). All in all, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely look to stay again someday.

I had a good time there. thanks everything was very nice there.

The room was tiny, with a wooden floor. When I asked for a bigger room, I was told to pay 35 additional Euros per night. The bed was uncomfortable, set in a corner. The room stank and when I saw the cleaners spray air freshner in a neighboring room I requested it for mine but they plainly refused. Old style tv with very little choice. Internet login had to be requested only for 24 hours at a time. Only once did I get it for 72 hours. At least this room was no way near 4-star.

the hotel location was good, and also finally the internet connection, but they haven't advise my room was for smokers!!!! terrible experience, it's smell terrible

First the negatives. Room is pretty small. I believe the bed is even smaller than a twin. Everything else about this place I liked. Perfect location. I was inbetween everything I wanted to see there. Looks nice. I loved the breakfast. Big selection of meat. Oh yeah, very small elevators. If you're not claustrophobic this place is great for the value.

Perfect location. Exellent staff. Not big rooms, but they do the work. Excellent breakfast. Enjoyable.

Stayed one night for their proximity to downtown and their airport shuttle service in the morning. Everything went smooth; could not have asked for better service.

My husband and I were on a two week vacation in Paris and Spain. Madrid was our final stop and up to that point so far, all our hotels were exactly what we were expecting. Unfortunately, that was not the case for the Best Western Arosa. We walked into their tiny lobby/reception area, and were greeted warmly. We had requested a non-smoking room, and we got assigned a room that we could hardly breathe because of the smoke. Not only was the room smoky, but the whole floor was hard to be in. My husband has severe allergies, so we went back to the lobby and requested a different room. They gave us a non-smoking room, but now we had single/twin beds instead of a full/queen bed. They said we could exchange the room the next day, but then we found out that the temporary room we had was a JAPANESE STYLE room which was more expensive and if we moved, we were going to be assigned a regular room. The bathroom was so crammed and you almost had to stand in the tub to be able to close the door. Beware of the pictures as they are deceiving… it looks like all the rooms are of the same quality, but they are not. Before selecting a room, scroll down to see the full list of options. Their regular rooms are not the same quality as their JAPANESE STYLE. Overall, the hotel is in a great location and the service was average. Either get the upgraded room or don't spend much time in the room – otherwise, look for another option.
