Very nice people at the front desk. They were helpful with things i needed and transportation. I arrived very late and it truly is 24 hour check-in. The room was clean with a decent amount of space. The location is excellent for someone who wants to walk around and sight see. It's convenient to many restaurants and a few steps away from the plaza de espana metro.
Pros Superb location Very Spacious Nice to look out of the window and looking at the Gran Via Cons Free Internet was bad, bad, bad Dated feeling Lifts are not so good Bathroom also felt dated Can be noisy as the double sided windows are not "enough" to handle Gran Via´s noise
Great location on Gran Via near Plaza de Espana so very easy to navigate the city from here. Rooms are good - with fridges, hobs, microwaves, safe. Nice and clean. Tiles around bath need re-grouting or a good bleaching and sufficient toiletries are provided. If breakfast is included great, buffet with pastries toast eggs bacon sausage fruit. More options right outside the door if you like getting out. I have two little gripes. On a 3 night stay I put hand towels in bath to be changed on 2nd morning and they were re-hung on the rails. Also...The shower is in the bath, excellent pressure btw, but the sides of the bath are quite high with no easy to reach hand rail for assistance. My big black knee as a result of getting out is not attractive so if you're not very limber see if you can get a room with stand alone shower ;)
Quick summary below ! Location excellent ! Cleanses good Rooms ok , bed linen wasn't the cleanest but other than that good Very business at reception was waiting long time to Check in One key per room which is a problem when with a group - big issues! Breakfast ok .. better going next door they have fab breakfast for €5 Staff good but night staff so rude Would stay again but basic hotel .
Stayed in this hotel 5 nights mid May. Fantastic location close to all the sights you wish to see. Hotel is located at the end of the gran via, can be quite noisy but that is what you expect staying somewhere so central! Room is great and very spacious with a free safe and air con which was a bonus!! Staff are fantastic and very helpful with any requests. Taxi costs €30 to and from airport. Cocktail bar next door to this is fantastic and is a must!! Would definitely stay again as we found this a steal for what we paid!
The location of this hotel is excellent, located very centrally to all of the local theaters and restaurants. The amenities were clean, with a mini kitchenette and facilities for tea and coffee. The bathroom was clean and spacious, enjoyed a lovely bath one evening after a long day. The rooms themselves are of a more traditional decor, but still comfortable. The only downside was a lack of an iron/ironing facilities. We were told there was only 4 between all the rooms in the hotel and had to go hunting off other guests.
Spent two night here with my wife. The location is fantastic, close to metro and a short walk to the centre. The room we got was lovely and spacious. The breakfast was OK, but for the price you pay, we expected more although Paco - the breakfast manager - was so helpful and kind! Overall, the hotel is pricey so not sure if it's best value for money and there is a funny smell of cheap cleaning products throughout the hotel.
Good hotel for exploring Madrid. Perfect location, rooms are not the most modern but they are really clean and well equipped and the beds are good. Small kitchen area is a bonus if you need it. Great shower too. Staff are efficient and helpful. Easy to get to by metro and felt safe and relaxed here. Would recommend.
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and we were happy with the location, just a stones throw from the theatres and transport. The room can do with an update, but we were happy there was a kitchenette, although, strangely, no kettle/jug, but there was a microwave. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a little restaurant attached to the hotel, serving breakfast and lunch at a very reasonable price, but limited hours.
The big advantage of this hotel is its perfect location in Gran Via. Staff troughout the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Room was in the upper floor, quite large, however no views as windows just on the roof. Breakfast was ok, nothing special, but enough to start a new day to discover Madrid. Only negative point : a lot of steps until you reach reception, very difficult when you travel heavy as we did.
