Good hotel. Not new but modern, well located not far from the subway, easy access to the new part of Madrid. It is not in the old town center but it is convenient for the business and the IFEMA fairgrounds (20 min. with 2 lines) . Although on a heavy traffic road a quiet sleep (10 floor) Spacious room and bathroom (tub) and very good sleep. Wi-Fi ok. A good and varied breakfast and smiling and helpful staff who speaks perfectly many languages.
Had the opportunity to stay at this facility for a few days and was not disappointed. Had a room that was facing the main street and at times it was a bit noisy. The rooms are very nice and roomy. The location is very close to stores and restaurants. The staff here was very friendly, cordial and helpful. The restaurant provides some very good food and the staff is very accommodating.
The hotel is situated a little way from the centre of this interesting city so away from the noise. Our room 302 was absolutely lovely with such a comfortable bed and wonderful pillows. The dining room is large enough to accommodate the n7mber of guests( 12 floors), althoughis does get crowded. Breakfast was delicious with a huge variety to suit every need. Evening meal was also really good although sweets are “different” but our guide did say pudd8ng in Spain are unusual.
The hotel was all that we expected and no surprises - Good clean rooms, good service, We had a small group and they looked after all 15 of us. A good city hotel and well located near the Metro station and supermarket etc.
We recently used this hotel for people attending a Congress in Madrid. The hotel was fairly well located for the Congress, however the hotel itself was more a 3 star hotel. The facilities were poor, no tea/coffee making facilities, no iron or ironing board which you need when you're away for a week on business. The bedrooms were sparsely furnished & the beds were lumpy & uncomfortable. I would say it's OK for a short overnight stay only.
I prefer other places in Madrid but used this hotel as the others were booked. I had a big room with a big window giving me a nice view to Eurobuilding. There is lots of traffic in the area but the windows were well sound proofed so it did not disturb me. There is a minibar and a trouser press, yet no tea and coffee tray and no iron. Bathroom was ok, plenty of toiletries (of lower quality to be fair). Bed was ok too, it had sheets and some woolly blanket, not my choice really but it´s a Spanish thing. Check-in was somewhat slow as the reception was understaffed on a busy day. Receptionists were friendly and helpful. Would give 3,5 stars if tripadvisor let me.
I stayed at the Abba on a business related trip. The bed was comfortable, and the room clean, as was the bathroom. Although it fronts on a busy road, the room was well insulated and quiet. Breakfast was good. There are good restaurants within a short walk, and a reasonable walk lands you in Salamanca with its great shops and restaurants. The area surrounding the hotel is safe, although it is not appealing visually as it fronts on the busy street. The hotel is not luxurious, but it is a pleasant place to stay and I would go back if I had meetings in he area.
Safe location, outside of city center but close to Metro stations. Front desk was so helpful with alternate transportation recs due to Subway and taxi strikes last week. Yay, Abba! We've used this chain throughout Spain and been happy in all locales.
Good hotel. Reception helpful as needed. Clean. Rooms fine with great views over the city if you are above floor 7. Breakfast ok, usual for a foreign hotel. Convenient for public transport, both metro, airport bus and also bus into city centre. Will be going back again.
My story: I left San Francisco on April 28 to come to Madrid. I missed the point that I would arrive to Madrid on April 29, and I booked a room for April 28 at 94EUR on Expedia. That was my mistake. When I arrived on Apr 29 I was offered a room at 142EUR. The hotel employees didn´t want to give me any discounts. I ended up paying 236EUR all together for a night on Apr 29 for a very average room. I don´t think that should have been charged so much for 1 night. I was not treated fairly by the stuff. It was my first time in Spain, and the trip didn´t start on a good note.
