Overall pretty over priced - get an Airbnb over this. The high points: the staff was super friendly and helpful at all times, the hotel itself is beautifully restored and the location is great. Low points: the bed was not comfortable, the room was almost hard to walk in it was so small, our tub was broken and the 24-hour room service mentioned was technically available, but there were only 5ish things on the menu. We left and stayed at an Airbnb that was 3x the size, at an even better location, with a balcony a view, jacuzzi tub and same sized bed for less than half the price.

I can 't say enough about the staff...helpful, accommodating, and personable. The location of this hotel is perfect...adjacent to a beautiful park, a couple of blocks from the museums, two blocks to the Metro and a short walk or Metro ride to the city center. Also, I found the rooms rather large for European hotels. However, with all of the positives, there were a couple of things missing that I have come to expect in hotel amenities: in room coffee service, and an iron. Traveling for business I really needed an iron to press my shirts for my daily meetings and since I did not see one in the room I assumed there would be one available from the staff but that was not the case
The hotel was in a quiet part of Madrid, across from the beautiful park Retiro. The rooms had a zen quality - sleek, modern, extremely quiet and comfortable. The desk staff was superb. They booked our trains for us and even told us the best seats to get for less. The free mini-bar in the room was a real treat after a long, hot day of sightseeing. We spent 4 great and restful nights at this hotel and would certainly return.
