I was very impressed with my stay at the Clarion. I only booked one night to try it out and then went to one of the clarions largest competitors for the next night and they could not compare with our stay at the clarion. The rooms are spacious and clean, the bedding is comfortable and the staff are very friendly and accomodating. We were also there for the seafood buffet night and OMG it was amazing. I would say it is the freshest and most well presented seafood buffet I have been to. The selection is astounding and the seafood plentiful and fresh. I will definitely be back and recommend the clarion to others without hesitation.
A very peaceful and clean hotel, staff very professional and extremely friendly. Rooms clean and spacious. Free Shuttle bus from Mackay Airport. Excellent eating places. A great place to relax and enjoy the water views. Service excellent, cleanliness excellent, and value fantastic
What an awesome night. Seafood buffet was delicious. Jarrod and staff looked after us very very well and because we had such a great night we had to stay and again the night staff helped us out with a room. We will be back and highly recommend to others.
What a perfect way to enjoy our anniversary staying at the Clarion Hotel. The room was modern and the spa bath was luxurious. The view from the balcony is very calming. Would definitely stay again the service was professional and friendly. Close to all the great restaurants or you can order room service if you don’t feel like leaving the room.
Excellent accommodation overlooking marina. Clean spacious rooms, plenty of free pay tv channels to choose from and free WIFI, good selection of restaurants within walking distance. Grounds very neat and tidy. Friendly helpful staff. Expensive but you get what you pay for mostly :)
Stayed here for one night with my wife. Enjoyable stay in a very standard hotel. Location is perfect, right on the beach. There are also some restaurants there in walking distance. Rooms are small and very standard, but nothing wrong with it.
We stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. We were a little worried when we turned up an all we could see was scaffold around the building but it hardly impacted our stay apart from being unable to access the undercover parking. We were on the 5th floor and had beautiful views of the marina, the hotel was lovely and quiet. The room was beautiful and clean and bed comfortable, a king bed would’ve been nice but certainly not a deal breaker. The bathroom gave away the age of the building with the shower over the bathtub. The glass to stop the water isn’t wide enough and the floor got wet with every shower, maybe another bath mat in the room would’ve been helpful. We didn’t eat at the hotel as it seemed a little pricey but there are plenty of other options within easy walking distance. I would stay here again.
Great views of the Marina, the Spa mostly worked (three jets didnt), room had special views of the marina as most rooms would I suspect, great suite facilities with lots of room and in room laundry. Wonderful plush furnishings tastefully decorated made this a memorable stay. Friendly staff wiere nothing is too hard.
We stayed here on a business trip. On the first night we went to the resturant and the staff were excellent, friendly engaging and attentive. They are the reason we are giving 2 stars and not 1. The food was just superb. The room was fine clean and the bathroom had a bowl of purchasable toiletries, such a good idea, great mini bar, great checkin process. We needed to meet clients to work through some training materials and attempted to book the board room. It was not available as it was being painted as a result of cyclone damage. The staff at reception and in the resturant devised a strategy of airing the board room as it was being painted. The plan was it should be finished and available, if not, because we were a small group, we could sit in the Resturant. The board room was not available so we head down to the resturant and sit outside and start our session. After sunset it became hard to see so we came inside and set up on a vacant inside table. After we ordered drinks and we're settled in we were approached by a staff member Kaz who said rather abruptly this table is reserved. I said, really, there is no reserved sign. Kaz replies even more rudely "yeah we ran out of them." The ridiculousness of this statement wasn't lost on anyone in our party as we all looked at each other puzzled. I couldn't help myself I had to say " so we are just expected to know? Kaz said I need you to move I'll arrange a table up here and she pointed in the general direction of the other end of the resturant and then while we were gathering our things Kaz vanished. Worried we might sit on another unsigned but nevertheless reserved table we all stood around while 2 of us searched for Kaz who once again just pointed at a table. It appeared to me Kaz personally felt we shouldn't be in her resturant. I agree we booked the board room and then got relegated to the resturant and in the spirit of cooperating with a regional business that was recovering from a cyclone we made do with working in the resturant. Katz's attitude should have been thanks for sticking with us but it was more like, why are you here? I acknowledge it was a busy night but we did t take up space anyone else wanted. It wasn't a full house and we ordered several drinking over the 3 hours we were there. Well done Kaz a potential 5 star review reduced to 2 because of your appalling attitude. Maybe customer service and hospitality is not your thing?
