Stayed for a couple of nights for work late Nov 2017 in room 800. Nice quiet and spacious room, bed a little on the hard side for me, TV with only two English channels (BBC News\EuroNews) but that's normal from experience, complimentary small bottle of water and a nice breakfast with the usual items you'd expect. Good transport links. Would stay again.
The room was large, comfortable, really good for my wife and I. The staff was very friendly and professional. The only thing negative is that the breakfast is too expensive. Otherwise we use this hotel each time we come in Lyon, because it is very next our children home.
The room was really OLD and Hot inside even with window open, NO AC in the room. Bad quality bed I have stay in few Mercure Hotel in LYON and was satisfied but this one didnt meet my expectations at all.
I've stayed one night in a double room with my sister, we were at the 7th floor and it has been a good experience. The room was well furnished and it was really clean, same the bathroom. Finally a rich breakfast (the other hotels didn't give us the same treatment..) but the girl who served us the dinner forgot to serve the dessert to two people (and we were the only group in the room so she had to serve only us.. meh..). In general the hotel is beautiful, inspired to cinema and in a good location near to the Sans Souci metro station.
... because then you'll not sleep well. It's very noisy. The rooms are OK, bathroom not to small. The corridors to the rooms are of brown color, the doors are orange; I felt like in the 1980's. The staff is friendly and supportive.
We stayed here for 3 nights between the 18-21/1 the room was a good size and it was clean. The bed was ok nothing amazing about it. It is located in an area out of the action, there are a few restaurants around but we found that not all speak English well. It is close to the metro. Receptionists were helpful but some had limited English but did their best to accomodate.
The rooms are standard Mercury fare - slightly aged. The food though is great - slightly odd set up for room service where you order from the same menu as the restaurant which is limited and changed daily - hence you have to order either downstairs or take a photo of the menu before going upstairs to order. But the food is amazing so actually it's worth it :)
The Mercure Lyon Lumière is a perfectly fine hotel - we had two rooms at the hotel, a standard and a privilege room. The privilege room comes with a few extra amenities - nicer in-room refrigerator bar (complementary), bathrobes, a safe, somewhat larger. I can't say overly much about the amenities of the hotel - restaurant, pool, spa, fitness center - because we were spending time with close friends who live in Lyon, so we spent very little time in the hotel. That said, I will say the hotel is very well-located for a property not in the old part of the city near the rivers. Two blocks away is Avenue des Frères Lumières, which is a spectacular shopping street with everything you'd want - patisseries, groceries of all kinds, clothing, etc. The hotel was very clean and straightforward.
Reasonable hotel- rooms were clean, reasonably furnished, bed reasonably comfortable but a bit small. The hotel was conveniently located next to a metro so we were able to travel to downtown to see the lights. Staff were very friendly. Would come back again.
Good room, clean and well appointed. Very friendly and helpful staff. Close to transport - buses, trains etc. A nice breakfast to start the day. Restaurants and shops close by. The hotel has a small restaurant - food was good - but not much choice.
