Booked this hotel on orbitz with short notice of overnight stay in Lynchburg. Even though my stay was brief, checking into the hotel after 10 pm and leaving at 630, I found the staff most helpful and very friendly. The breakfast was very good offering corned beef hash which is one of my favorites. Good assortment of pastries, waffles, juices, coffee, fruit, yogurt and cereals.
I stayed for 5 nights. The first morning I informed the front desk that the inside of the shower curtain was muddy, and the bathtub and sink did not drain very well. The curtain was replaced that day, but the mud was not all washed off the walls. All five mornings, I notified the front desk and cleaning staff that the bathtub and sink needed to be cleared with Draino, or something to that effect. It was never done. Standing in dirty bathtub water while showering and waiting for my toothpaste to drain down the bathroom sink all week was disgusting. Otherwise the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was just ok. Unfortunately, there was homeschool basketball tournament in town, so all of the hotels were booked and they could not move me to a different room.
I came to Lynchburg not for the best of reasons, my daughter had been admitted into the hospital. When I arrived to the hotel I was surprised to see the rooms had out door entrances which made me a little leary being as though I was checking in late and my husband wouldn't arrive until late early morning. Ashley was at the front desk, I expressed my concerns to her asking if I was in a pretty safe area she expressed me that she normally works at night, alone with no problem. She offered to put me indoors just to make me feel a little more safe which upgraded me from a queen room to a king. I thought that was very thoughtful and I was very appreciative. Upon leaving the front office Ashley expressed that she would be praying for me and my family. She is awesome! The bed was amazing the stay was nice and peaceful due to circumstance and breakfast was a +. I will always stay @ Quality Inn anytime Im in town!
Asheigh's Customer Service is phenomenal!!! I visited the area to attend a friend's Mom funeral. I made my reservation online in case I wanted to stay overnight. The online representative informed me that I had until 4pm to cancel reservation. i was so consumed with funeral activities, the time had slipped away and I was 30min late cancelling reservation. I didnt remember to call until I was on the road traveling back home. I quickly contacted the hotel's front desk, spoke to Ashleigh, explained to her my situation and she informed that my credit card had already been charged. Dang It, my fault and I couldn't get mad. However, Ashleigh stated she would contact her manager (who wasnt working that day) and escalate my incident. Well, the manager wasn't available at the time so Ashleigh recommended I call back the next business day to further discuss. The next day I called the hotel, spoke to hotel manager and was informed he was aware of my incident due to a note left on his door by Ashleigh. The manager further escalated my incident to owner who agreed to refund me half of the fee. Needless to say, I was very pleased with the partial refund. However, if it wasnt for Ashleigh going above and beyond to assist me, Im not sure what the outcome would've been. Special thanks to Ashleigh for excellent customer service and going the extra mile. I recommend she receive a raise. :-) Also, Thanks to Management for understanding.
I made my reservation online and opted to pay cash at check in, only to be told buy the young lady Ashlegh there was a requirement of a 100$ deposit until check out. I explained to her that it does not say that online anywhere she sweetly apologized and told me it takes 1 person to ruin it for all. I was alil frustrated and tired not wanting to leave out and got to the bank i went ahead and paid the deposit she assured me that she would be the one to return the deposit the next morning made a cute joke and told me as long as i didn't have a party and trash the room I would be ok. after getting in my room I remember I meant to ask if they had smoking rooms but after the misunderstanding about the deposit I forgot.. I call to the front office and asked Ashlegh if they had smoking rooms and surprisingly she told me the only have a few and she would check availability, she told to give her a second and shed bring me the keys to the new room, which she did. Entering the new room I was glad that it didn't have that smell of stale old smoke. The nights stay was quiet and the bed was super comfy. I didn't attend breakfast the next morning but check out was just as i was told my deposit was givin back Ashlegh apologized again and asked me if everything else was ok post a review if I was satisfied.... I was on my way. Normally I dont do reviews but since she asked and I was pleased after the misunderstanding I did. I only live 45mins away and I would definitely stay again next time I come to visit friends. Oh and the 12 pm checkout time is great!!
Now for starters, I don't normally leave reviews simply because my experience with the service & hospitality at many hotels has been on a gradual decline. But this one experience I had at a Quality Inn is one of the few stand outs so far this year (2017) for me. I had a long day after catching a late flight because my original flight had maintenance issues. Once I arrived to Lynchburg I was very worried about which hotels would be most accommodating for a good night sleep. I didn't make any reservations and so I googled and found Quality Inn to be the cheapest hotel closest to me. When i arrived at the lobby I must say I was skeptical because there were not many cars outside but once I entered I got a warm welcome by the receptionist at the front desk. I believe her name was Ashliegh. She gave me a list of places to eatand she personally recommended a favorite of hers, 'Shakers' which was great. I got an upgraded room from a queen size to a king for free. And the room was very clean to my surprise. Breakfast was ok, more variety would help but I come to expect it anyways from any budget hotel. My experience does not guarantee that the level of service I got will be like this all the time for every individual. However, I'm sure if Ashleigh is present at the front desk of this Quality Inn, then you will get what you pay for as I did! And I'm one happy customer who will definitely come back again as per her request.
I booked a smoking room by mistake, my error. I was there for one night so not too bad. Over all the place was clean. Seemed to be a nice part of town, felt safe. Breakfast was OK. They called it country ham but was more like Canadian bacon. The bed was hard and did not sleep well. Over all not bad for $80ish one night. The only time I saw staff was at check in and check out. Can't say they were good or bad.
The linen in the bed was soiled with a brown substance and the bathroom was extreme moldy. When I asked for the room to be cleaned and linen changed, I was told the washer and dryer was broken and they didn’t have clean sheets. The receptionist came to my room for exactly two minutes and said she cleaned the mold although it was still there. I checked out soon after she left. She was extremely rude and gave another customer a new bed spread when I was at the desk but she didn’t have one for me. The manger was rude as well and offered me $20 dollars off the room for staying less than 45 minutes. Refused a full refund. The Manger then charged my card three times and refuse to refund. I had to get my bank to dispute all charges. It took abou two weeks to get my money refunded. Don’t stay here! They do not have a proper cleaning service and odds are you will be sleeping on dirty linen.
Have to give this Quality Inn a 5 for it's customer service alone. We had a bit of a problem at check in - a booking problem between Choice Privileges and the hotel - but Caleb handled the situation terrifically with professionalism. Great customer service. Our room was very nice with one queen. Although a little small, it was exceptionally clean and set up so that it didn't feel so small. The bed was very comfortable with good pillows. Also, a quiet and convenient location. Breakfast offerings were good. This was a Choice Privileges Rewards night, but almost a week later, there was a small charge on our credit card ($33). Once again, great customer service - Manager Jeff, returned our call as promised, apologized and had the charge reversed. Still not sure why we were charged, but it was all resolved quickly and professionally. Jeff: If you read this, my husband also enjoyed his conversation with you. Will definitely stay again when in the area.
We were in Lynchburg for a college matching band weekend. Because of this most hotels in the area raise their prices. With this said, this is a nice hotel property but it was a bit overpriced. The rooms are slightly smaller than other similarly grouped hotels but they are nicely appointed. Friendly staff, good morning breakfast with some hot items for consumption. The only draw backs, room not completely clean; we had to clean the bottom of the fridge and the tub, also noticed that the room could have used a bit more vacuuming in several places. One mainly annoying item, the door leading from the inside rooms to outside walkways didn't have proper stoppers installed causing them to slam shut every time someone used them (this was reported to the front desk staff and a sign was placed on the door). Very comfortable but tall (approx 3 feet from floor to mattress top) beds, someone with height or partial handicapped issues might have trouble climbing onto them. Overall nice stay, would definitely consider staying here again.
