The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. The desk clerk was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again if in the area.
The owner of the hotel is very friendly and personable. Also very helpful. We arrived an hour earlier than check in, but he was able to get us checked in. We really appreciated this accommodation as we needed to get the car unloaded before our scheduled tour & tasting at the Jack Daniel's distillery. Two weeks before our stay I had called about the walking distances and was given very accurate information. The hotel is in walking distance of the town center and distillery. The town is about 7 to 10 minutes, depending on your pace. The distillery is another 3-5 minutes, depending where you are in the town square. The room was clean and neat. The bed was comfortable. As the hotel is a little dated, they are planning to remodel this Fall. I really hope that they don't remodel the charm out. I would highly recommend this hotel. The location is spectacular for walking back after tasting your Jack Daniel's or drinking at the winery in town. Just remember Lynchburg is in a dry county so those are your only opportunities to purchase alcohol. Unrelated to the hotel, just an FYI. Lynchburg rolls up the sidewalks about 6 p.m. Next to the hotel is a Chinese restaurant and Subway that are open until 9 p.m. The Chinese restaurant was really good with big portions, just don't let the decor deter you.
Overall, I absolutely LOVE this motel. It's charming, clean, the staff was very nice. Very minor things that goes with an old establishment as this, not really out of sorts if one sees it that way, but small maintenance issues...very minor. Over all STAY HERE! NO! I MEAN, STAY HERE! Great place.
