A lovely kitsch Hotel, some may say it would be in need of an update but we loved it! The beds were super comfy, wide selection of breakfast and having a few drinks on the terrace was serene. Also it’s only a short walk to the centre - a great weekend for a girls trip away!
The Parc Belair is my hotel of choice in Luxembourg. There is much to like about this hotel: the hotel itself has great charm and character, the staff are excellent, the rooms are comfortable (and there is a good range of types and prices) and the food - whether you’re having dinner or breakfast - is very good. If you’re looking for a predictable and sterile chain hotel then this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a real European hotel that does what it sets out to do extremely well, then stay here. The decor is a little dated but that simply adds to the charm of the place - and the welcome is always a warm one. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the centre of the old city and the efficient Luxembourg bus system stops outside - I always walk unless it’s raining or very cold. As well as the hotel’s own restaurant there are other good restaurants within a 10 minute walk. A walk in the adjacent Parc Merl is a good way to unwind at the end of the day.
Stayed in the hotel during my weekend in Luxembourg. Love this area: nice and quiet, close to city center (some 10-15 min walk). It is a peaceful place, breakfast-hall windows overlooking Merl Park. Rooms are decent size, not too small. Hotel and room was very clean, stuff helpful and friendly. The only 2 comment are about the shower and the breakfast itself. Shower was too tiny and definitely can be improved. Breakfast offer was very modest, almost nothing to choose from, though there are good places to have breakfast or brunch in the city so not hotel breakfast was not that important to me. Generally, good place to stay.
Recently stayed for a couple of nights. Friendly staff on reception. Room was at the front of the hotel and wasn't too noisy, although it was really warm and I had to turn the radiators off. Tea and coffee available free of charge. Room was spacious, clean and had all facilities you'd expect. Bed was very comfortable and they had a pillow menu. Breakfast was very good and there was plenty of choice. Location wise, we were there on business so the location was good for us, we also walked into the city which took about 20 minutes. Would recommend and will stay there again if we visit Luxembourg
Friendly staff, good breakfast, there was always room in the parking (not cheap though, +25 EUR per night), good rooms. There is a bus which will take you to the city center right in front of the hotel. If the weather is nice you can just walk for 25 mins to place des armes. I love this hotel, even though wifi was flaky and it's not cheap.
The location is nice if you want a little bit of peace, with one side of the building facing the park. The room that we had was spacious and had a balcony, with ceiling to floor windows. The decor is a bit “old-fashion”, but not worn out or dingy. The bed was very comfortable with decent linens. It was strange though, that the shower/bath did not have a curtain or glass so water splashed everywhere when you took a shower. The underground parking lot was definitely a plus when it was raining. The restaurant was surprisingly good for a hotel restaurant, with some regional, French and international dishes. Something for everyone. Only the scrambled eggs served at the breakfast buffet tasted like powder eggs and not real eggs. This hotel is nice and comfortable for a quiet stay.
We stayed for 3 nights and chose this hotel because of the location. It was nearby the event we attended. The hotel room was very clean, but small. A little dated. Especially the bathroom. The hair dryer is for hotel standards excellent so this was a plus. We had a room facing the street. The noise was not super bad, but noticeable. We didn’t pay a high rate, so it was fine for EUR 98. breakfast was excellent and the staff nice. There is a parking garage, but you have to access it via an elevator with your car. Be advised that a grand SUV won’t fit. A little scary but effective way to enter parking.
stayed here at 28/10 till 29/10. payed 172 euro for a room, room was big but outdated. had mold in the shower, toilet cant be locked, broken faucets ( shower and bathroom ) and no airco. we slept at the busy road and for cooling we had to open the windows.. expected more for this price.
The hotel is clean and nice, room was spacious, bed very confortable, but somehow I was expecting more from a 4 stars hotel. The shower needs some repairing, at least in the room I stayed. There was no button in the room to turn off the air conditioning, or I was not able to find it. Breakfast was good.
I booked a room in this hotel as part of a surprise visit to Luxembourg on the occasion of my partner's birthday. As is often with surprises organised at long distance, plans went awry and dates had to be changed. The hotel administration was excellent. They accepted changed in dates when I was forced to make alterations, they gave us a lovely room (406) on the top floor facing the rear with a super terrace overlooking the park and provided a lovely bouquet and chocolates in the room for our arrival and gave me contact details for a nearby beauty therapist. Before anyone gets over-excited by thinking the above was free I will clarify that I insisted the room must have a terrace and I asked the Hotel whether they could get flowers and chocolates up to a certain value and also begged them to change the booking when the date of the surprise party had to change. Nevertheless, please do get excited because the room was bigger than I though, the choice of bouquet was superb (chic, stylish and flowers so fresh they were still pristine 4-days later when we left), the chocolates were precisely as I asked and the staff were friendly, kind and very professional. The room was spotlessly clean and everything in the room worked. The TV does not have many (if any) English TV channels and I have seen in other reviews of this hotel on this site that this fact was very important to some people. The TV in the room had 3 channels in Polish, that might also be of interest, I wouldn't know. I don't go to hotels to watch TV, if I do have spare time I read a book. The buffet breakfast had a wide choice; scrambled eggs, delicious wirschtercher (?) sausages, fried bacon, hash browns, cold hard-boiled eggs and meats, cheeses, jams, honey, yoghurts, fruit salad, fruit, cereals, breads, rolls, pastries, seriously good creamy Luxembourg butter ('Rose'), coffee, tea and they will prepare for you what you would like if the above selection didn't have what you fancied. We stayed for 4 nights and had a different breakfast daily. The one evening we didn't already have plans for we tried the hotel bistro and the food was very good indeed. I had super-garlicky snails followed by the house-burger and was completely stuffed. My partner didn't have a starter so that she could concentrate on a steak and then couldn't finish it, it was so big! Then we had the chef's sampling plate of desserts - 5 little tasty creations of art. The above meal plus two (generous) glasses of wine and coffees came to about 90 euros, so not exactly cheap but then again not outrageously expensive when compared with local establishments. You can spend 18-24 euros on a takeaway pizza. We loved this hotel. I can see that the decor isn't fresh but like the TV that isn't what I search for in a hotel. What is more important to me is humanity - warmth, goodwill and friendly help. These I found in abundance in the Parc Bel Air and whether anyone wishes to pay the rates they ask is a matter for them, all I will say is that I found the rate acceptable and value for money.
