It was a great experience. Really nice hotel. Great products and items
For the most part, staff was stiff and unfriendly. We were not greeted kindly nor were we given accurate information about amenities, local activities or much else. There was one young man at the front desk who was cooperative and kind and I wish I knew his name so as to exclude him from this review. But other than him, the hotel was an inefficient, cold place with lack luster design. Even the cleaning staff was rude. Really? No, I wouldn't recommend that anyone stay here nor will I stay here again.
What a great location! We loved this hotel and the proximity to the Museums and Fort Thüngen. You are right beside the European Convention Center Luxembourg (ECCL) as well. The staff was wonderful, very attentive and so accommodating. The breakfast buffet is very good and has a lot of options. It was quite the unexpected treat to begin our day. There is no parking associated with the hotel, but there is a very large public parking garage across the street and if you are luck and don't mind a 5 minute walk, you can park down the street a little way for free on Sundays.
We had a really enjoyable time at the Melia Luxembourg during a two night from July 19 – 21. The customer service was professional and efficient and that made check-in easy. We arrived during a rather hot spell and the rooms air conditioning work perfectly. We were very comfortable during our stay, with regards to bedding and the spaciousness of the room. My only complaint would be the lack of an iron/ironing board. I realize we could have requested one but it is nice when staying at a property that has them in the room. I was initially concerned that noise would be an issue when we were given a room that was only steps away from the elevator but we only heard a faint conversation once the entire weekend. We did not dine in the hotel so I cannot comment on the quality of the food or bar. Our stay was over a weekend so we had an option of paying for parking in garage across the street or getting a free space at the building next to the hotel. The free parking is limited and only free/available on the weekend. We secured parking there and it worked out just fine. As for the location to town, it can be a bit of a walk to the town depending on time of day or weather conditions but it was a pleasant stroll. The other options are to take a bus and the bus stop was not that far away. Being tourists we had taken the hop-on hop-off bus and it has a stop close to the front of the property. We did not realize that until we were in town and picked up the tour. We kept that in mind for our ride back to the hotel on the return. We would definitely return to the property if we were in Luxembourg City for business or leisure trips.
Great service, comfortable room, not too far from the city center, couldn't ask for much more!
A friend and I traveled to Luxembourg last week and stayed in this hotel. It was amazing! Directly adjacent to the hotel is the Museum of Modern Art and one of the old military fortifications. A 15 minute walk places you directly in the City Center where you can see all of the city's offerings. The hotel itself is quite pricey, but booking online got us an amazing nightly rate. Luxembourg is an imminently walkable city and staying at this hotel was very convenient for this purpose.
I'm a big fan of Melia Hotel chain! I was met by a warm and friendly receptionist. She was happy to give directions and took the time to show me on a map on the different ways to get to the city center by foot. The room was extremely clean and comfortable! The hotel had a great wet & dry sauna, and a quiet sitting room to relax in with soothing spa sounds. A very modern hotel both inside and outside. The entire staff had a very pleasant personality. The breakfast was wonderful and delicious. I would definitely stay there again!
The hotel was very clean. Beautiful rooms and very nice beds.
