Everytime I visit Luxembourg I stay at the Meliã. The hotel is placed between the Philharmony und the MUDAM Museum with stunning views over the city center. The rooms are spacious and have many (almost to the floor) windows. There is a gym, a sauna and a steam bath on the 7th and 8th floor. The sauna area is quite small but I've been there alone almost every time, so that wasn't a problem for me. When staying in a Level Room you get access to the Level Lounge on the ground floor. There's a complimentary tea time with small cakes, chocolates and other snacks. In the evening tapas are served. Also chosen beverages are served for free. From the breakfast area you get great views over Luxembourg and the MUDAM museum. (Be there early to catch a table by the windows ;)) The buffet has lots of things to choose from. You can order omelettes if you want to. The staff is multilingual (English, German, French, Spanish) and very kind. To get to the city centre you can either walk directly over a bridge, or choose the more scenic path through the valley which only takes 20-25 minutes. There are also two elevators to the city. On the weekends the busses are for free. I totally recommend this hotel.
I stayed in a Level room, and I felt really spoiled. I found a nice welcome card on the table with fine chocolates and complimentary water for me, a Nespresso machine and complimentary capsules, free access to the lobby and free finger-food and beverages and many other complimentary facilities Breakfast very generous. Excellent view over the park
The most memorable thing about the Melia in Luxembourg is the service. The reception staff went above and beyond for us and definitely deserve some praise - so thank you! It was also in a lovely location just outside the center, we didn't hire a car so had to walk a good distance back and forth so would recommend either taking bikes or hiring a car. Our room was lovely, situated on the 7th floor. The only thing we would have liked is free bottled water in the room. Other than that it was perfect!
I wish I could stay there longer. Location is amazing, there is gym and spa, room is quiet, clean, and spacious. Staff is very friendly. I didn't dine in their restaurants, but the menu looked good. Very relaxing, even though I was there for work.
I recently stayed at the Melia Luxembourg Hotel as I was visiting the city to compete in the Luxembourg Night Marathon. The hotel is excellent. It is nicely situated just out from the main centre with wonderful views over the city. The staff are very professional. Particular mention to Gabriele and Isabelle on the front office, who were very helpful. Particular mention also to Selda, who runs the hotel dining room. She was really attentive and welcoming. Breakfast is excellent with a superb selection of hot and cold options. My return flight to London was cancelled due to problems with British Airways. This meant that I extended my stay by one extra night. Again, the staff at the hotel were brilliant and managed to assist with my travel plans. One recommendation would be to stay in one of the Level Rooms. These have incredible views over the city, from the higher floors especially. I will definitely stay at Melia Luxembourg the next time I visit. James Skinner Gloucestershire, U.K.
Great hotel. Spotless rooms. Good service in general. Only hiccup was coffee machine not working properly at breakfast and lady looking after it was a tad aggressive, perhaps 'cos she was the only one who seemed to be working? Door lock on room didn't work. On informing reception they said the doors can't be opened from the outside. If that's the case, why have the double lock at all? Above all though, a very nice hotel, staff, common areas.
It's been my 4th visit to this Melia. As always, staff was kind and efficient in several languages, no matter what time of day or night. I loved my room on the 7th floor with its terrific view of beautiful green Luxembourg. Very much appreciate the practical details such as kettle and cups with selection of coffee and tea in the room and lovely thoughts like the pralines with a personal note. I didn't have time for breakfast this time round but recall from previous visits it's usually delicious.
Good ratio quality price, convenient location close to city center and near the ECJ. Rooms are spacious, staff courteous and efficient.. There is a gym center and sauna. Just a few miles to the aitport, well connect via bus.
