The rooms are clean , should tell people there are tea and coffee provided in rooms we took our own because we were told it was not provided the same with toiletries. The only thing we would have a gripe about is the food very basic and not very well cooked and not much choice.
We stayed in the hotel for one week, while we were hunting northern lights. The stuff was very friendly and gave us some recommendations what to do during the time and where to search for the lights. We had a superior room. It was large and was equipped with a sofa, fridge, kettle and balcony. The bathroom was new, nicely designed and huge. Breakfast was included in our package and it was very diverse and good. For dinner we tried the bistro twice (pizza and burger). It was good, however, there are cheaper options in town. Even though the hotel is very nice there are some disadvantages: The pool area is redicules - the pool is only interesting for small kids but nothing for adults. You cannot even swim in there. And sauna and steambath are OK but we're crowded in the evening. And there is now aurora alert system. All in all, we had a nice stay, but a log cabin would have probably been the better choice.
Stayed here recently, for the second time. Just as impressed as I was the first time. The hotel staff are welcoming and helpful, the rooms are excellent and the food in the bar for dinner was excellent.
Excellent value, extraordinary and helpful staff, loads of hidden surprises, wonderful sauna/pool area. Very comfortable beds, and a pleasant view. Even a secret billiards table in the property. We even had a recommendation to visit the ski area in Pyha, which was quite nice.
The hotel Located in a small and beutiful place. The veiw from the porch is amazing Snowy Forest. There is a frozen lake (we were there at march) and a snowy beutiful routh around it. Not far from the hotel you can find a Snowmobiles expedition. WiFi is good and free in the rooms. there is a small gym. The staff are nice and Welcoming. there is a dryer in the room !
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, as members of a large tour group. Hotel was a pleasant surprise, offering a very nice spa (sauna, swimming pool, jacuzzi) and very welcoming rooms, including a large dryer for your wet staff after staying outside in the snow. Breakfast and dinner were tasty and rich. Wifi signal was strong and stable. It seems there are only two single bed rooms, and no double-bed ones.
Our trip was organised for us by The Artisan Travel Company and I can't recommend them highly enough. They organised our trip and were quite brilliant every step of the way. We stayed in the Log Cabin part of the Hotel and it was magical. The cabins are a short walk from the hotel which is no drama as its so beautiful. The cabins gave our trip a really cosy and authentic feel - inside was a log fire and huge amounts of sleeping space - with the added bonus of our own sauna! We were half board so breakfast and dinner were a buffet style dinner which was really nice every evening. They were the only times we ever really went into the hotel. Im sure there was a gym and a pool inside but we never actually used them... near by there is a little souvenir shop, food shop and the ski slope where you can borrow sledges from the hotel and use the sledging slope for free! At the time of year we went it was so quiet so we basically had the slope to ourselves! Bonus! We had an absolutely brilliant time and would definitely go back - its the most magical place I have ever been to - a experience that I will hold onto! Again big thanks to the team at Artisan, especially Gretta!
We traveled to Luosto with Canterbury Travel to spend Christmas searching for Santa. Just the most amazing trip hence the title. We stayed in a Log cabin approximately 20 minutes away from the centre of Luosto. We were initially worried about the distance but actually it made our trip even better as our 6 and 4 year olds had an amazing time travelling by sleigh everywhere. We were the furthest away cabin out of our group. The cabin was perfect, bijou - but exactly what we needed, incredibly warm for those evenings when we were exhausted. The private sauna was wonderful. We never managed to have time to light the fire as we seemed to be always heading out to somewhere magical. Each day had several highlights but it is a tie between the post office elf finding my daughter's letter to Santa and feeding the reindeer on Christmas morning in lightly falling snow! Would love to be able to go on this trip again but I think it really is a once in a lifetime event and I would highly recommend Canterbury Travel who most definitely delivered the goods. Thank you also to the amazing Hannah on coach F. Would also recommend the a la Carte upgrade.
Booked through Thompsons - a once in a lifetime experience a four night Xmas break for a party of 7. Amazing although very early morning flight, passed through the airport without any problems or delays. Found our coach and were on our way in no time picking up our 'snow gear' on the way. We had 2 adjoining log cabins which were perfectly adequate for our needs. We were on half board so meals were taken in the Hotel close by. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent, a wide variety of choice at both meals.Hotel and Thompson staff very friendly and helpful. We made use of the local shop for our lunchtime provisions which was amazingly stocked with local produce plus items that were more familiar to us. I'm not sure who enjoyed the taster sessions more us or the children! I had pre-booked a reindeer safari which was on Christmas Day, although the kids loved it I felt it was overpriced and the actual sleigh ride could have been a bit longer. The kids loved seeing Santa at the Gala dinner which was lovely as was the firework display at the end of the evening. The Northern lights put a spectacular display on for us right above our cabins, it snowed every day we were there at some point what more could you want for Christmas?
Wonderful trip with Aurora Zone. We were totally satisified from the moment we were collected at Kittila airport to the time we were dropped back there for the return flight. The resort rep was friendly, efficient and very helpful and there was no attempt to "up sell" anything. The hotel staff again were fiendly and very obliging. Food was excellent and plentiful. We made good use of the pool and sauna - very clean.. The Lapland Safari trips were great, all the clothing was very new and clean and you could have spare socks etc. The Safari guides were all very expert and friendly and we greatly enjoyed our trips with them. They were very consisitent in respect of health and safety without being over the top. It was usual for hot drinks and a snack of some description to be provided during the safaris which was most welcome. I would be delighted to repeat our 7 day trip and yes we did see the Northern Lights - 3 times ( would have been 4 but we were in the bar and missed the alert)
