Hotel location is bit distant but worth to stay there. I was here in summer time even this is more winter holiday resort. Room was big (Standard Suite) with Sauna :) and 2 balconies. View from room was towards hill and forest. Sleeping quality was good even some sound was heard from corridor when early levers pushed their luggage. Breakfast was one of the best have had in Finland. In summer time restaurant/bar closes quite early that was bit surprising (10 pm). There is also Spa that is included hotel price. Spa itself was nice but not very big. So not for swimmers. Pricing is quite this is good option especially on summer time as it is low season.
we stayed here at the end of a longer trip through the northern countries and enjoyed the tranquility of the place in one of their log cabins. Having our own sauna and a small kitchen made it really nice to relax and calm before flying homewards. There was an unbelievable amount of mosquitos though, and big stingers, they ruined the longer walks in the nearby nature park (beautiful hike through a swamp area).
Great location on your way up to North! We stayed here only one night, on our way to Nuorgam. Hotel staff were very friendly, and they smiled while doing their job! :0) The double-room was a ordinary hotel room: -the bed was quite nice to sleep -in a corner of the room, there was a small fridge, where you could put your own drinks and snacks. -and there were also a small tv. The room though was already a bit old-fashioned. The room also had no air conditioning: we where there in the summer, and there where really hot outside. And the only window that was able to open, was a small upper window... There where a good and varied breakfast! They also have very nice gottages, where you can stay on your holiday -we visit one of them couple years ago. Overall, the room was not so quaint: old-fashioned, and little stale, BUT: nice location, beautiful nature, peaceful at summertimes, friendly staff, good breakfast, and many reindeers! :0)
Wilderness hotel that is worth visiting also during summer time. Surrounded by quietness, nature and various hiking tracks. Friendly staff. Spacious and clean rooms with own balcony. Good sleeping quality. Ok breakfast. The somewhat basic and outdated interior design kind of suits this place.
Good service, excellent food ( especially reindeer timbal and roasted arctic char. ) Nice and clean cottages. Daylight all 24 hours a day. Nature is so beautiful and believe or not - not very many mosquitos♥️
Very helpful and courteous staff. Extraordinary comfort. Very large rooms. With private sauna. Well spread breakfast. Located so far away from everything. Quiet and charming. Near the city of Sodakyla and in Reindeerland. Santa's abode. Must visit if in Finnish lapland!
We came on a taster holiday for a week which we booked via Activities Abroad. This is the first time we've not had a hot sunny holiday. Slightly apprehensive that we wouldn't like the cold but we were pleasantly surprised. All the equipment and clothing was provided. We tried everything there was to offer. Cross country skiing, reindeer safari, husky sledging, ice fishing, snowshoe trek, snowmobiling and amethyst mines. Truly enjoyed every single thing. Holiday was totally made though by seeing the Northern Lights on our last night when we did the snowshoe trek up the mountain and had full view of the lights dancing. We stayed in the log cabins and all our meals were at the hotel. Even when you're not doing activities there's still plenty to do. Would definitely do this again. Our kids aged 12 and 14 said it was the most amazing experience ever and we all learnt so much! Brilliant! The staff were all very good everywhere. On every activity they were enthusiastic and answered all our questions. This is a must do holiday. Can't recommend highly enough!
The rooms are clean , should tell people there are tea and coffee provided in rooms we took our own because we were told it was not provided the same with toiletries. The only thing we would have a gripe about is the food very basic and not very well cooked and not much choice.
We stayed in the hotel for one week, while we were hunting northern lights. The stuff was very friendly and gave us some recommendations what to do during the time and where to search for the lights. We had a superior room. It was large and was equipped with a sofa, fridge, kettle and balcony. The bathroom was new, nicely designed and huge. Breakfast was included in our package and it was very diverse and good. For dinner we tried the bistro twice (pizza and burger). It was good, however, there are cheaper options in town. Even though the hotel is very nice there are some disadvantages: The pool area is redicules - the pool is only interesting for small kids but nothing for adults. You cannot even swim in there. And sauna and steambath are OK but we're crowded in the evening. And there is now aurora alert system. All in all, we had a nice stay, but a log cabin would have probably been the better choice.
Stayed here recently, for the second time. Just as impressed as I was the first time. The hotel staff are welcoming and helpful, the rooms are excellent and the food in the bar for dinner was excellent.
