Fantastic hotel,in great location to everything Lucca has to offer,10 mins walk from station.Easy to get to Pisa (approx 25mins)& Florence(1hr15) by train.Helpful, friendly staff, excellent breakfast(free buffet & prosecco).Room comfortable,clean-had everything we needed. Defo recommend
Good: The location is excellent, right in the centre of the old town. The room, of which she only has one, is large, clean and very stylish. The adjacent bathroom was huge with two basins and a bidet. Bad: The beds were soft and the room was stuffy. If the windows were opened the mosquitos came in so a noisy fan was the only solution. There was no condiments supplied such as water, tea or coffee or even a kettle.
This was our second annual a visit to Lucca staying at the Hotel Ilaria. Location , snacks, bicycles and friendly knowledgable staff make this a perfect place to stay. Our room was clean ,bright and quiet. So good to be able to make a cup of tea after being out walking around the city. Riding bikes along the wall is not to be missed. Shops are great as is the Weds market where you can pick up a bargain! Don't hesitate to book a room at Hotel Ilaria it's great 👍
Location: Walking distance to the train station along the Botanical garden...very scenic view. Rooms: Clean and classy. Staff: Receptionist were not that friendly but they were not rude. Breakfast: Decent and nice breakfast place...very 'garden feel'
I have been to Lucca many times but this was the first time at Hotel Ilaria. Very impressed by a superb hotel, friendly staff, great location and excellent breakfast! I will be back. Also the hotel is good value for money and an easy walk to the station. The botanical gardens of Lucca are next door and worth a visit.
Stayed for 1 night in Lucca in this hotel- wish we had booked for longer. Everything was perfect - nice spotlessly clean room with nice view. Staff friendly and helpful throughout. Free snacks and drinks available all day with added bonus of free prosecco between 5-7pm so nice for a pre dinner drink before heading out to lovely Lucca. Walk around the wall is a must - easy, flat and wheelchair accessible. We went to a Puccini recital in a nearby church - amazing !! Everything is so easy to get to as Lucca isn't huge and the Ilaria is very well situated. All in all highly recommend and the management should be proud of such a well run hotel. We would love to return, maybe for the Lucca festival.
Beautiful hotel meticulously maintained, welcoming staff attentive to service, excellent location next to the old city. Small parking and reliable WIFI. Excellent breakfast with good selections. This hotel is a rare find.
We stayed in the main hotel, in a regular double room. These rooms are a bit dim, with lots of dark wood, but the window lets in plenty of light. The decor could use an update but for the very reasonable price and great location Hotel Ilaria is a good option. There is so much to see and do in Lucca that you will not spend much time in your room. The breakfast terrace is lovely, with Illy espresso and a good range of hot and cold food. You can walk here from both the bus and train, but it's cobbled (of course). Easy to find and Lucca is small enough that anyone would help with directions. Make sure you go out walking and let yourself get lost in Lucca's charming streets. There is a great wine shop just past the arch and several very good restaurants nearby. The front desk girls will also give you tips - thanks Federica and Ilaria!
Excellent and luxury hotel. Large rooms provided with everything. Cleaness. Kind staff, delicious breakfast with any type of food. Excellent positition. Uncomparable processore for the quality of the service
Pros : 1) Location : The hotel is located just within the city walls but just outside the restricted zone for cars 2) Breakfast has a good selection of hot (sausage, scrambled eggs and bacon) and cold items. Coffee which is by Illy is excellent. 3) Free use of bicycles. There are only about 10 of them so I can imagine getting one would be difficult during peak season. But we got ours without any issues and cycled around the perimeter wall. 4) Free aperitivo hour with snacks and drinks around 5pm. This includes beer and sparkling wine. Cons : 1) Bed is on the small side if there are 2 people on the bed. The size of the mattress is between a super single and queen. 2) Room is on the small side. If you put 2 luggages out, you would not have able to walk around. 3) Shower cubicle is too small (about 1m by 1.5m) and with no shower curtain, you end up wetting the bathroom floor. I hate that and pity the cleaners who had to wipe the floor down everyday. 4) No toilet roll holder which I really don't get it. 5) No tower hanging rack, so you would use the heating rack for your towels. Parking is EUR15 per day. If you're driving, you MUST come in from Porta Elisa gate. Go straight after the main gate a the wall. You would go though another gate. Turn right once you pass that. The restricted zone starts after. If you go in from the other entrances, you would inevitably go through a restricted zone (only for residents' vehicle) and would be fined about EUR50.
