I have stayed at this hotel since it was built. It has always been my "go to" place when in Lubbock. It has been about a year since I have stayed there. I was very disappointed at the condition and cleanliness. Room was dirty, holes in the wall, etc. It is not what it used to be. I checked in at 10:30PM. Signed the registration form, was handed the key cards and off I went. Shortly before midnight I received a call from the front desk(different staff) stating that I had not signed the registration form. I said I was already in bed and would take care of it in the morning. He was rather insistent and said he would be up for me to sign it. It took me two hours to get back to sleep after this. This hotel has been good to me over the years, but it is extremely obvious that something has changed. Time to find a new place.

Room carpet had stains. Old and needs to be updated. A last chance motel at best, not a place to bring the family.

Made a 2-bed reservation. Got a room w/ 1 bed ... and a pullout couch w/ a piece of cardboard for a mattress. No other rooms. Staff not helpful.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The price we paid was about $185/night too much. I cannot believe Wyndham has their company name on this hotel. Rooms were sparsely decorated. Rooms appeared clean but just felt dirty. Hallway carpet was dirty. Not a good experience. We only stayed here as all of the hotels in Lubbock were full because this was the weekend for students to move into the dorms.

The hallways and lobby were excruciatingly hot, too hot to breathe. The hotel rooms were severely out-dated and the shower curtain smelled like mildew. We reserved the room for one night but struggled to even stay ONE HOUR! We checked out within 3 hours of being in the room and drove home. It was too uncomfortable in our room to try to stay all night. A waste of $90 but, I couldn't risk getting bed bugs (it looked nasty enough to host bugs) from that hotel.

My two-night stay at Howard Johnson Lubbock was way better than I could have asked for. I have stayed in a few Windham properties before and this was definitely one of the best. The check-in process was fast and smooth. I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by a very nice fragrance as soon as I stepped into the room. The AC was set to a very comfortable 71 F. I had a King bed, non-suite room. It was very spacious. Apart from the usual appliances - microwave, fridge, flat-screen TV, coffeemaker, iron and the usual furniture - study desk, nightstands, and a dresser, there was enough space for a small dining table too. The linen and towels were clean and fresh. The bed had a comfortable moderately firm mattress. The toiletries were adequately provided. The bathroom looked very well maintained and clean. The room was quiet too and I had no noise complaints in spite of having two immediate neighbors. The wifi was a little spotty and I had to cycle between a few different ones when the signal would drop every now and then, but the speed was adequate. The carpet even though somewhat old was very clean and odor free. I was very happy with the room service. The used towels and toiletries were replaced and everything put back to the way they were when I had first entered. The only issue was the breakfast. It was the usual store-bought non-fresh collection of bagels, donuts, mini muffins and biscuits with a self-serve waffle maker and cereals. The seating was inadequate too.

Room was not clean. Sheet had debris and dirt covering one side of bed. Door to bathroom would not close/latch. Bedspread was dirty looking. We were traveling and stopped for just a few hours rest so we did not request a room change - otherwise we would not have even stayed in room 310. Luckily we had some blankets with us that we could throw over the bedding so we didn't have to touch their dirty beds.

For convenience to where I was visiting, it was good. My room looked as thought furniture was missing, Either a second queen size bed or couch. There was no comfortable chair to sit and watch TV. Only the dining chair or office chair.

Good place to stay but needs better breakfast ........... ..m...........

Overall experience very good, excellent location, easy access .

We arrived late...check in was quick, staff was friendly. Breakfast was nice too! Only complaint was that the floors were not vacuumed and bathroom floor wasn't clean. Overall we had a nice quick stay.

Stayed at hotel overnight- checked in late at night just to sleep, shower, eat breakfast and checkout.

the staff were awful very rude no helphful at all tooms need a renovation

Very good experience. We were told this was on a rough side of town and the motel was old, but it was as good as any we have stayed in, clean and fairly updated.

We staid here for a geocaching event . We were not the only geocachers here that weekend. All agreed it was a great choice of places to stay .A good value for the money !

This hotel was great for a construction crew. It was close to the job site and had free breakfast.

Great hotel for the price. Located right by Texas Tech university.

Room was clean and night staff pleasant. Location wasn't the best but served its purpose as a place to lay our heads down in the evening. Continental breakfast was typical fare. Overall, great for a trip on a tight budget.

Good basic clean room - everything was what you would expext. Phones didn't work in the room and since it was the weekend couldn't get it fixed.
