I am staying at the Villa Santi in town and took their shuttle to the Santi Resort & Spa where I enjoyed a Lao massage in the spa room facing the rice fields and the high hills in the far sight. Walking in the landscaped garden with lotus ponds is very pleasant.
We were warmly welcomed by Edouard the F&B manager, the customer service was excellent, we particularly liked the penne arabista and the tuna sandwich. The pool is beautiful and the little elephant in stone is a nice touch that adds to the calm and relaxing vibe of the property. We also took advantage of the spa and sauna. Mrs Phoo took great care of both my girlfriend and I (we chose the Traditional Lao massage which I definitely recommend).
I really enjoy my last wekend a villa santi.. I have to said that i didnt have one disappoint .. Room as perfect and the breakfast super good... The General manager and the thai/french manager we are very delicius persons , very hopeful and really proffessional peoples. Thank you some much
This was hands down our favorite pool of all our trip to Asia. The pool was the perfect temperature and size. It also wasn't used much. The only thing is the floor boards can get hot in the sun. The room was quite spacious with mosquito netting over the bed. The bathroom was well appointed (although the tub/shower is a high step to get into). The wifi can be spotty. We were in building 5...which seemed to be too far away from the reception building (which had great wifi). The resort provides a shuttle to their hotel in downtown Luang Prabang and there are a variety of places to eat within walking distance from the shuttle. I also had a few items of laundry done and they were returned earlier than the sheet said. Breakfast was okay... not a lot of choices but we wondered if that was because it was low season for tourists. We did have dinner in the restaurant our first night and it was tasty. Their drinks were really good.
Stayed for 3 nights when visiting friends in Bangkok, The room was large, clean and beautifully decorated with mosquito nets and silk runners on the beds and dressers. The balcony looked out over misty, lily and lotus filled ponds and tropical greenery and was a peaceful, welcoming window into Laos. We were told that the rainy season was just starting (July 2 week) and it did rain for the entire day on our first day, but the second and third days were cloudy but great temperature - high 20s. The mattresses were very firm, which made the bed less comfortable than it looked, but this was the only disappointment in the room. Unfortunately, the restaurant food was a real disappointment compared to food in general in Luang Prabang. The breakfast buffet was standard and good quality - fresh fruit, noodles and egg dishes that changed daily - but we had dinner one night where we seemed to be the only customers. The western food dishes - club sandwich - was fine for kids, but the green papaya salad was overpowered by the strong shrimp paste, and the red curry fish featured a small, dried-out filet with uninspiring coconut sauce. The clientele seemed to include a number of group tour customers, which may explain why so few guests were eating dinner there, but would be interested to hear the experiences of other diners. Although there is a shuttle to the Villa Santi Hotel in town that runs daily, we found ourselves taking tuk tuks most of the time, as the time between shuttle runs could be 1.5 hours or more. We were also surprised when the shuttle driver was unwilling to drop us at a restaurant on the way to the Villa Santi Hotel (Manda de Laos) as the location of the restaurant was right en route and we didn't see it as inconveniencing anyone. The distance to the Villa Santi hotel was approximately 5.5 km, but is an interesting shuttle run. If the hotel improves the restaurant, this could be a real destination hotel, as guests can walk around the rice paddies and beautiful grounds, and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere.
Stayed here whilst on Mercury tour Vietnam,Laos, Cambodia. This was my favourite place. Lovely traditional room, large balcony, beautiful pool area. Perfect. Nice breakfast, sweet waitresses. Bus into town til quite late. Couldn't fault it everything nice.
We stayed here in 2016 with 5 kids aged 6, 5, 4, 2 and 1. I picked this hotel because it's lovely and spacious with enormous and beautiful gardens that the kids can run around in. It's a bit out of town (15 mins) but there's a free shuttle bus between the resort and its other hotel in town. The gardens are the best part, beautifully kept and great for exploring. The pool is large though the whole pool area is a little tired. Pool staff attendance is haphazard. The breakfast is okay, nothing fancy and the dinner options are minimal. It's much better to eat in town. There's not much food or grocery-wise around so bring supplies with you. The staff are friendly and helpful. We had 5 rooms booked together on the ground floor and all of our configurations were set up when we arrived; we asked for an extra bed and it was brought straight away. In all, I'd highly recommend this hotel if travelling with young kids; a relaxed and enjoyable experience
Beautifully set in gardens, peaceful, comfortable with a clean and welcoming pool. We only had breakfast in the resort which was very good with excellent service . Rooms were spotless and a good size. Lovely views from the balcony.
such a welcome hotel in lovely grounds with great views over rice paddies and mountains. Not to be confused with the sister hotel in town. There is a shuttle bus to get you in to the beautifully kept and picturesque town about 10 mins drive.A welcome fruit bowl and lovely staff. The most insects we had encountered so far on our trip but well managed by mossie nets.Very nice pool and good breakfast, the staff cant do enough for you, thoroughly enjoyed our stay shame it wasn't longer.
I visited Luang Prabang with my family during 29 April - 1 May 2017. We went with the Bangkok Travel Club of Bangkok Airways. We stayed at "Santi Resort & Spa Luang Prabang". It was very fantastic place to stay in a room with the view of huge trees garden and range of mountains. So peaceful indeed !! The hotel has unique Laotian style and decorations. Staff were very polite and friendly. Only one recommdation to the hotel is that they should provide fresh orange juice instead of orange juice from box, and more French-style breads and bakeries as Laos are very famous for !! Whenever visiting this charming city of Luang Prabang, I suggest to stay at this hotel !! Book well in advance though !!
