Arrived Passau by train from Munich after 11PM. Was not aware about the distance to the hotel, missed the bus (at that hour just once an hour bus) and walked short distance before rain start and luckily found taxi. It was well over 10 minutes taxi drive. The hotel set-up is little strange being on some top floor of supermarket / office building. Reception was fast. Room is very small - one bed to put my things and other to sleep. Internet is good but have to change slips with reception. I did not had breakfast so no comment. There are drinks and cookies + fruits during the day at the lobby. It finish too much fast. I requested some help in print out some documents in the reception which was given with smile!!!! There is supermarket under the hotel. Bus stop 3 minutes walk away. Few restaurants around.
Again my wife and I were driving from western Bavaria to eastern Europe and needed a place toovernight enroute. The Best Western Amedia Passau is just a few few minutes off teh A-3 Autobahn (Passsau South Exit) and is an excellent plaace to stay for the money. The staff makes us feel very welcome each time we come through. Highly recommend this hotel for a short visit. I say 'short' because we have never stayed more than one night per visit.
Unfriendly staff, cramped rood without ventilation, bathroom also too small, no good location, far from the city and next to a busy and noisy room. This place in only suitable for people on their way but not for a longer stay
The hotel is ok for an overnight hotel. Sufficient parking available and easy access from highway. It is quite a noisy hotel though. There is no airco so for some fresh air you need to leave the windows open. Lots of noise from the car park downstairs which is also for the shops. Plenty of noise from the hallway as well both in the evening as well as in the early morning. We had the upgraded rooms which are quite ok in size.
A pretty good place not far from both the major autobahn and the city center. There is a municipal indoor swimming pool just around the corner and a supermarket downstairs. Huge parking lot available.
We can highly recommend the Best Western Amedia Passau, especially if you are traveling through. It is the most reasonable in the area with outstanding service. Mrs. Schreck, the manager, and her staff go the extra mile to make everybody feel special and welcome. Complementary fruit, coffee and brownies are available in the lobby, with water and a coffee maker in the room. The standard rooms are rather small and it is worth to get an upgraded room. The mattresses and bedding are very comfortable, rooms are very clean. Excellent wifi and free parking. Breakfast and a small selection of drinks are available in the hotel. No restaurant but there is a shopping center in the same building, restaurants and McDonalds across the street. Many extra little gestures that will make you feel appreciated. Thank you, Mrs. Schreck and Team!
We were travelling from Greece to France and just wanted a place to stay for the night , which was close to the motorway. This hotel was perfect only 5 minutes away so able to get straight on with our journey the next day. Hotel was very clean and snacks and drinks were available at the reception. Only downside was the lack of places to eat in the vicinity, only a chinese restaurant and a Mcdonalds. Didn't try the breakfast, so can't comment on that. A really nice touch was the bowl of dog food and water placed in reception for our dog on arrival. Nice friendly staff too.Plenty of parking at the front of the hotel too.
This is a budget hotel for my opinion, it has a good position in Passa, it is located at the near outside of the town, it has small roms for my taste, but there are a very clean and it was warm. At the ground is a large Kaufland store where you can buy a lot of stuff, and at a very good price ! the hotel has a free parking place that is shared with the store located there. In the parking lot it is situated an Asian restaurant . It is a good hotel to spend the night.
We stayed here for 1 night on our way to Slovenia. Rooms are small but OK. I was missing air conditioning since it was warm outside and the personnel forgot to close the outside blinds before we arrived in the hotel. Bed is confortable. Breakfast is so-so. We were having breakfast rather late and some things were already missing (e.g. croissants).
We stayed here for two overnight visits at the start and end of a cycling holiday. Hotel is outside of Passau and up a long hill but we were able to leave our car there whilst cycling for the week for a small fee so it suited us well. Our first room was near a supermarket loading bay and very noisy, the 2nd time we stayed we asked for a quiet room and that was much better. Rooms are small and very hot due to lack of aircon but bed was very comfortable, immaculately clean and good shower. Staff really friendly and helpful, would stay again but probably not in August due to heat.
