Quality Hotel Christina Lourdes3.0 out of 5.0

Second stay at Hotel Christina. Not sure why people are complaining that it is at the end of hotel row, you can plainly see that if you look at an actual map (and it really isn't that far). I like that it is a little further away from the craziness and tourist traps. The numerous roof balconies make it easy to find a quiet place for a glass of wine in the evening. The top "chess board" balcony is the best view of Lourdes in the town (next to the castle). The only reason I didn't rate "Very Good" is that it is average for those used to North American sized hotel rooms. They are pretty much what you would expect travelling in Europe. Clean and well-kept. The staff are nice, and the food is quite adequate.
First of all, the location is almost at the end of hotel row right along the Gave river so it was not really convenient to get to Basilica. We did not mind the location at all, but just be aware the senior citizens may have some challenges getting to the Basilica. We stayed on the 5th floor. The layout of the hotel is somewhat choppy. The floors are cut off at one area and we found ourselves going up and down stairs just to visit friends on the same floor. It is an "older" hotel so it a minor issue. As for the room, it was quaint and charming enough. Though from seeing some of the other pictures on here, our room wasn't as modern as others and is probably scheduled for renovation. The bathroom did not have a lot of counterspace either. However, we had an outstanding view of the Gave, the mountains to the right and the city scape to the left with the Fort in the distance. The sunrises and sunsets were amazing. The dining area was a little chaotic. There were several tour groups there at the same time and the serving area was not planned well or even large enough. Everyone converges to a small area with a small selection of deli meats, cheese, bread, water pitchers. At least they had a few coffee machines scattered in other areas to diffuse the traffic a little, but it was shoulder to shoulder chaos. Be careful with your plates and drinks from spilling! Other than that, it was a good hotel and I would not hesitate to stay there again.
Stayed here about 2.5 weeks ago. Sadly, the worst of all the hotels on our pilgrimage tour. The room was clean and adequate. The staff were mostly friendly. But this hotel was overcrowded with so many tour groups and pilgrims that it was difficult to get the lift (especially when your room is located on the top floor). The breakfast was very basic and minimal with hardly any selection (and beware if you don't come to breakfast at your allotted time because all the food might be gone). However, the dinner was better - a sit-down 3 course meal. The main downside for me was the distance between the hotel and the sanctuary - too far for my liking. About a 10-15 minute walk (for an able-bodied person) one way to the sanctuary. Considering I did many trips back and forth to the sanctuary (throughout the day and night), I would have preferred a closer hotel. The next time I come back to Lourdes (minus the tour group), I'll definitely be making that my number one priority when choosing a hotel there.
This was my second stay at this hotel. Both occasions we stayed for two nights. The staff are very good, breakfast was excellent. The room was well presented and clean. We were three adults in the room and having two bathrooms and toilets was very good. The beds were comfortable. We will definitely make this our place to stay everytime we come to Lourdes. It is an easy walk to the Sanctuary. We walked from the station to the hotel but there is also a bus that is just outside the hotel that takes you to the train station.
I have stayed here 3 different summers while visiting. Two weeks at a time. I love this place. The staff is wonderful and always very helpful. Great views. The owners are always there. Great food, sometimes a local band would be there. Walks along river.
Was here with my parents from Friday till Monday. Location was great ! Staff was friendly. Food was ok but not recommended for someone like me who eats mostly vegetarian. The rooms are stuck in the 80's. No renewal, no maintenance. Perhaps they put us in an old part as the pictures shown are not what we seen. The sliding door to the bathroom fell out in my parents room. Floors are carpets and looked dirty. My room was tiny and animals which I couldn't really tell what they were made the room not to recommend. The elevator was small and technically served its best times and needs renewal. I'm also wondering if the electricity is updated to have a secure stay. Light fell out in the lobby for a while. Nevertheless we had a great time but would not recommend a stay in this hotel room.
We stayed for five days during a pilgrimage with family and friends. Hotel was nice with a great location not too far from the grotto. The double room was small but comfortable ... I liked it ... just right for our needs in an extremely busy schedule. Cleanliness was up to standard. Staff friendly and helpful. Meals were great, never had reason to complain, breakfast abundant although I would recommend some variety from day to day. I would stay at Hotel Christina again, I particularly appreciated the location and the frequent walks to the main sites through the busy yet attractive shopping centre, The owner himself would take the time to stop for a chat at reception or during meals. I recommend Hotel Christina with no hesitation.
My family and I were on and extended (10 day) tour of holy places in Europe. Lourdes is one of them. This hotel was booked by our tour company (COSMOS) (I highly recommend COSMOS). The room was clean and had a nice view. The walls are this so we could hear our neighbors showering. The wi-fi is free but slow. The breakfast was ok. Not a lot of fresh fruit. My daughter and I wanted to eat late and the service for food was very limited. The walk to the shrine is short and easy. (It is an easy town to get lost in.) The floor we were on lost power around 9PM and it took a while to get it working. I migh stay here again but would look at other places first.
Our room had 3 beds although there was only 2 of us plus it had 2 bathrooms with showers, one had a tub, although stay away from the coffee, not that great, It was probably been sitting there for a while, location was great.Breakfast was okay
I had high hopes for this hotel, being a Choice hotel. There were other less expensive hotels in the area that even offered free breakfast, but we chose this hotel because they stated that their beds were pillowtop and we wanted a comfortable bed. The plus is that they put us in a room with a beautiful view. That's it. No free breakfast, no high speed internet, bathroom is tiny, hairdryer looks more like a vacuum cleaner, only toiletries provided is soap. Hotel is about a 15 minute walk and is located at the end of the street, however, after walking all over the basilica and grotto, the hotel seems so far away. On their website it states that they have high speed internet, but no, it's always so hard to connect to their wifi and always take you out and slow. We should have just gone to the other less expensive hotels in the area that are closer to the basilica.
