We had a room with a view over the Gave towards the castle - lovely! Staff all very pleasant and many have a basic knowledge of English - some have an excellent standard. Our rooms and the public parts of the hotel were very clean. Food was tasty. Suggestions: food portions for main course of dinner were quite adequate but we would have welcomed a little more. When our son asked for more, he was given more immediately but perhaps it would be better if more were offered. There was not always the same selection for those who came a little later for breakfast, especially if a large group had had an early breakfast. We are happy to recommend this hotel.
My wife and I came with a pilgrimage tour group and has no choice but take this hotel from the get go. The staff greeted us and find them courteous, friendly and helpful. The bell boys even managed to take our heavy luggages to our room. The hotel was only a quarter mile from the St Joseph entrance of the Shrine and very conveniently located. Breakfast and dinner are complimentary but the food is generally simple and ordinary. If your group happened to seat at the same time with another large group the dining area becomes chaotic and confusing. We had room 334 facing a parking lot with some few trees. The carpet is dark red and the two twin bed covers are dark brown. The color of the sofa cover is brown as well as the cabinet/drawers. The ambience is cheap and devoid of warm and coziness. Luckily we are at the shrine most of the time. Fortunately the bathroom fixtures are updated and clean. The cabinet/drawer includes a small fridge inside and a flat TV fixed beside. On the bright side, the location is ideal for those who stays for a few days to experience the solemnity of the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes.
It is very close to the sanctuaries, shops, restaurants. I was given a room with a beautiful view of the river and bridge. The room is spacious and clean. Yes I was happy with the hotel overall. I would definitely come back.
My family and I, returned to this lovely Hotel in September 2017. When the reservation staff, saw us they were thrilled to greet us and a big welcome. Our friend the Director Mr.Francois Compagnet, was so happy to greet and hug us. This is our favourite Hotel in Lourdes. The rooms we got is our usual spacious, clean, tidy and great views of Lourdes, the Castle and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes. The restaurant in the evening was so warm and welcoming and the senior lady, was so happy to see us. Her Name: Lilliyana, wasn't she glad to see us. The food was excellent as we dined every day, enjoying the delicious gourmet meals, the wines etc. We will be returning again the year 2018.I highly recommend this great and friendly Hotel, The La Solitude.Great for individuals, families, and not forgetting Groups. Although we stayed in a suite, the sitting room was quite narrow, and the couch depth was so short it was like a church pew. Not a great value for the money. But, this is Lourdes, and given the nature of the town's crowding problems, it's probably not a bad deal. Very close to the key sites.
A **** hotel with ***** standards, During our visit to Lourdes, we stayed here and we were not disappointed. From the moment we entered the hotel, the staff went out of their way to help us. We stayed full board and the selection and the quality of the meals was excellent. This is a fantastic hotel with staff to match the quality and cater for the large groups staying there. I would highly recommend Hotel La Solitude as the hotel to stay when in Lourdes.
I was staying in this hotel 2 times. Loved staying in this hotel on both occasions. But I was not 100% happy with the food during my first stay. Just came back from there a few days ago and the food is improved to the highest level. So now I can recommend it to anyone.

This hotel is conveniently located a few 100 meters from the gate of the sanctuary on a busy street . Having stayed here many times before I always find it warm and welcoming , it offers the usual hotel services ,most pilgrims avail of the full board option witch is promoted by many tour companies. Check in was easy with helpful staff the reception area is very impressive and well laid out The rooms are small but are well presented clean and functional with air con tea coffee ect serviced by 5 lifts which are quiet fast, the dining area is very big with self service at breakfast buy with waiters for the lunch and dinner . Being ceoliac I felt my dietary needs were catered for quiet well. initially there was confusion regarding my breakfast options even though I had made representations by emails which I communicated to the hotel prior to arrival but after highlighting my requirements the staff were ever so helpful and went beyond the call of duty to accommodate my dietary needs . The food was fine typical of those pilgrimage package deals with soup and chips on some part of the menu most days . The service was ok with staff working very hard to serve the all the residents. The bar was expensive with many drinks costing in excess of €5 again with good service . This hotel is fine for any one wanting to avail of accommodation close to the grotto in bright clean surroundings and helpful staff
