Proximity to LA Live & the Staples Center is great but the room was tiny. Had to squeeze around the bed & the bathroom was the tiniest I've ever seen. The bed was comfy enough but didn't seem the queen size that I booked. Definitely wasn't the picture I was looking at when I booked it.
The hotel was very old fashioned and rooms and bathrooms and double bed are very small
Expected what I paid for; small room, not enough outlets, slow wifi. However out of all the cons it was enough for me to sleep and take a shower in. Room was clean and staff was excellent so that's all that matter especially if you weren't going to be in the room the whole day.
Check in was quick and easy and the staff was very friendly. The room itself was tiny ( 18" on either side of the bed, tiny bathroom and closet) with a very uncomfortable bed, but I wasn't expecting much. I stayed here only because it was one of the cheaper hotels within walking distance to the LA Convention Center. The internet was down the whole night and morning when I stayed, and the staff had no idea how to fix it. I had to walk to Starbucks to use the internet. There were also no batteries in the remote for the TV, so I couldn't even use the TV. I called the front desk and they said they would bring batteries, but they never did bring them up. I would only stay here if you need a place to sleep for the night, as the room itself will be very disappointing. The hotel shows its age but everything looked clean at least.
The room needed to be updated. The furniture is old and kind of disgusting. Their are no amenities no microwave no refrigerator etc.. The parking is horrible 18 dollars a day no in and out you have to find places further away that is cheaper. We paid for free breakfast but the only breakfast was fruit cereal waffle juice no meat or eggs. One day we decided to stay in the room a little longer the maids knocked on the door 3 times and the front desk called asking if we wanted our room cleaned. WHEN WE ARE READY!! The only good thing was the staff they were friendly other than that never again!
Breakfast staff tried their best. Hard workers. Elevators not working.
Room was spacious, you can tell that its old frim the curtains, floor, bath, phone etc. Tv didnt work at first,so we tried to call reception which was a fail since the phone didnt work either. Wifi sucked and got worst. Phone reception was horrible too. The only good thing about this hotel was their free breakfast. Overall i wouldn't recomend this place.
I like the way that the hotel set everything up for me and my guest it very easy going thank you
I booked this hotel for location only. No other amenity influenced my decision, although they had no other amenity that interested me. So again I say I booked this hotel for Location ONLY
Nice breakfast but staff not very friendly, room is old and one bug was in the shower. Air conditioner was not working
Love location of the hotel right in the Downtown Los Angeles and close to Metro station.
I was in LA for a fitness conference at the convention center and looked for budget hotels in area. Settled on Ritz Milner due to cost and location. It is an older boutique style hotel, so smaller rooms, retro style. Check- in was easy, the room was spotless, bed very comfy. Somehow I ended up with a handicap room so my review on room size doesn't really count as it was huge! (was traveling alone so had lots of space) On the 9th floor it was pretty quiet, elevators worked well. Free continental breakfast was basic but well stocked. It was a short walk to so many things- LA Live just a few blocks away and many historic buildings to gawk at, plus tons of local transit options. Lots of great restaurants and the 7th St Metro was one block away. The staff was friendly and the little bar The Back Door Bar was kindof funky with a friendly group of regulars. Oh, there are cookies. They were awesome- late afternoon treat at front desk and coffee as well. So, I loved this place and would go back. However, if you are thinking Ritz Carlton, want lots of bells and whistles, flat screen t.v.s etc, look elsewhere. If you are more of the laid back yet adventurous type, go for it!
My husband and I love the location of this hotel since we go to a concert once a year at staples center, we can just walk from the hotel. The staff is helpful and the room is pretty clean. The only thing we don't like is that the hotel doesn't have parking lot, paying 20 dls or more a day to park the car close by is not a great thing for us. Also santa monica, san pedro and other beaches are not too far from the hotel
I stay at the Ritz Milner when I go downtown for a night out. No frills but is close to the Metro station and close to everything downtown.
A room was needed for a last minute trip.. The hotel filled the bill nicely...Older, but OK
Always go to this hotel for conventions in downtown LA. Free breakfast and its not too bad at all. Walking distance to many shopping areas.
The room had a very odd smell (which is permanent), but I had checked in late and it was not feasible to change rooms. The Manager was very helpful and offered a potential refund to make things right. She was very proactive, and I'd stay here again for the location and nice staff.
The regular room we got was definitely rough around the edges and this hotel may not be everyone's cup of tea. However, the value is amazing. Also staff was helpful. Our room's TV did not work and we quickly were moved and upgraded to a suite, which was more updated , larger and much nicer at no extra cost. We have also stayed at the Milner in Boston. Again, can't beat the value. And the free breakfast has the best waffles.
Safe neighborhood than other cheap hotel. There is a Ralphs nearby, which is very convenient.
I was in town for business. Location of the hotel was perfect for where I needed to be. Hotel amenities were below average. Rooms are very small.
