I was supposed to get a free 2-night stay as part of warranty work being done by Sani Dental (who are fabulous). I arrived after having had a root canal and was told I had to pay them in FULL at check-in and Sani woild subtract the stay from my bill. When I told them I paid my bill with Sani in full and showed them the paperwork proving it, they STILL insisted I pay in full or I couldn't check in. I had to take the shuttle back to Sani who told me it NEVER SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED and would call the manager to resolve the issue. I said I would not return to a hotel where I had been treated so rudely. They put me up at the Cielito Lindo where they were kindness itself - especially Josie who did everything she could to make me feel welcome. DO NOT GO TO HACIENDA if you can help it. I didn't even get a smile when I first walked in the door and it went downhill from there.
Arrived at night, the customer service was not friendly at all and slow down all the process plus we had a pet. For $ 60 room and $ 35 pet, we got small room with broken bed, broken drawer, broken fridge, opened water botels and so on. Plan to stay 4 days turn just a day. At the end found out the price of room $ 50 and pet $ 10.
I've stayed at this hotel many times and have enjoyed it very much and have also referred it to others. I stayed last month with a friend and was disappointed to learn i had to pay $35 per dog per day! Not deposit...rent! Later I read in their statement that the price was $10. Quite a difference. So i was overcharged $50. There was no damage done by my dogs. I also noticed a big increase in dining rates also. Not a great way to treat returning visitors. However, Tony (manager) was still very nice. At least one thing stayed the same.
My recent stay at the Hacienda in Los Algodones was by far my worst. Their recent changes are troubling as these reflect their values: targeting dog owners and women. If you expect that you and your visiting guests are treated with respect, this is not the place for you. - Room rates went up $10 per day, - dogs are charged $35 per dog per day, and - I’ve never in my life at any establishment in any country been treated the way I was by this abusive new Hacienda manager. What has not changed is Tony at the front desk. As always, Tony is helpful, professional and super friendly, thank you, Tony. The room rates increased $10/day. Not sure why, there are no improvements. Every time it rains the ceilings continue to cave in, floors flood, and the rain runs down the walls and windows on the inside. Dogs used to stay for free. However, according to the owner, they are now required by Mexican law to charge $35 per dog per day unless you have paperwork to proof your dog is a support animal. Is this accurate? I would appreciate any feedback on this issue. A refundable deposit is understandable but charging $35 per dog per day is just greed. The floors are tiled, so how would a dog damage anything on a tiled floor. Plus, these rooms/floors are not exactly clean to start with. Last but not least, I was blatantly disrespected as a paying guest. My friend was waiting outside in the court yard for me (he translates for me as I don’t speak Spanish) when he was verbally abused by this manager, a skinny little guy on a power trip. When I politely told this nasty manager that my friend was my guest, he refused to acknowledge me, pretended to not hear me, didn’t even look in my direction. I am a senior citizen and never in my entire life have I been treated like that. He pretended to not see me for the remainder of my stay, no apologies. My experience with this abusive and nasty manager underlines what happened a couple of weeks ago when one of the waterlines broke underneath an older lady’s house. With water gushing down the street, my friend turned the water off at the watermain. The broken waterline was not her fault/responsibility but this nasty manager yelled at her and verbally abused this older lady. My friend stood up for her and that is why this nasty manager verbally abused him. I find it deeply troubling that the Hacienda replaced their former hospitality with a manager with these appalling values.
I had a WONDERFUL time there before and after my dental surgery! The room was adequate. I took an air mattress (as I do on all travels) and slept blissfully. The patio was a great gathering place all day. I felt totally safe there. The shuttle van to and from SaniDental was nice and the guys driving were sociable and fun to get to know. The food was good. Freshly cooked. One day they were out of ice cream so coveted milkshakes were not available :-) I will stay there whenever the need arises to return... a vacation there might be nice. Take an air mattress, low price at Walmart, so you get a comfortable night's sleep.
I had not found recent reviews prior to our visit. We stayed 4 nights. The hotel is safe and gates are locked at 10 pm. You have sight of your vehicle. The room is quaint, ours had a hair dryer and amenities such shampoo, lotion, etc. I will stay again. Everyone is very nice. Food is good and so are the prices. There is an English liaison present in the mornings, Linda, who is extremely helpful. Everyone is fluent in English. They do shuttle you to Sani Dentist so you never have to move your car. They discount $15 a night on your Sani bill for every night you stay. More, if you have extensive work done. You can walk to anywhere from this hotel. There are Plenty of Americans, Canadians, and others who are very informative that you can talk to at hotel. I only have one complaint. The bed was as hard as cement. We bought extra blankets to help cushion. A topper would have made all the difference. Next time I’m taking my blowup bed to put on top. Bring something to do as we had no television stations. One in English but had no audio. Free WiFi but Netflix didn’t work well. It was cold and rainy when we were there. No fear about warmth. Excellent remote control. You have to have a $50 cash deposit upon checking in, which you get back at checkout. All in all, not a bad stay.
Rooms are clean and employees are very friendly. Good food and very large servings. Most speak english and appreciate you being there and show it by catering to your every need. Very safe and secure with gates closed at night to secure personal and vehicular safety!
The room was clean and comfortable. I thought the bed was perfect, and the heat in the room was comfortable. There are few TV stations; I suppose a negative when you are recovering from dental work. The staff was very friendly and accommodating; the food was very good and very inexpensive. The shuttle service was convenient getting me to the dental clinic 2 blocks away. I could have walked. The hotel was fully paid for by Sani Dental Group; it would have been $50/night if I'd have had to pay. I'd definitely go back.
Alex was great! Very personable, he made my stay at hacienda hotel very nice! the hotel was very cute! The food was good, And the dental office was very close to the hotel! Very happy sani dental group was able to waive the hotel fee because I had a lot of work done to my teeth
Best stay to stay in Los Algodones! This is my second time there... Tony Montana is a wonderful man. He took care of us once again... great man to trust. He easily could have taken advantage of us and went out of his way to make things right! Highly recommend staying there!
