Though this wasn't the most desirable looking hotel & room it was exactly what was expected, considering the price. I made a last minute reservation & wanted something cheap since I was driving from southern New Jersey. The room had cable, a mini fridge and a hot shower. We brought our own towels, sheet, comforter & pillows to make it more comfortable. It was just minutes from the aquarium where the wedding was in which I was attending. If I had to go back to Riverhead I would consider staying here again to save money..only if I was staying one night (anymore I would probably prefer something a bit nicer & cozier)
Among other hotels, this hotel is quite affordable, and even does not charge for the pet!! Staffs are really friendly, and breakfast was awesome!!
This has great staff and is a decent hotel despite the bad ratings from before and low stars. It's a decent 3 star in my opinion because the rooms are pretty big and there's a pool. You can also walk to the little strip of nightlife in the town
This hotel had a great rate with good amenities. The rooms were comfortable double beds, and we had 3 separate rooms so the connecting back deck was a huge benefit for us. They had a great pool, and they offered complementary coffee that was actually pretty good! Don't let the name intimidate you, this was a great hotel for the price!
It was much better than reviews but not worth $150. I understand that it's NY and the weekend but $100 at most. Staff is great and decent place
The room itself was very basic--no extra towels, a lamp that didn't work, etc.--but it was clean and it was comfortable. What was excellent was the staff, especially the man at the front desk, who responded immediately to our needs, suggested excellent restaurants, gave us directions to where we wanted to go. Also impressive were the fresh bakery goods--croissants, homemade donuts, etc.--for breakfast. the pool was also nice. Although it was far from fancy, I would happily go there again.
The bed was not a queen, the room was small, the bathroom needs an upgrade and did not appear all that clean. The entrance door to where the room was did not lock and the hall way was dingy and in need of an upgrade.
Here are the major problems: 1. SAFETY: As a woman traveling solo, this room was unacceptable. The room had a ground floor window with NO LOCK ON THE WINDOW--completely broken, both the window latch and the screen, which was hanging halfway off the side of the building. No smoke detectors in the hotel. Plastic covers on lights burned and melted to the lights because they hadn't been removed. Vast majority of the hotel was boarded up. Drinking and open drug use on the premises. At least 20 drunks partying in the hallways and parking lot and in cars in the parking lot. Smell of marijuana from several rooms, likely heavier drug use going on, given the clientele of the hotel. Desk clerk refused to acknowledge it was a problem or resolve the situation. Parking lot poorly lit, parking in back of building adjacent to wooded area near drug users. 2. IN POOR CONDITION: Toilet completely inoperable (did not flush, leaking from the bottom), no smoke detectors, curtain stuffed into the window heating unit (window broken), bed linens in extremely poor condition--cigarette burns, tears, stains, ceiling in bathroom falling down with water stains on walls. 3. UNCLEAN: Dead bugs in the corners, toilet not cleaned, cobwebs in corners everywhere. Human feces smeared on the wall.
My rating is based on a 2 star hotel/motel - We attended a wedding in Westhampton last weekend and needed a place to stay within our budget and close enough to drive after a wedding. It was a 15 minute drive to Westhampton and quiet location. The rooms and decor are rather old but clean. Our room had a TV, fridge, microwave, iron and blow dryer...standard room amenities. The pool was nice and clean - looked newly redone. The genteleman at the counter provided great customer service, allowing us to checkin in a little early. Overall, the hotel could use some updating but it provided a quiet, clean place to sleep within our budget.
Reserved a non-smoking room - and got a smoking room. Room was fairly clean - everything worked. Grounds are nice, but rooms are just passable. I would only recommend this because it seems the best deal - or only availability trying to get near North Fork in August.
The hotel looked run down. Rooms were ok. Carpets need to be cleaned. Towels were dingy. Sheets were. Clean. And they had a nice pool. Soda machines were empty of water.
The price is the best thing about this hotel. While the bed and bathroom were clean, the rest of it needs a dramatic facelift. The chair in the room had more stains than the actual fabric!!!
Fairly easy to get to - adequate parking. Some minor repairs are needed (plumbing, locks). Bathroom was not cleaned well from previous occupants. Complimentary breakfast had good pastries - cereal, bowls, spoons would have been good.
it was ok for the price,we had a room right out side the pool which was great
Room smelled. Comfortable bed. Good location.key didn't work.
It was Memorial Day weekend and it was the only hotel the wife and I could find on Long Island that didn't require two a two nights stay. We booked for only one night and right off this saved us from having to spend twice as much. Now for the details: - the mattress is very firm; only two rather flat pillows making it uncomfortable to watch TV in bed. We wished we brought additional and larger pillows. - noisy at night from what seemed to be many local youths hanging out at this motel; the window air conditioner hummed and rattled slightly so it drowned out the noise for the most part. -there is no room refrigerator. -there was only two bath towels and they were on the thin side; luckily we brought our own. We should have brought our own pillows too because the ones provided weren't that comfortable. -there was plenty of hot water to take a bath or shower at night but in the morning only luke warm water. - the staff is really friendly and courteous. -we only needed one night and this motel did the trick since there were no others available for only one night, saving us at least $180; for this reason we would stay here again next time if the situation is the same. -no amenities to speak of except what seemed to be a nice pool. -by the way, the photo shown is credit to the photographer for making the best out of an otherwise drab and dated facility. I think there was only one good vantage point from which to take a good photo and the photographer certainly found it.
This was the only hotel with in budget for me at the time of booking. I knew it woul not be a top hotel because I figured I would get what I paid for. Actually I got what I paid for and was pleasantly surprised. It was old but was clean and furnished nicely. The room did have cigarette smell to it but I do not know if that ever comes out. There was a fridge and microwave in the room. My room had two doors one opened to the hall the other to the pool. In the summer this would be nice. In the winter the windows leak and the door leaks. Lot of cold came in. There was no heat in room, But they had a space heater that warmed it up well. The staff was great. I had a noisy neighbor the first night otherwise it was quiet. This is a no frills hotel. I was able to get wifi but I am not sure it was provided by the hotel. Location is close to the main street and river parks. For the price this place gives you a place to sleep and shower.
Probably the most affordable (cheapest) motel in eastern Long Island. Riverhead is not a nice or interesting city but it is close to the Hamptons and Montauk. At $100 total (including tax) for this motel per night (in October), it is overpriced. It's a completely no frills motel and is worn out. It would be more worth it if the price came with a simple breakfast. Recommended only for a single night; do not stay here (or anywhere else in Riverhead) if you are heading to the area on vacation. All in all, you should always be wary when a motel has "budget" or "econo" in its name!
very nice no complaints. Serviceable pleasant front desk person
This is a miserable and dangerous property. No bellman to greet you as you arrive, however a very solicitous prostitute works the parking lot, and is enthusiastic in offering her services. A noxious perfume of smoke and mildew permeate the halls. A symphony of door slams, screaming, shrieking, and moaning echo through the night. Sound unsafe? Have no fear, the state police are right across the street, and are quick to respond, as I found out when a fight broke out in the hall complete with threats of homicide. Alas, hotel staff can't be bothered with such problems, they ignore repeated phone calls to the front desk. On the plus side, there is amble hot water in the shower.
