It was so convenient to be able to walk to and from the airport. The room was perfectly laid out for a family traveling with children to all stay together. And it was nice to have a lively lobby with lounge options for relaxing. We really enjoyed our stay.

A convenient location for anyone flying early in the morning. Checked in the night before and had restful night before flying. Room comfortable. Regular amenities too.

Being able to walk off our plane and 15 minutes later be checking into a beautiful hotel was such a change from late night transfers between airport and hotel and early morning traffic getting back for a connecting flight. The hotel staff are polite and professional, the breakfast was incredible, and the room extremely well appointed and comfortable.

Nice hotel but hard to find from airport terminal. Very poor signage. Then after a long international flight we were told it would be more than an hour wait for both room service and to be seated in one of the three restaurants. Next time we'll book a hotel at south terminal where there are a lot more food options.

Very comfortable hotel. Great for overnighting before a flight

Best thing about the hotel was its location. It is connected to Gatwick airport by a tunnel so you never have to leave. Perfect for a short layover but it is outside the city so plan accordingly if you're sightseeing.

Not really a luxury hotel, but good value for money considering the convenience - walk to North Terminal.

The hotel fit the bill. The location was great, size of room, service very good.

Nice hotel just watch out for the voluntary service charge at the bar

We were greeted by a charming receptionist who couldn't be more helpful and friendly. As a member of the hotel group, she even upgraded us - the room was very comfortable except having to climb into a bath for a shower. Always a little difficult for many seniors. No shower cap but that might have been a slipup. We enjoyed a light meal in the Urban Café for dinner but didn't have breakfast. When we checked out the porter had an airport trolley ready for us which meant that we just had to wheel it through the joining tunnel and checked in. So much easier than fighting traffic to get to the airport in time for our flight. The Wi-Fi worked well, beds were comfortable and good selection of TV programs

Certainly one of the best choices for a traveler in transit to London.

It was night stop over before long fly to USA. Very convenient location.

impersonal, pricey.no reservation found upon arrival

People stay here to be close to their early morning flight and it's well worth it. They give you a big room and comfy bed, bigger than most you'll get in Europe. The only downside was poor water pressure. But it did the job. Next year we will get there earlier to relax and enjoy our stay a bit more before the big flight home.

Friendly staff, perfect location with in the north terminal

Have stayed here before when flying back to Florida from the north terminal at Gatwick, and the location just makes it so easy. I had my teenage son with me this time, so not being too rushed in the morning was great. The staff are very pleasant and the rooms have great comfy beds and bedding..a must for a good nights sleep before a long flight.

The Gatwick Soifitel is very convenience to the airport, an important consideration if you are traveling to or from the airport. Only suggestions is that hair conditioner be available in the rooms (not combined with shampoo). Food and drink were above average for an airport hotel.

My son and I stayed at the Gatwick Sofitel for 2 nights before our flight back home to the US. We arrived way too early for check in but were able to leave our luggage with the concierge and our valuables in a lock box at reception at no extra charge. Using the Gatwick Express, 30mins we were in the center of London for 2 days of sight seeing - highlly recommend The Globe Theater tour. The food in the restaurant we ate in was excellent, although the service was a bit sloppy - smashed glass of wine over the table - but pricey. Walk 2 minutes to the terminal and shop Marks and Spencers for a better deal on food. Note to self - Remember not to buy a bottle of beer if you have not packed a bottle opener!

Not only was the hotel all that I had heard about it, but it was more, the Asian restaurant was fabulous and the service and food wonderful, I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody that is flying out early to anywhere to stay here, you will go to your flight refreshed and ready to face the day

Great hotel stayed with our daughter clean and convernient location
