On arrival we received a very warm welcome by the staff on reception. The rooms were cosy and very clean. Nice decor too, bearing in mind the hotel shaftesbury metropolis hyde park is a small boutique hotel it is well kept and has a nice homely feel to it! There is a very good selection of full English breakfast in the morning and a excellent selection of continental breakfast too, again a very clean restaurant with staff delivering excellent customer service. Overall an excellent stay and a great hotel which has very kind and helpful staff. The location is excellent with Paddington station just a mere 7 minutes walk around the corner, and local shops restaurants/ bars amenities nearby in abundance. A notable mention is the area is relatively quite compared to other parts of the capital. I would just like to say a very special thank you to all the staff at the hotel and a special thanks to Angelo the duty manager at the metropolis hyde park we really enjoyed our stay! Thank you
The staff were very friendly and helpful, Especially Angelo. Thanks for a very pleasant stay. We will be back. The room was clean and breakfast was good. They went out of their way to accommodate our every need
Great stay. Clean, comfortably. Rooms are a little small, but I wasn't expecting anything else with it been london and for the price. Staff were polite and very helpfull. Even surprised us with wine and chocolate as it was my birthday. Breakfast was very good. Will always recommend this chain of hotels. Always do there best for you.
Metropolis is osasis from the hussle and bussle of London. This was a great choice for our stay in London. Close to the Tube at Paddington, Hyde Park and gorgeous little Venice. An easy nice walk to into London through park and past Buckingham palace. The staff where great, special thanks to Camelia on the front counter for all your help.
We booked a room in this hotel and upon arrival we were told our room had maintenance issues and we were transferred to a "sister hotel" 10 minutes away. Once there they could only offer us a room 1/4 of the size of the original one we booked with no refund or money back. Not to mention the whole hotel was under construction As we sat in the lobby waiting for them to show us another room- which was no better-they gave the same line to 2 other groups that came in and transferred them to even another hotel. Total scam. Don't waste your time or money. Please read reviews for the Shaftesbury Premier hotel London paddington because that is where they will put you regardless of you booking here.
The staff are wonderful people and the location is good for Paddington railway station. The rooms have all the amenities you need to make your stay very comfortable. I will be booking another room at this hotel in the near future
We shared a room for three with my niece and sister. It was not a large room, but it was satisfactory, very clean and although the weather was very hot, the air conditioning was efficient. The hotel is recently renovated, it is simple, without big salons ,just a few sofas to sit for a while, but very well located at walking distance from Paddington Station and many bus stops very near , which offer easy access to all London. The personnel friendly and helpful, especially for me Francesca and Alexandra at the reception. I will go back the next time I visit London.
I was re-directed to this hotel because of a problem with my booking in a sister hotel of it, nearby. I'm clarifying this, as I want to show that I wasn't very positively pre-disposed at arrival. Still, I had a very good experience overall and I'm happy to recognise it. Good location, friendly and helpful staff, good amenities, decent breakfast. Not very spacious, admittedly, even though I was offered a complimentary room upgrade. I will happily come back if I get a good value rate - this time around, it was during Wimbledon week and the booking was done through a different hotel, so at 216 UKpounds per night this was hardly good value for money in my opinion.
We had a pleasant stay for 2 nights with family, friendly staff especially, Ms. Camelia & Mr. Angelo. prime location and very clean hotel. although we had little issue with fridge but the staff took care of very promptly.
My wife and i went to see tom petty in hyde park so stayed here for one night. It was perfect for what we needed. Small room but very clean and had everything we needed. We didn't eat so cant comment on that. We really enjoyed the 12 o'clock check out time. If you want a hotel experience i'd say look else where but if you want a decent bed for the night at a decent price and good location then this hotel is for you.
