Rydges Kensington London

Great place, excellent location. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and good continental breakfast included.

The location was the best part of booking this hotel. It's so close to the metro (Underground), just across the intersection after coming out of the station. There are several supermarket or mini markets close to the station which helped us to get a quick meal, snacks, breakfast, and drinks. The staff were nice and helpful with a smiling face which made us feel welcome. We had to walk up the steps with our heavy luggage, and the male receptionist came out to help, but when we checked out, only two females there, so we didn't ask for help. The bathroom had a heated rack. I forgot to ask what it was for, but the towel hung on it was warm and cozy, and we also used it to dry our clothing. One strange thing happened in the mid morning while we were still sleeping. The fire alarm went off, and we didn't know why. It stopped later on its own but no staff came to check on us, and I also forgot to tell/ask the hotel staff about it when we checked out. We needed to check the weight of our bags, and they had the tool.

After a two weeks of travel at a mix or great and not so great hotels, we spent our last night at Rydges and loved it! The person who checked us in was so kind. She upgraded us from a king room to a king suite that was off away from the other rooms so we would get a good nights sleep before we flew home. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the bathtub was terrific after a day of walking around in misty rain, and the location was great! I only wish we had stayed there sooner. I highly recommend this hotel!

Conveniently located near “tube” station and several famous museums with easy access for the West End of London’ shopping and theatre hubs; and good place to leave for Heathrow Airport.

I would say that the service at this hotel is very good , but the cleanliness is just ok. Maybe because condition of the hotel , it's a bit out of date. But for this price i would say its acceptable.

I picked the hotel due to its price and location. It was right across the street from the Gloucester street station, which made it easy to access from both Heathrow and most of the down town attractions. My only issue with the hotel was that I had requested a Queen size bed but received an upgraded double twin room.

Not good for people in wheelchairs, small lifts and narrow hallways, For the rate they charge the hotel is not worth it.

Friendly staff and great location near Gloucester Rd tube station. King suite was large. Bath was roomy and had a deep soaking tub and a separate glassed shower and towel warmer.

I've stayed here on two long visits and it's wonderful. The rooms aren't extravagant but they're extremely cozy and clean. The location is perfect: very near a useful tube stop, museums, Hyde Park and great restaurants and pubs. Staff is lovely. Highly recommend!

This is a nice hotel close to the tube and the museums. The area around the hotel is limited for restaurants. The area is a pretty wealthly part of town with little night life. Over all it's a nice place to stay.

Delighted to find a perfectly located, impeccably comfortable hotel in Kensington with a good bar, good restaurant and unfailingly helpful and cordial staff. We'll be back!

Excellent location, in walking distance to the museums, Harrods, Hyde Park and the Tube. The service was wonderful, everyone was polite and accommodating. The internet was the only downside no good connection. But we were there to relax and not work.

Hotel needs to vacuum rooms. 3.5 or 4 stars is more realistic.

I wasn't too sure about the hotel because it was priced good but after arriving there I was amazed. It was in a great location near the the Tube and Bus stop. The staff was simply.....AMAZING. I could not have wanted for more. I have told my friends when they go to London, they must stay at Rydges Hotel

The Rydges Hotel was a wonderful hotel to stay in during our recent family vacation to London. We liked that the hotel was a small intimate hotel. We were in walking distance to Kensington Estate. The Gloucester underground was less than a block away. Starbucks and restaurants were all around us along with currency exchanges. The staff was warm and friendly and very accommodating. It was a joy to return from the hustle bustle of the busy London city to return to our home away from home at the Rydges.

Rydges Kensington was a quick walk to the tube, which certainly helped me because I was in and out of my hotel everyday visiting different places. My room was pretty small, but I did not mind. I was barely there at my hotel and I am of average size anyway. I liked that a room was ready for me as I had arrived early that day before check-in. I got in around 9am. Obviously, this will not be the case for everyone. However, this allowed me to get an early day on the sights in London. The staff was friendly and helpful. The wireless was free. My only suggestion would be for the hotel to get an ice machine. I hated having to bother everyone with requests for ice everyday. I would prefer to be able to get it myself. Otherwise, the location was convenient. There were cheap food options close by: grocery stores, fast food locations. I would definitely stay again.

the hotel was wonderful! would definitely stay there again. The location was right across from the tube stop.the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Hotel was perfect if you're looking to stay in London. It is right next to the underground (subway) and the staff was amazing. Will definitely stay there again when I go back

The room was sufficient. When I was ready to check in it wasn't ready and I had to wait in the lobby for one hour. Other than that there were no other problems.

Exceeded our expectations! The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was large, clean, and modern. Very quiet environment far enough away from central London craziness but close enough to get to things quickly by Tube. East walking distance to Tube, museums, and Hyde Park. Lots of good food close by that wasn't expensive. We will definitely stay again.
