Hotel has no elevator, no bellman, no phones, no nothing. We where put on 3rd floor, to make it up to the 3rd floor the stair case is tilted to the right and 1 person barely fits let alone a suitcase, room was super small, my husband and I could hardly put our 4 suitcases inside...(we had come from a 2 week cruise with another couple; they where more insulted than we). Staff in front office was not friendly at all. We were told we would have a good breakfast in the morning; it consisted of a slice bread and a cup of coffee. Did I mention the room was $200. dollar per night. MM-Florida
Firstly lost our booking, was for 3 Adults, ended up in a double room, very small, a mattress came later, which we had to make ourselves, and then we could you enter the bathroom, so had to change the room around, the shower, leaked at the top so wet the whole bathrooms, the breakfast, was very, very plain, not mugs left for coffee. Second night, put into a bigger room, but it has 2 double beds in, again, could you access the bathroom easily, we had to put the mattress and one side of the bed to the wall, to access the bathroom, the Health and Safety sign, for the fire, was not filled in, no info in the rooms, for breakfast times. would not even reckon to a tramp on the street, to stay there.
Hello all, My partner and I found this hotel through booking.com. The room was awful just like the reviews say. We had room 19, up ten flights of dodgy, non regulations stairs. The room was dirty. Window wouldn't shut. No remote for the TV. No hot water (if you can even get the shower on). Only a half loo roll in the room. But worst of all I forgot my ring. I had taken it off whilst trying to work out the shower in the morning before leaving. However, i gave up after running the water for 30 mins and getting no hot water. At this point i was pretty annoyed and so left and forgot my ring. I phoned the hotel receptionist who said they couldn't find it . He was then incredibly rude when i asked them to check the hoover bag or look under the bed. He hung up on me! and refused to give me a supervisor or owners contact details. He just kept giving me the receptionist details. IF ANYONE STAYS IN ROOM 19 AND FINDS IT PLEASE PHONE THE LONDON METROPOLITAN POLICE WHO I HAVE LEFT A REPORT WITH. It isn't worth much but has huge sentimental value to me. Thank you!!!
We stayed in for 6 terrible nights! I've backpacked sometimes, but had never gone through such experience. The rooms are terribly dirty, the drapes haven't been washed for some years (they're even kinda black), the mattress was old and we didn't sleep well. Our shower didn't work at any time (even after having asked them for 3 times to have it fixed). The staff was not rude, but didn't make any effort to make us feel well. On the first day we did not have hot water or heating system and they had someone over to fix it only by 10am the next day. In other words, we were tired and cold and they did not have anyone to solve the problem. Cold shower it was! And the breakfast they included was ridiculous plain white bread and butter and corn flakes. Really, Don't stay in this hotel, unless you are broken and desperately need a place to crash.
I am not a person easy to complain, however in this case it is hard to remain silenced! No heating inside the hotel (5-7°C outside) and rooms with broken windows! ! That was all offered for 65£ (discounted price from booking.com)! I've stayed in 2 or 3* Hotels... but never saw something like that. After 30 minutes being in the room I couldn't feel my feet. The bed was next to a broken window and with no closing mechanism for it. We could hear everything from outside and were freezing. I wish we knew that in advance, however no comments regarding this issues we could find online. With the money taken (refused by the hotel to get reimbursed) at 9pm tired after long day, we had to find a place to stay overnight.... Please don't waist your money and time to go there!!
I visited this hotel on Tuesday April 25th and checked out on the 28th. After reading reviews on here, I was nervous. I had visions of a room with a door that wouldn't lock, no hot water and a funny smell in the room. Well the last fear was realised. So I sprayed some deodrant and it helped the drain smell, but within a couple of hours, the smell was gone and didn't return. I was in room 19, which was on the very top floor and was the last of the three rooms up there. I would have preferred to do without 7 flights of stairs, but I just told myself it was good exercise and carried on. The staircase is narrow and there are about 60 odd steps (counting was something do on my journey). The room itself was small. But most importantly, it was clean. The television was bigger than what you get in a Travelodge or a Premier Inn. The decor was nice enough and I liked the bathroom. The shower wasn't getting hot, but you just had to leave it to run for a couple of minutes and it gets hot. Yes the room was small, but it was a base for when not out doing the usual tourist thing. I did stay in one night and my better half watched a film. We quite easily chilled out and found the room partly responsible, due to it's intimate size shall we say? The staff were friendly and everything was great until the last 30 seconds. The one member of staff asked for a tip and held out his hand. My other half gave too. I am not a cheap person, but he did nothing. I saw him once before that. There was another guy who was usually there who deserved a few quid and would have swung him a few coins. They really like you to pay cash for some reason. I didn't have enough on me, so the receptionist offered to take some now and some later. He did say we could pay on card if we wished though and so we did. I'd stay there again. Good location and opposite a shop. Lovely road and 5 mins walk to Victoria Station. Just go through a booking agent to get a good deal. I paid £220 for 3 days. I wouldn't really want to pay more. I'd recommend this for a short break. You might get room 19
Partner and I stayed for two nights. Once we reached our room on the top floor having somehow made it up the seven flights of stairs we thought it was okay, just a simple bedroom with en suite as expected. Bed was comfy enough, wifi worked fine and tv had sufficient channels to watch when settling in for the night. However, there was no hot water which resulted in the coldest shower ever. After a good 15-20 minutes of trying we did manage to get some hot water which only came out of the showerhead in small bursts which was really annoying. Staff on reception were pleasant enough, didn't keep us waiting when checking in and out, breakfast was quite disappointing however, the options being cereal or toast with tea and coffee machines present. Probably wouldn't stay again, for what we paid for it I don't think it would be asking too much for a little bit more from our stay
No heating, no wifi, no hot water, dirty. Breakfast served from 8h. Please do not go in this hotel. Just awful. Too expensive for what you get. I haven't been to such a place for a very long time. This is unacceptable
The room: + nice and clean - very small, the windows are broken, and the air comes in to the room. The windows can't open. Breakfast: - basically the breakfast is cornflakes, toast, jam and butter. - not very good. Service: - They messed up our reservation so we had to change room after our first night. The hotel: +Central, got a bus to the door, that drives to most top attractions. - No elevator, the steps are very bad to walk on, and there is very noisy.
All in all had a pretty horrific experience, they have about 10 sets of stairs with no lift. The receptionist has a severe attitude problem, don't really know who he thinks he is but needs to bare in mind he runs a 2 star establishment so if he continues to speak to the guests the way he does I'm sure he will be having to find a different career path. If I had read the reviews before booking I would definitely stayed well away. Then to top off my horrendous stay I had to pay an extra £10 for them to hold my luggage when all other hotels do it for free.
