Went to this hotel last Friday for Kim's works party. The hotel is in a great location right on the race course and next to the golf club. Check in was relatively quick and the room on the 3rd floor was clean. The works do went well and the breakfast Saturday morning was ok. However all was not perfect. The room looked dated and the bathroom was very small. Also while the car park was quite large it was for hotel and golf course and fairly crowded. The spaces were really a bit to small for modern cars. There are 6 spaces close to the hotel but these seem constantly busy. Overall the hotel was ok but there is room for improvement in some areas
Party of 4. Great treatments. Lovely pool and relaxation room. Lunch was included and was good value. We had an all day spa and I would say get there early as it got busier after lunch. Would definitely recommend have been twice now. Lovely helpful staff too
This Marriott is set alongside the lingfield race course. Great location in the Surrey countryside. Nice bar and patio area. Staff very attentive and courteous. Rooms spacious and well appointed. Only criticism was the TVs didn't work which was not acceptable.
We have stayed here several times and have thoroughly enjoyed it every time. Staff are very helpful and welcoming; they have always provided very efficient and friendly service in all parts of the hotel. The rooms we have stayed in have all been a good size with a pleasant outlook and have provided excellent, comfortable, well-cared-for accommodation. Lighting is good, even down to flexible bedside reading lamps and everything in in both main rooms and bathrooms have been carefully thought out. Storage space is excellent, beds are very comfortable, heating/air con is very efficient etc The only slight problem is that TV choice could be much better and easier to manage. However, what is really impressive is not being able to hear the Gatwick air traffic from inside the room. The bar is good and staff always pleasant; the restaurant breakfasts are superb and evening meals have a very good choice of food which is always beautifully presented and of an excellent standard. It has been an absolute delight whenever we have come here which we shall certainly do again. The smiling, friendly staff at breakfast time make an excellent start to any day - I am looking forward to the next visit!
Myself and my family have just recently stayed at this hotel for one night on the way back from Birmingham, my children are 3yrs old and 8yrs old. This is a fantastic hotel, the children were given little activity packs to do when we arrived, and were made to feel very welcome. The staff are extremely helpful and polite and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was lovely too and made even more lovely by the fantastic views of the Lingfield race course and the golf course, definitely a room with a view. There are some lovely little country pubs nearby too. We will def be staying again.
Brought my mum for a spa afternoon for her birthday. We had cream tea in the bar which was lovely, although perhaps a little overpriced. The spa staff were lovely and the facilities were nice and very clean. It wasn't as relaxing as we had hoped as there were screaming children jumping in the pool, but the hotel/spa can't be blamed for that. We retreated to the relaxation room and you could still hear the screams, could maybe do with some soundproofing? I booked two 25 minute treatments for myself and my mum. My treatments did not last this long and my file and polish was awful - nails were all different shapes and lengths and paint job looked like my 4-year old niece had done it! Unfortunately, because it was done in a dark room I didn't see quite how bad it was until we were leaving and could see it properly in the light. My mum however had no complaints about her treatments. A good day on the whole, but I wouldn't rush back.
What a shame! £280 for one night for the worst Customer 'Service' ever ! A dreadful experience - how can you justify that price for a small room; Gestapo style interrogation before we even got to the reception to check that we could enter the hotel - we booked TWO rooms (at an eye watering £280 per night!) and only one could be traced, despite having paid in full, in advance. The Spa 'lost' our booking; lunch took over an hour to arrive & when it did was stone cold, the Manager simply tutted & rolled his eyes. Having hosted a charity benefit all day we returned to an over flowing, raucous bar, it took over 10 minutes to be served at the bar, by this time we were informed that we were 6 MINUTES too late to order any food (we had worked all day & were starving) & room service was only serving sandwiches. (How is it our fault that your staff too SO LONG to attend to us that your own deadline was missed??!) Breakfast was a disaster - the most unfriendly reception ever, we waited to be greeted & taken to a table that in the end we seated ourselves - your employee STROLLED over eventually & with NO apology. When we informed her that there was no water she said that it "wasn't her job" to refill it. She had no engagement skills, no customer service skills and no care at all - a dreadful Ambassador for your business. You cannot expect your location to carry you forever as inevitably your guests will become so disillusioned that that WILL find an alternative. All in all a desperately sad (long anticipated) birthday celebration that was ruined. You would have to be offering an awful improvement to attract our business again.
We stayed at the Marriott Lingfield to enjoy the racing and visit the spa and golf. Overall the hotel is ok and would probably get a four star rating. However, it is severely let down by poor in room TV. We don't really want to go out at night so thought we might watch some TV. I don't think I have ever in many years of travelling (and having just spent a month in India) come across such a poor in room television and entertainment service than the "speedway" service offered by Marriott. It had all the hall marks of disinterested management who don't care about or understand customers. There were just 22 channels, many of which were sky sports, and four which didn't work. No free movies and no secondary channels. You can get a far better TV service free using free serve, but maybe Marriott haven't heard of that. Dreadful and I will be careful to check in future if I ever conside Marriott again, that the hotel doesn't use speedway. I realise that complaining like this is futile, I also made my views know to the front desk, as the management of big chains like Marriott won't take any notice, but I can at least warn other customers. I am sorry for the staff who are put into this position by poor management, but there you are.
I'm guessing this is our fifth visit to Lingfield Park. I gave a negative review back in December but in hindsight I think the hotel was just overstretched with guests. This visit however I only have positive comments. The hotel management did take on board my comments so fair play to them. On arrival the receptionist said she'd find us a room overlooking the race course as well as a king size bed. While we were sat in the bar waiting (as you do) she arranged for our luggage to be put in the room for us, then came and found us to give us the key. We haven't eaten in the restaurant for the last couple of visits due to the service and quality of the food being poor but we decided to give it a chance this time and were pleased we did. The service was quick and friendly and the food was excellent, first class in fact. The racing was a great day out, it always is. Afterwards we enjoyed a few drinks at the hotel bar and was looked after by Emil the bars Supervisor. You must try his cocktails, they're amazing. He always treats us like VIPs. Breakfast on both mornings was lovely. The chef made me feel very special and cooked poached eggs to perfection. Both me and my husband adore Ray. He always recognises us and is so welcoming first thing in the morning. It's never the same without his cheery face. It's a lovely place to stay whether you play golf or go to the races. It's clean, welcoming and the customer service is second to none. We're already planning our next visit.
We booked one night in this hotel as a base and wish we could have stayed longer. Polite and efficient reception staff upgraded us to a superior room - there was no racing so I guess they were quieter than usual. Our room overlooked the racing track with a small balcony and had two double beds, plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space and a very nice bathroom. Plenty of choice for breakfast and you could have your eggs fried just for you. The weather was beautiful when we stayed and I could imagine sitting at the plentiful tables right by the course cheering on one's horse ! All in all a very pleasant stay.
