Very cheap price, which is what I was looking for as I had to make an unexpected trip to London, Ontario. The room was clean, bed reasonably comfortable, hotel was easy to find, and located close to several chain restaurants and to shops, and it was a quiet hotel. There was a small refrigerator and a microwave in the room, but a distinct lack of outlets for easily plugging in laptop or recharging 'phone. The room was an odd mixture of modern (flat-screen TV mounted on wall) and quite old stuff (scratched up, battered dresser and table). Room was very cold upon arrival, but the in-room heating unit did warm it up some when I raised the heat - BUT the bathroom never got warm and was, in fact, a total icebox. That made it VERY chilly when you need to go to the loo in the middle of the night and I was shivering after my morning shower. Breakfast is included in the price but was very skimpy.
The room looked good, but after being in it a few minutes, we realized that there was a funky smell in the bathroom and the carpet smelled like it had just been vacuumed, kinda dusty. For the price this was an okay place to stay, you really do get what you pay for. We stayed 2nights at $65 per night. This includes a continental breakfast, which is just cereal and toast, coffee, really basic. The good: the beds were Very comfortable, lots of pillows, motel was quiet and our room had a lovely mural painted on the walls and clouds on the ceiling. The bathroom smell turned out to be from the water escaping the tub when we showered, it was a definite design flaw with that tub, plus it was slanted and narrow where you stand to wash, so it was very treacherous taking a shower. On the second day the carpet smell had died down, we both slept well each night. My husband gave it a 5/10. We made out alright but we'd stay elsewhere next time.
The room we stayed in was larger than most places we stayed in. The decor was updated and room was clean. The staff were nice and friendly. Breakfast was simple and fresh, eating area clean. Given a choice where we wanted to stay, they had enough rooms, so they didn't make us feel that we had put them on the spot.
I was quite impressed when I got into my room and it had beautifully painted walls! The room was clean and beds were comfy. The breakfast was very basic, cereal, bagels, juice, but for the price, I was very pleased. Would stay again.
We booked a double room but they must have given us the worst room they had..... or at least I hope so because if they have a room even worse than this one #138 they should close there doors completely and do some reno's. I would be so embarrassed to rent this one to anyone. To admit their rooms are so bad. The parking lot only had a few cars so I don't believe they were very busy at all. It seemed quite empty. They should have given us the nicest one available. It was very old looking when we walked in... dirty walls and in bad need of a paint job. All 4 adults could barely walk in the room because it was so small. Then I walked into the washroom. It was just terrible..... dirty, Chipped boards, walls, ugly in need of paint door, blue bathtub with very dirty ceramic joints and caulking. We all were looking forward to a shower but none of us would go in that shower. I was so mad. What are we??? Bums off the street.... for sure we were very unimportant to them. I would have gone to the front desk and demanded another room but it was late and the office is closed. You can ring the bell and someone will answer and get you what you need but it was very late and I just wanted to get to bed for our early morning start. I was tired and needed some sleep. At least the beds were clean and comfortable. Then during the night I could hear everything outside... people walking, cars, even the cars on the road. Turned on the air conditioner to drown out the noise but it kept going off constantly so it only helped a bit for the noise. In the morning we went over to get some Continental Breakfast. There was no one there to greet us which would have been proper and the right way to run a business. Why did they even bother putting anything out..... there was nothing. 2 kinds of cereal.... different breads for toast and a few bananas. Just enough to get you going in the morning until you can get to a restaurant to buy a real breakfast. I meant to take pictures in the morning but I was in such a rush to get out that I forgot. Sorry. I saw pictures online of beautiful painted walls in the rooms they have but no I guess they forgot to do the one that they gave me. There are so many Hotels in that exact area that next time I won't even bother to try it again.
Our stay for the most part was great. The cleaning staff did a great job throughout the weekend ensuring the rooms were cleaned, and the options for breakfast were ok. The manager on duty on the Friday when we checked in could have been more pleasant, as in that he actually liked receiving guests rather than it seeming like a chore but the staff person (youngish female) on Sunday morning at breakfast and at check out was super pleasant. It would be nice if the hotel invested in chairs for people to sit on outside their hotel room rather than having to take the wooden chairs from inside, out (but not a big deal). Some sort of protein would have been nice for breakfast other than peanut butter (allergies), such as cheese or hard boiled eggs, but made do with toast and a banana.
After a horrible experience at our last hotel we were cautious as we checked into this location. Being our first time staying in a Knights Inn we didn't know what to expect, but what a comforting experience it turned out to be. The front office was excellent to deal with, assisting us with finding a great location for dinner. The room was clean, with wonderfully comfortable beds and nicely painted walls, which my kids really enjoyed. It seemed like we were staying in a villa courtyard with the mural. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you for the relaxing stay.
Needed a place to overnight when on my way from Ottawa to Chicago. I have been in pretty similar hotel rooms that are almost 80% more expensive... Parking. Kind staff at the front desk. Clean room/bathroom. Comfortable bed. Close to restaurants, supermarkets and convenience stores.
This hotel is not bad, it was clean and the exterior is very nice. The rooms inside seem to not be as nice as the exterior façade but they were clean and the maid service was excellent. This hotel was conveniently located for my purposes and I will likely return.
I booked a room but the date was wrong, it booked for today and not a month from now when i needed it. i called knights inn and the manager told me this wasnt a problem just go back on the site and cancel. as i try to do just that the site would not allow me because i was to close to the check in time. i call back and explain to the manager and he told me that it was my stupidity to book the wrong date and i had to deal with the chargers and that it wasnt his concern, very rude WORST costumer service ever!
