Holiday Inn London Mayfair

Room is old, cold and needs to be refurbished especially for what they are charging to stay per night.

Upon check-in the room I paid for (two beds) was not available. They told me that when I chose the room online, it was only a preferred room. I told them I needed two beds because, the manager told me they could give me one bed and a couch pull out once it was available. This was a perfect solution, as it wasn't ready yet, I told the lady I would do some sightseeing and come back later. Once I arrived back at the hotel and went up to the room, it was one bed and everything else was full. One of my fellow travelers ended up sleeping on the floor. The staff was completely unaccommodating.

hotel is tired, staff good, no TV for two days in a row

This hotel scores a lot of checkmarks on my list as a business traveler. Can't ask for a better location, it's across the street from Green Park which gives you the perfect option of taking the tube to and from the Heathrow airport. The hotel is 5 mins from Buckingham Palace, it's about an 8 min walk to Piccadilly Circus and the shops on Regent St. Most importantly, there's a Starbucks right across the street! There are some cons, but the pros surely overshadows it. There are no outlets close to bed. I'm sure most travellers use their cellphones as an alarm clock, so it would be convenient to have it by the bedside. The security vault had glitch and couldn't remove my belongings out of it. But a quick call to the service desk solved the problem. They came up and opened it for me. To close, if you're going to London for the first time. This would be the perfect location for your stay. It's close to everything.

Perfect location, shower with very low water pressure (almost No flow although complain), bad AC(very low heating performance), very small family room.

Tube location just around he corner. Rooms are OK but little noisy.

This hotel is perfectly located in central London. Many of the city sights are within walking distance and the tube is across the street. Upon check-in we were upgraded to a spacious executive room with a jacuzzi tub. Our only complaints are that the toilet is kind of wedged in between the wall and the tub. At the very least they need to relocate the toilet paper holder. Also, there were some fairly large cobwebs in the room and a missing drawer handle.

We stayed for 13 nights at the Holiday Inn Mayfair and felt it was a very good value. The room was clean and we were surprised how quiet it was at night even though we were in the heart of London. The air conditioning system was very quiet and we appreciated that it did not blast cold air on our heads at night like some places we have stayed in. The windows open so we could also enjoy fresh air. We walked to everything and there was a great selection of coffee shops and restaurants within a 5 block radius. The housekeeping staff was very good and we were happy to tip them on our leave. The restaurant/bar area was a bit stark for our taste so we mostly went out to sample the city. The wifi internet connection had a glitch one day. Would definately come back again.

This is the fifth or sixth time that we have stayed at this hotel. They have definitely made efforts to upgrade although by American standards some will consider it to be a little run down. That being said, the location for the price is tough if not impossible to beat. Restaurants, the Underground, West End Theatre, Parks for those inclined to run in the morning are all right there.

Fabulous for close proximity to Green Park tube and London City

this hotel was a great choice, it was close to the tube, which allowed for easy travel. this hotel is also close to Piccadilly circus which was fun at night, even thought its close to Piccadilly its not noisy

The hotel was OK nothing fantastic. It was in an excellent proximity to all the exciting stuff London has to offer

great location! near the Green Park Station of the Tube, walking distance to Picadilly Circus and the Theater District also close to Buckingham Palace. I jog, so the park was so convenient. Staff were very friendly and full of information. The room was clean and well attended. I would recommend this Hotel.

The hotel was in a great location! The Staff was helpful with questions about things to do in and around London.

Can't ask for a better location ... tube station, ATM, grocery shop ... all within minutes walk from front door.

I was in London on business when a number of activities were taking up many available hotel rooms. I tried other tried and true hotels like the Athenum and Meridium but no luck so at the last minute I took the Holiday Inn Mayfair. It was fortunate to get a room in the location I wanted but unfortunate that the conditions weren't better. The hotel needs physical updating and the staff needs training, particularly in language skills. The computer hookup required a wired connection that didn't work and took two days to get corrected. The rooms were reasonably clean and roomy by London standards. It would be hard to find a better location with access to Piccadilly, good parks, close to the Tube, shops. It will probably be easy to find better quality for your money in the area.

excellent

THIS WAS A RETUN TRIP TO THE UK AS I HAD LIVED THERE FOR 20 YEARS, THIS WAS MY RETURN TO A PLACE I REALLY LOVED LIVING IN AFTER 20 YEARS. IF THE HOTEL STAFF COULD HAVE MADE MY RESERVATIOS FOR THE THEATER, INSTEAD OF ME HAVING TO WALK ALL AROUND SHATESBURY PLACE OVERALL IT WAS A VERY ENJOYABLE TRIP

Everyone was extremely helpful, and friendly. Things were a little expensive, but that's to be expected. Things could have been cleaned up a little better, especially the bathroom. Perfect for people who want to see the city, and not their hotel.

walking distance to picadilly circus, buckingham palace, british museum, harrod's etc. tiny rooms. 1 working elevator size of a broom closet. nice on site pub. terrific staff, very friendly. good deal as part of package with airfare although posted room rate was gbp 495/night 2 doubles. pity the fool who paid that.
