They say you get what you pay for but really. I spent last night in Harefield Manor hotel never again. Check in went smoothly collected my key card for room 203 only parking was across the road in their alternative accommodation, had to walk back across the road with my suitcase to room only to find a very dated grubby room with No aircon and only ventilation was windows opening on to a noisy main road. I then sat on bed it was as if there was no mattress - hard and squeaky. I returned to the main build reception to complain and after a bit of negotiation was given a key to a room in their new block back across the road. I found this room to be as lacking in charm, cleanliness, air conditioner with windows that didn't open. So I returned to my original offering and excepting my lot only relief being it was for just one night. Finally getting only 5 hours sleep due to over heating, lack of ventilation, road noise other residents coming and goings then early morning staff banging doors. I sadly wouldn't recommend this accommodation to others it is long overdue a full refurbishment.

Room and corridor stank of fresh smoke, room was far too hot, opening window meant road noise was too much to sleep. Requested to change room at 1am but was told this would involve paying extra. Ha, already paid £95, don't think so! Poor water pressure in shower and nowhere to put anything. Breakfast was below average and coffee (which was very much required) was mediocre. I'm sure there are positives but these are irrelevant imo. Colleague booked this for me so I can't add to reviews on In summary no sleep, crap shower, next time I'll go elsewhere.

We stayed at the Harefield Manor Hotel in Romford for 3 nights and after coming from a most uncomfortable Air B&B accommodation it was a welcome change. We stayed in the King Suite and it was lovely and large. The king sized four poster bed was extremely comfortable. The suite also had a full size couch in a lounge area that was fantastic to stretch out on and watch TV after a long day of site seeing. There was a full bath with a tub which we were most grateful to see. The hotel also includes breakfast which has many selections both hot and cold. They have a full service restaurant as well as a bar and an outside patio. The staff were friendly and helpful. We did have an issue with the lock to our door and it was tended to promptly. . A very enjoyable stay!

Stayed here for two nights as a base for exploring some of the nearby area - Waltham Abbey etc. We stayed in the new part of the hotel, across the road from the main reception. The room was clean with iron & ironing board, tea/coffee & kettle. Bed comfortable. Ample parking. Reception staff very pleasant. Breakfast was very good - everything freshly cooked and tasty. The hotel is not far from the centre of Romford which has a few restaurants. Would certainly recommend it and would stay here again.

Arrived to find the car park full, and a notice giving the address of the location of additional parking. Not knowing the area I had to ask reception - it was across the main road where the hotel has an additional building. Very friendly and helpful reception staff, but a pity they didn't tell me my room was also in this other building as I wouldn't have brought my luggage with me only to take it back again. The room was modern and a reasonable size, and OK for the price I paid. However, as it is on the main road there was a lot of traffic noise. In the morning it was also noisy as several guests were on the move around 6am, and once awake the traffic noise was there to make sleep a little difficult. However, there was good compensation at breakfast, where there was a large choice of hot and cold food, and seemingly no limit to the amount you could have. Given the relatively cheap room cost I wasn't expecting such a good breakfast. Simple check-out, leaving the key card in the room, and again very friendly staff. What I saw of the main building looked much nicer than the block across the road, but I can only comment on the reception area, lounge and dining area.

Stayed here with my husband and in laws on a Saturday night. Check in was fairly easy however I was told they were about to cancel our rooms because we didn't leave a deposit or phone number (they didn't ask for it when reserving). The room we had 223 was recently upgraded and renovated and looked lovely. There was a nice tea and coffee selection available. It was really clean and the bed was super comfortable. We had a problem that the shower tray didn't empty for a long time and the curtain at the window didn't close. We also couldn't use the wall/bedside lights since the light switch was so high on the wall you would have to get out of bed to turn it off. I told the staff on check out and they apologised about these things and said they would look into it. Breakfast had a lot of choice available and there were plenty of spaces available to eat so you weren't really crowded or rushed to leave. One thing they could improve on is their bar. We went in the evening for drinks (around 6pm) and was told we couldn't put out drinks on the room bill but they also didn't have hardly any change if we paid cash for the drinks. They also didn't have an ice bucket for our prosecco and gave us a metal tin (the kind you find in a sandwich deli with their fillings in) with ice in it. Overall I was happy with the stay and with a few improvements it could be the great hotel if deserves to be.

Stayed here in June for a family funeral. Rooms were very hot and no air con.. We stayed in two rooms, two of us in one room across the road and we had to return to ask for further directions, even the receptionist had trouble finding our room. One of the room keys did not work, in fact it opened the room next to us. We asked receptionist to check it but he obviously reprogrammed it without telling us, said it was fine, but then the other key didn't work. We were told in the morning that if one key is reprogrammed both have to be! We asked for a fan for night two and were handed one to carry across the road to our room. We got there to find it was broken and couldn't be bothered to go back for another. It was fine with the window open but too noisy. The other room (in the main building) was very dirty. My husband came home with a severe case of scabies and despite two emails the hotel has refused to even acknowledge our complaint. It has taken two visits to the doctor and three tubes of lotion to clear, as well as a lot of sheet and towel washing. Could not have been picked up anywhere else. Would never stay here again.

Stayed recently for a family funeral. Very pleasant hotel and staff. The room was very comfortable and clean. Buffet breakfast was plentiful and good selection. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

My family came from Plymouth for a party. They found harefield manor on the internet. So went for a drink with them on the Friday night at the hotel bar, as they had a bad journey, and weren't in the mood to go out. So our first impression of the place was bad, as we where greeted by members of staff standing in the entrance smoking. So we made our way to the bar to be meet with a few guys eating an Indian at the first table next to the bar. Not good. The Bar (OMG) step back in time. Asked for a pint that was ok. Asked for a white wine spritzer had to buy an small individual Bottle. And a bottle of soda. Then asked for coke it was also a small glass bottle. Which the barmaid tried to put in a pint glass. Bacardi coke served in a cut glass brandy glass😂😂. Then the woman next to me ask for a gin and tonic. And was asked if she'd like a glass with it. Love to have seen how you serve gin & tonic ice and a slice with out a glass. My aunt said the hotel was ok for one night but would never go back there. I don't think there's a reason for me to ever go back there ever. The staff I meet need a kick up the jacksy Lasting impression was fawlty towers moves to Essex.

Stayed at this excellent hotel for one night. Room on ground floor in old lodge house, nice furnishings great bed and lots of space, drinks in the bar were reasonably priced and breakfast was of a high standard. A great hotel.
