First night tolerated although felt something on the bed in the night. Second night, mouse in the room. Complained at reception to have the receptionist bring a cat to the room and throw it through the door! Photos show the room..don't waste your money. Spoke to the manager today, her response was 'this is Central London, there are more mice than people'!! Really!!! This is a hotel serving breakfast sure as eggs are eggs there wont be just one mouse in this hotel. Stained bedding and net curtain held up with string.
We stayed there for about three days and it was very cute and perfect, the bathroom was newly renovated and clean! I recommend it! The location was good, it was only a few blocks from a street with many souvenir stores and restaurants.
Just returned home from a 1 night stay at Europa hotel, got to say first impressions was good. Picked this hotel for the location a stone throw away from Paddington station, a £13 taxi ride from Piccadilly Circus. When we entered hotel it was clean, lady on reception was very pleasant and got us checked in efficiently, she told us that our room was on the very top floor, omg 78 steps later and I'm at my room (needing new legs lol). Opened the door to twin room, beds where comfy and clean, bathroom is small no room to move, floor gets flooded from shower hence another drain in floor, my room needed a bit of TLC, as paint was flaking off ceiling and windowsill, a gap in window (but this was fine as room was very warm). and there's a tilt in the floor, only 1 plug socket worked. Breakfast was lovely, continental you get cheese, ham, natural yoghurt, croissant, toast, cereal, tea, coffee & juice plus jams and marmalade on the table. Don't travel to London very often but would I stay here again maybe.
I stayed here with my daughter for her birthday shopping weekend.. the hotel was so easy to find after leaving Paddington station .. 5 mins walk ( if that ) .. easy check in , we were located on 3 rd floor . No lift .. a lot of stairs .. room was very spacious as it was for 4 people .. bathroom very small but did it’s job . The room over looked the front which was a busy road but didn’t bother us.. clean & tidy but needs a bit of TLC as dated. Bars & restaurants a stone throw away .. only issue we had was someone was knocking our door early hours of the morning which was a Bit unsettling as it was only myself & my 14 year old daughter.. we ignored and whoever it was went away .. breakfast was continental very basic , staff a bit abrupt ..location is perfect.. on a whole I would stay there again for an overnight stay as is a budget hotel and easy access to all over London .
Tiny three person room with a TV falling from a bolt in the wall over the end of one bed, a floor that tilted like a triangle, a shower that flooded the floor and slimy shower curtain, teeny-tiny bathroom and roasting hot unless you open the window and then freeze and are kept awake all night by street screaming.
Location is great - 3 to 5 minute walk to Paddington Station and Hyde Park. Lots of food options around and pretty quiet at night. My room was tiny (not unexpected) and not value for money (kind of expected). There was no barrier around the bottom of the shower and the staff made the water overflow and leaking my problem - was told I couldn't use the shower properly. I had to use it hand-held with the water only dribbling out. Housekeeping wasn't optional and they left my room unlocked one day - staff didn't care. They ask you to leave the key (actual metal key) with reception when you leave and they don't check you are the actual guest when you return - just say the room number. Security was not a priority at all. I will never stay here again and, unfortunately, I cannot recommend it.
We were given a basement room with a double and a single which was a bit tired but clean and fully functional. (This was despite booking for two adults and two children! c/o booking.com not the hotel's fault). It was large. TV v small though! Bathroom new and clean. Good shower. Heating on all night. Chap on reception friendly. Communal areas had books, Christmas decorations etc. Breakfast in a small basement room. Six tables for four so some couples were sharing and groups split in order to eat during the 1hr 30 window. Two ladies served everything. They were very nice and very efficient (& even gave the children a chocolate biscuit!). I wouldn't have argued with them though! It was a continental breakfast - pretty European really - with cheese, ham, yogurt in addition to cereal, toast, juice, hot drinks, croissant. Location v handy for Paddington and a row of nice bars and restaurants. Overall it did the job for us for a one night stay. £135 when all the big chains were closer to £300.
A big Plus is the location of the hotel, walking distance to London Pedington station. Lots of food option available near by and very good breakfast, staff was chairing. Only a bit expensive I fell however us it was a value for money as we got a good deal while booking . Thanks Europa staff for your help.
Was going to London with my partner to celebrate his 50th birthday and to celebrate remembrance weekend. We booked this hotel for the location but were really disappointed to find a less than satisfactory room, with a tiny bathroom which had an awful shower which soaked everywhere. There were bulbs that needed replacing, no glasses in the bathroom, no lid on the toilet seat and it was generally very shappy for the area it is in. We were on the third floor but were offered no assistance with our luggage. We went for breakfast the next morning and were surprised there was no English breakfast, just a continental-I just filled myself up on toast. Would not stay here again or recommend to anyone.
Told from the start free parking , and full English breakfast wich is on our booking confirmation, upon arrival parking is not free and was charged an extra £15 . first in pression on arrival were OMG what a dive the place was dirty and smelly unorganised receptionist didn't no who we were even tho we booked well in advance and we had phoned a few days before to confirm. After climbing 3 floors of steep stairs no help with our bags . The room nothing like the pictures on booking.com the shower was mouldy the walls and ceiling were cracked and need a good make over as we had driven over 4 hours and had little time before our concert in the royal albert hall we decided to shut up and put up as it was only 1 night .the breakfast turned out to be continental this was changed after we complained to booking.com .would not recommend you have been warned.
