Doubletree by Hilton Hotel London- Kensington

Very pleasing hotel in South Kensington walkable to two Underground stations. Plenty of restaurant options within walking distance. Appeared to be a safe area even when walking at night. Quick Underground access to Paddington train station for travel to Heathrow airport.

The Regency is a nice hotel. The room was comfortable and worth the price. The only negative was the hotel wifi kept going down and was very inconsistent.

I enjoyed my stay at The Regency hotel. Staff was very help. They even came and knock at my door after I missed two wake up calls after a late night. Wow it saved the day. Otherwise I would have missed my flight home. Very comfortable beds. The only thing I did not like was the doors to room are quite loud when closing. Would highly rate.

Hotel was impeccably clean, modern and up to date. WiFi Service Excellent. Staff extremely accommodating but did not overly insert themselves. Everything we asked was immediately addressed. Did not eat at the restaurant but went for drinks at night in the quiet bar area - very nice. Location was the best. Less than 5 minute walk to South Kensington Underground Station with many good but not overly priced restaurants and pubs in the area. Rooms are small but we didn't spend much time in the rooms other than sleeping. Maid service impeccable.

If you are looking to get away from the central London craziness and have more of a local experience, this hotel is a good choice. The staff were not very helpful protocolary when we were checking in. The were not able to give us a straight answer on the size of the bed or why my wife and I did not have a full or queen size bed. In the end it was resolved, but this was not the experience that you want when first arriving at your hotel.

Good location Nice staff Small room WiFi only at lobby Kensington area is great

- Hotel rooms seem to be newly remodeled. About 5 minutes walk from the nearest subway station. - We spent $1000 for the entire stay and nothing free (e.g. bottle water, Internet, etc.) was offered automatically. - Staff is professional but not necessarily the warmest. - Only liquid hand soap and shower gel in the bath room. No lotion, shower cap, etc. - Uneven floors and they would shift when walking on them, which made me feel like on a boat. Don’t like it. - Room has an AC unit in it. The AC was noisy. I am not sure how guests could sleep while it is running. - Memory foam mattress was way too warm. The mattress cover didn’t fit. Every time I pulled the comforter, the mattress cover (bed sheet) would be pulled at the same time. I asked the house keepers not to make the bed so I didn’t have to fight with the bed but hey just kept doing it. I asked for extra bed sheets but they disappeared after the shift change. Not very good communication between shifts, I guess. - We were told it would cost 50 GBP for a taxi to go to the airport. The taxi they called for us ended up charging 65 GBP. Even though this is not really an issue with the hotel, I still felt misinformed. - Not enough lighting in the room. Too dark. I guess all hotels are this way nowadays.

I stay at this hotel every time I am in London. They always exceed expectations!! Thank you for another great holiday.

You really want to know clean, well located and comfortable. Done, Done and Done.

The good: staff, rooms, bathroom, location (for us), price. The not as good: gym (subpar), bed (too hard).

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for one night as part of a trip to see family in July 2013. The hotel is in an excellent location for London Underground travel as well as being near excellent restuarants and bars. The rooms were clean and had good a/c and bathrooms. The staff were friendly and helpful, we would stay here again as the price was good value.

Very close to tube and in a quiet neighborhood!! Rooms were clean and comfortable.

We've stayed at the Regency before and were delighted to return. The room "makeover" was contemporary and chic. Yes, the rooms are small but had all the space we needed. The lobby was nice but will be even better when the current renovation is completed. We also enjoyed the ambiance (quiet) and friendly staff at the Bar/Restaurant. The hotel was spotless and the location is perfect...near the Tube...and in a beautiful neighborhood We look forward to staying at this hotel in the future.

Can't beat the location for museums and walking to tony shopping areas. Would have liked a nicer breakfast.

If you want to stay at a great location within the center of London and don’t mind a small room this is the place to be. Service was excellent and staff was eager to please. Within walking distance to Natural History, Science and Victoria and Albert’s Museum. Great pubs and restaurants close to the hotel. If you enjoy Indian food, a visit to the nearby “Thali Restaurant” is a must. The only drawback is the size of the rooms. But who needs a big room when you’re in such a marvelous city. Highly recommended.

You cannot beat the location of the hotel. It is right along the Picadilly underground line, several blocks from Hyde Park and with in an easy walking distance to some great restaurants. The hotel itself was okay. I had read several reviews about the staff being unfriendly, but everyone was very nice and accommodating to us.

Great service from everyone at The Regency. They were there to make you happy. Breakfast room service was fast, good and reasonable compared to typical London prices. Location was a neighborhood setting. Transportaion only a few minutes walk - South Kensington Station - along a street lined with restaurants. Concierge was very helpful. Really enjoyed the Club Deluxe room.

Good

First visit and spent five nights. Hotel staff was friendly and responsive, however that did not make up for the house keeping issues (towels in the room that were not clean and ragged, provisions in the room for two when the booking was for three.) While west London is expensive, this is not a value for money property.
