Days Inn London Hyde Park

Recent guest reviews

Our small group (11 people, 6 rooms) were looking for a hotel near a Tube stop and multiple restaurants/shops. Our ideal hotel also would offer free WiFi and free breakfast. This hotel fit that description. Initially the mixed reviews concerned us until we realized that most of the reviews complained about room size. Yes, the rooms are small, but this is London. You expect compact space unless you're willing to shell out bigger bucks. Our group just used the hotel as a place to sleep at night, so it didn't matter that the rooms (and showers) were small. The rooms were clean and free of cigarette smell. the staff was friendly and the WiFi worked. Breakfast is a continental (cold) breakfast with meats, cheeses, pastries, cereal, and juices. Shops and restaurants stayed open fairly late for those times we wanted a late snack or last-minute souvenir.

This hotel is in a great location, and is clean and reasonably comfortable. The fittings and fixtures - especially the shower - were cheap and a little shabby, but everything was functional. The single room I was in was small (but most of the single rooms around Paddington are small) but had everything I needed. The breakfast was not fancy, but perfectly fine. Basically, this is a perfectly good place to stay extremely convenient for Paddington, Hyde Park and Lancaster Gate area

We arrived in London too early to check in, but the desk staff tagged and stored our luggage for us while we went out to enjoy the city. Our room was kept very neat and clean during our 4-night stay, and we were pleasantly surprised to find a water kettle, along with PG Tips tea (our favorite) in the room. The complimentary breakfast was more than adequate, with cold cuts, cheese, cold cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, boiled eggs and a nice variety of pastries. We felt very safe walking in the area and would certainly use this hotel again in the future.

I have stayed here once before and stayed here a second time due to its proximity to Paddington station. A very short 3 block walk and you're there. If you just need a place to sleep without a lot of frills - this is the place for you. Some other reviews have mentioned the small rooms and they are indeed on the scale of a pod hotel, however they provide a place to sleep and clean - up at night. Be forewarned that street side rooms can have street noise - so request a rear room.

This hotel has small rooms but its a nice place overall.

Perfect spot near Paddington and other Underground station. Breakfast had variety and was good. Room was simple and got the job done.

This hotel is at a good location for access to all parts of London easily. Paddington station is very close for access to Hyde Part, Central London and access to the airport is easy. The room was a bit too small and wasn't there too much space to move around but the hotels in this price range in London are pretty much similar. Staff was helpful. Good WiFi in the room. The breakfast was great - with so many choices. Much better than a standard continental breakfast. The room was very clean. Compared to other London hotels I stayed at, this was is better. Would stay there again.

Nice staff. Breakfast was OK. Really good location. Next to Hyde Park, airport and lots of accessible attractions. Rooms were tiny but whatever, you should only be in there to sleep anyways!

I selected this hotel for its close proximity to Paddington Station and I would give it high marks on that - only three blocks away. While the rooms are small they are fine if you are only looking for a place to sleep. However, there was quit a bit of traffic noise from the street so make sure to ask for a room on the back side of the hotel. There was also lots of sound transfer from adjacent rooms and hallways so it is difficult to get a good nights sleep - if you plan on staying here bring your ear plugs.

Understand that European hotel rooms are often smaller than American ones, but this room was seriously tiny. The room temperature was impossible to regulate. The bathroom was nearly impossible to move in. The continental breakfast was good, plentiful. Hotel staff were all very helpful and polite. The location near Paddington Station and Hyde Park was a real bonus.

That'a we did and while we had supposedly a double bed, it was much smaller than in other hotels, and mattreses were hard. Floors weren't vacuumed well. Otherwise ok - good location and breakfast

My experience was pretty average. I had a room with two twin beds and I wouldn't lie, it was crowded with two 20-some girls and our suitcases. The bathroom door literally hit into one of the beds so we couldn't open it fully. However, we used the hotel only to sleep in, so it didn't present too much of a problem. The hotel is really close to Paddington Station, which is a real advantage in using the Tube.

Although my twin bed room was incredibly small, and right off the lobby, the value of the hotel was enormous considering its proximity to Paddington station, and the hotel's unbelievably accommodating and courteous staff. I was cold one evening and they searched to find me an extra blanket; they printed out a document for me at no charge; and they provided a substantial free breakfast. All in all an excellent value- I would stay here again.

Clean room, ensuite shower. Short walk to underground. Reasonable selection of pubs, cafes, food types in same area as hotel. Room is small, designed to sleep in, quick rests, not for folks looking for US sized hotel specifications / expectations. Remember your in the UK, space is a premium. You get what you are willing to pay for in London.

The hotel is in an ideal location, giving you both the Heathrow Express and the tube accessible from Paddington Station. Clean, small, internet and breakfast available, you can't ask for more. Sure if you want to spend $300 go stay in other places, but for the price this is it.

The Days Inn Hyde Park was a great value for the price. The rooms were clean and it had a good breakfast every morning. The location was great for catching the bus lines.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Rooms were very clean, but small. No air conditioning in rooms, but will provide fans. Proximity to Paddinton station made access to Heathrow and the rest of London easy -were able to check in from train station the day before flight and Heathrow is only 18 min. away by train. Many restauraunts and pubs are close by.

Two nights for a one day excursion in London for our family of 5 made this perfect. Clean, centrally located and very inexpensive - the hotel was perfect for our needs.

The location was good and the rooms were clean, but the staff apparently kept their storage and supply closet right outside our room. Very early every morning, the noises of people dragging stuff up and down the stairs woke us. Also, our roof was very creaky and the lobby was right above us. Note that WIFI is not included- it's an extra 5 pounds a day. The bathroom was very small. There was a sticker on the bathroom wall claiming that the hotel offered free products in case somebody forgot something (specifying shampoo, deodorant, toothbrush, razor), but when we asked the front desk for deodorant, the girl seemed perplexed and said they didn't have any. The front desk staff was very helpful most of the time and always available. The rooms were cleaned/towels replaced daily. The blow dryer, however, was very annoying to use. There is a button that must be held down the whole time you are using it, and it's fairly hard to hold down which results in it turning on and off every few seconds-very frustrating. Overall, we were happy with our stay. If you get a room on the -1 floor with a staircase outside the window, you should ask to change rooms if you don't want to be woken up at 6am.

The positives for this hotel: Breakfast was not bad and staff was mostly helpful although they did not usually do what was asked. The worst part of this hotel is the noise. I could hear people in the rooms around me walk, cough, and even snore. The room was so hot I could not sleep on my first night. Staff was supposed to turn off the heater but they did not. Although I asked in the morning for it to be turned off it still was not off when I returned late in the day. I had to request it off again and finally someone came and turned it off. Each day I had to call for an extra towel as there were three of us in the room and even though they knew this I always had to call for it. We had to switch rooms because our first one not only smelt so strongly of mold but the entire bathroom floor and carpet outside the bathroom was soaking wet. I would probably find another place to stay.
