I thought the accommodations here were great for the price. The cooked breakfast consists of eggs, beans, mushrooms, meat, toast and coffee/tea. WiFi works fine. It's just 2 blocks from 390 bus and 4 blocks from Tube Station. Staff is very helpful.
This is without doubt the worst place I've ever stayed in my 58 years. The place was dilapidated, in bad state of repair, shabby and filthy. There was no lock at all on the bathroom door, it didn't even close. The breakfast was the worst breakfast I've ever had. It was SWIMMING in grease, and if the beans were cooked at all they were freezing. There was never a friendly gesture at all from any of the staff, they just about passed themselves. Only we had no where else to go, we would've taken the money hit and went elsewhere AS SOON as we arrived. Basic doesn't begin to describe the room, no amenities whatsoever. No fridge, no tea or coffee in the room. Just two beds crammed in this tiny room. I cannot be scathing enough about this place, do yourself a favour and don't even THINK about staying here.
Check in very fast. Residential area a little way off the beaten track but easily walkable. Basement room had very strong, damp musty smell. Room a little tired, waste bin very rusty, odd broken appliance parts and rust. Very basic, no facilities. Could do with decorating. No bedside table, lamps, kettle etc. Walls a bit thin could hear someone next door coughing loudly and constantly, although was ok over night. Wifi constantly falling over. Room reasonably clean, towels clean and fresh. Breakfast room a little cramped and menu limited. One juice, tea or coffee, toast and a smallish full English. Served quickly and in a friendly manner although beans were cold. Friendly staff. OK for a cheap one nighter.
We stayed here for only one night. (Thankfully). Our room was a basement room. Small and very basic. Sparse and dated decor but the bed was comfy. We arrived back to find those in the room next door mid conflict. This went on for hours. We decided to phone the management highlight the issue and ask to be moved rooms. Surprisingly the hotel was full. They made no effort to address the noise emanating from those next door. I get that proprietors cannot be held accountable for their clientele - but they should at the very least try to rectify the situation by addressing those causing the problem. Not suggest as the surly and unresponsive owner did that I should have knocked on their door and told them to stop!! Breakfast was served cold with an even colder demeanor. I would not revisit and would urge others not to either. On the plus side it did have parking and didn’t let the rain in.
This place does not look like the photos shown on their website, rooms are tiny, very rundown, urgently needs renovations throughout. Mound everywhere (see photos) Need a good deep clean,Breakfast was adequate. Coffee was nice breakfast was very small. No kettle no tea & coffee facilities in the rooms, will not be going back again. We paid £72.00 was not worth half of that. stairs were broken & dangerous too.
Let’s start with positives. The room was clean and staff were nice and it’s in a great area as a base. Room was small stairs were broken. No lamps no kettle or hairdryer. Bathroom was damp pain peeling but clean
Reading the previous bad reviews, they are spot on! This place is a dump!! Our tiny (supposed to be double) room smelt so badly of cigarette smoke and damp, paint was peeling all over and a single limp curtain was hanging off one side of the single dingy window. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will never visit again!!
On arrival you notice the tatty windows peeling paint and the damaged steps into the building, once inside the first thing you notice is the humming banging vibrating vending machine in the hallway. Met by a foreign lady thats the spitting image of Rosa Klebb, eek, the so called reception room doubles as the breakfast room, looking directly into the so called kitchen, dark dreary wood chip adorn the walls, windows running with condensation. With a few mumbles we were given our key and told our room was downstairs, so off we went half way down the dirty starcase we noticed one of the steps is broken, covered in carpet just an accident waiting to happen, so past the mousetrap and the redundant shower cubicle leaning against the wall, oh and not lets forget the abandoned toilet roll on the hear as well into the dark and dismal room we went, one curtain hanging off at one side, and wait for it the tv cable actually coming in the window, which you must keep open to watch telly, or if you want to lock the window there is no telly for you, pathetic to say the least, one towel each, a cigarette burn hole on the bedsheets, no tea or coffee making facilities, and one single light in room. one bedside cabinet with the most disgusting stains in the drawers, yuk, the bathroom was equally discussing, rusty shower fittings, the shower would not drain away it just continued to fill up, no sink plug, the outlet itself was disgusting, the bathroom cabinet was just as bad as everything else, filthy. if you could watch the tv without the signal falling of well good on you so it was useless, paper thin walls adjoin a public lavatory next door so it was all sound effects when it was being used, yuck again. During the breakfast the staff talk foreign the entire time between themselves, extremely rude, food was equally bad, as cheap as it comes, coffee came in a mug but only half full, it was disgusting. So to summarise this place is not fit for human inhabitance let alone the vermin the clearly live there. totally disgusting, yuk yuk yuk
Stayed one night, was amazed by the poor standard of the place: nothing has been painted since the woodchip (!!) paper had been hung; no mirror in room, so had to ask for an extension lead so my wife could use hair dryer with bathroom mirror. Only lead was filthy, it's neon light flickered and only one outlet worked; one light in the room, so take a torch for when you go to bed; bed sheets & duvet cover torn; curtains didn't cover window & were very dusty; furniture was extremely tatty; had to hold wardrobe door closed with suitcase, as bathroom doorway is obstructed by it; washbasin is tiny; shower tatty; toilet seat very flimsy; had to hold window open with a coat hanger; breakfast room can accommodate only half of the guests, leaving people standing around in the corridor; no toilet roll holder - luckily there was a spare roll on the window cill, as the other had a very suspicious stain on the paper. On the positive side, the sheets & towels were clean, parking is free, the staff that speak English are friendly & helpful and the breakfast is good. Overall, way too expensive for the standard.
The room was clean and tidy, with fresh towels, but the bathroom was tiny and cramped. Bed was not comfortable but I was so tired I slept fine. Breakfast was a big disappointment - given the number of guests, I was surprised there wasn't a rota/ time allocation system because when we arrived, there were no spaces in the dining room and waited 25 minutes before being seated. Breakfasts came individual so when I got mine (last) the first to arrive had finished. No glass for orange juice and no sausages. I did also feel that being English disadvantaged us because every other guest who was foreign of some kind was treated warmly and nothing was too much trouble. That was not our experience. If you're disabled, getting into the building will be very difficult too.
