The location is great. I brought my bike and managed to cycle virtually everywhere I wanted to go via Hyde Park and the Cycle Superhighways. The hotel is nice, the room was good. What wasn't very nice was discovering someone's dirty pants in the wardrobe, which made me wonder about the thoroughness of the cleaning in general. When we mentioned it, a member of staff removed them, but it did spoil the experience a bit. Also, I paid extra for breakfast on booking thinking we would get a hot meal, but we were told that only included a continental breakfast and the veggie breakfast I'd hoped for was another £10.50 each. That wasn't clear on the site I booked with. Also, there are coffee machines and tea bags in the room. When I called down, a member of staff brought a pot of hot water up for tea, but a kettle would be handy. Having said all that, the staff were nice and the hotel is lovely (apart from the pants!).
The Arbor Hyde Park Hotel surely rates as one of the very best small hotels I have stayed in and I can say this without a shade of doubt. Apart from being a very nice hotel, I have to say, the staff are outstanding! Adriana, Ciprian, Monika, Ioana and all others were always attentive, intiuitive and could never do enough to ensure we were comfortable and our needs were answered. The hotel is located in a quiet street on Lancaster Gate and is housed in a classic and elegant Victorian terraced building. It is just a few steps from Kensington Gardens/Hyde Park and 5 minutes from Lancaster Gate Tube Station on the Central Line. The area is very clean and nice for walking with the Mitre Pub dating from 1850, just around the corner. Paddington railway station is not far with many restaurants and pubs nearby. One enters to the reception and lobby area which immediately sets a tone of subtle design elegance and calm. The welcoming receptionist Adriana was efficient and quickly got us checked in and on to our rooms. The room was large with a large King sized bed and lovely modern bathroom with a shower which had options for rain shower, hand held or waterfall mode. This hotel is immaculately clean throughout. There are options for breakfast, Continental is included in the price and is quite sufficient with a wide choice for every taste. However, if guests extend to the cooked (additional price) option, there is classic English, vegetarian and other options. This is cooked fresh and is first class. We visit London regularly and have stayed in various hotels. For the first time, I can say with every certainty that we will in future look to book again in the same hotel, the Arbor Hyde Park.
The biggest advantage of this boutique hotel with interesting modern interior is definitely its location. Arbor Hyde Park is located in tranquil part of Lancaster Gate, just a few minutes of walk from Lancaster Gate underground station and approximately two hundred meters from Kensington Gardens. Regarding our stay in this hotel (five nights in first half of January), despite we have not been generally disappointed, we have expected more. The room we stayed in was spacious enough (even for four persons), sleeping quality was good as well, but on the other hand there was still cold in bathroom (in room we used portable radiators) and we have not been able to open the windows and ventilate during entire stay therefore the air in the room was not ideal. The staff was professional (waiters as well as receptionists), but again the room service was unbalanced – one day we missed large towel, another day shower gel, day after toilet paper. But probably the biggest negative aspect was the breakfast. The free breakfast was included in the room price, but the “package” was really basic or I would call that “same, same but not different” i.e. everyday was available three kinds of ham or salami, two kinds of cheese, tomato, cucumber, boiled egg, one kind of bread, toasts, one kind of yoghurt, two kinds of pastry, mixed fruit salad, small sweet corner, one kind of English breakfast tea and coffee. Of course guests could order other hot meals e.g. full English breakfast, omelettes, sausages, hash browns, Eggs Benedict etc. for surcharge. But if I compare this “basic package” with breakfasts those were being served in other 4-star (and even in significant amount of 3-star) hotels I already visited, Arbor City Hotel is however level or two down.
Myself and my boyfriend stayed for one night whilst we explored central london for a weekend. Absolutely loved this hotel got an amazing deal on the direct website due to a 72 hour flash deal £107 for a superior room, late checkout 12pm , early checkin 1pm and a full English breakfast. Reception staff were friendly and allowed us to leave our bags due to arriving before our checkin, room was so lovely even had our own Nespresso coffee machine which was handy for Sunday morning. Professional hairdryer and proper iron which was so useful! Lovely rainfall shower and extremely comfortable bed. The best staff were the breakfast staff, the breakfast is served in the basement but because of the way it's decorated it's light and airey! Food was awesome proper full English breakfast and even allowed to dip in to the buffet food. Would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in central london- easy to get to nearest tube station was Lancaster Gate which was a 5 min walk from the hotel. Will be staying again when I'm next in central london 👍👍👍
We have travelled a great deal and we are apprehensive about staying somewhere new and often boutique hotels can over promise and underdeliver in our experience. This Hotel is delightful in every way. It is designed with the guest in mind and therefore has those little extras that make the stay comfortable. The rooms have well designed layouts that make them feel spacious, coffee machines and large bathrooms that have underfloor heating, luxurious showers with toileteries such as shampoo, body cream and body wash with good quality soap provided. The location is quite and unassuming but very convenient to restaurants and underground stations plus a very pleasant walk to Kensington gardens and places like Harrods. If booking make sure you include breakfast as it is a delighful service in a small underground room that due to the bright additions of colourful art and lighting and the use of lovely cups and napkins makes a pleasant way to start the day. The english breakfast is made to order with a nice selection on the menu and cooked to perfection with coffee and tea served to your table. This was such a welcome change from entering rooms filled with the smell of overcooked eggs on the buffet. The staff are very attentive and eager to ensure your needs are met. I just hope that the standard we experienced at the Hotel continues and doesn't decline as time goes by and the obvioulsy new decor etc starts to age.
It's always a pleasant and relaxing stay at this boutique hotel licated at 5' walking distance from Lancaster Gate subway station. A nice hotel, clean, contemporary a very nice boutique style, exquisite service. I strongly recommend it for business stay or tourists. Don't miss to visit marvelous Kensington Gardens. Hotel very quaint!! Very nice for boutique style hotel. You must leave your room key at the front desk when leaving, not sure why. There wasn’t much daily room cleaning. Make sure you have a converter, if planning to use a curling iron.
Poor checkout service for a business customer, it was very difficult to get a printed invoice for the duration of my stay. After 15 minutes and a couple of phone calls one was printed and give to me. Shower room door was broken but apart from that the room facilities were clean and functional.
My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Arbor hotel as we planned a trip to Winter Wonderland. The hotel was clean, centrally located and the staff were great. The room was quite small but was clean, modern and had everything we needed; the shower in particular was great. Although breakfast is included, it is a very basic continental breakfast. We would definitely stay at the Arbor again.
We was working here on business for a full day and the staff could not of been any more accommodating. they were very friendly and did everything they could you help you. The rooms were gorgeous, everything you could ask for. the Shower was amazing way to start the day. I would definitely stay here again,
